  1. Because Avram taught them Total Football didn't he?
  2. Old post here, but I totally agree with all of it!
  3. YES, YES, YES!! Please let's bid for him!!! An outstanding talent, future England captain! Yes please! But we won't sign him. He's English.
  4. So now you know why I can't take the moderator's job! You must now be silenced
  5. Exactly! What a horrible waste of money. No doubt he's spent a few thousand on that.. Certainly could've been used for a much worthy cause. Disgraceful behaviour, not that his behaviour surprises me anymore..
  6. Now now, let's not go down this road :eyebrows:
  7. Fair enough mate On a final note on the first point though; I don't think it matters what league/country a player's from. If scouts think the player is good enough, then I trust them, not just ours, Real's, Arsenal's, Tottenham's ect. Kompany came from Belgian leagues and now he's one of the most promising defenders around
  8. Haha oh yes. Hope Tortilla9 let her down gently
  9. Fair enough haha, I just think sometimes he can do better. Not that I'm ignoring our creative problems, by any means
  10. Thank Zolayes. Commitments like these can not be ignored. As you say, taking on this role wouldn't have been fair on the staff here already and those other responsibilities I have externally. Hopefully everything will work out how it's supposed to.
  11. Confusion over Chelsea bid Apparently there was talk over a €50million bid. Been denied by Palermo boss. But questions remain over if an original bid was even made now..
  12. Agreed, fair point. But I remember Jimmy did it a lot. It's why we got to be so good at counter attacks, because he'd come back and win the ball, link up with the midfield, then run through, with pace. It's something I always look for strikers to do, because it pays better dividends. I think in the Premier League it's better for a striker to do this.
  13. Nah that's not what I'm saying. Of course we need a better, more creative midfield. Can't deny that. But the fact is, Torres needs to put in his shift. He's a great striker, one of the most deadly in the world when on form, but he's lazy. He can't expect to hover around the last defenders shoulders, expecting the perfect ball each time. Even David Villa, for Spain, will help the midfield by helping the team play through. Even if we had an amazing midfield of the likes of Pastore, Hamsik, Fabregas and all these other great creative players, I'd still expect him to support the midfield and put in a shift.
  14. Yup, I'm sure everyone remember how Feyenoord have "reported" us over the Ake transfer
  15. Yeah, I've learnt to ignore the money now. I just base a transfer on the actual player.. I give up on this club's ability to negotiate . Based on the merits of Lukaku, I'm convinced this is a very good transfer.
  16. Let's hope our new manager does something about it then :\ All great strikers get involved in the play.. Just look at Rooney (though I hate to). He'll link up the play in midfield, defence and attack. A great player on the pitch, he really is. Even Drogba does it. Anelka does it too much though
  17. Yeah, the book was really attacked The good thing about the film was they had good insight from his wife especially, but it's still a film that doesn't impress many people. It's understandable why they'd be angry, I'd imagine much stems from the original book.
  18. Whatever we do with our midfield he better make sure he gets himself involved to help them. Watching the Spain game on Saturday I was well annoyed with him. Before he scored the goal he isolated himself from that section of the pitch, like he was waiting for an easy ball. Indeed it came, but he'll have to work more for the team if he does want to have a good season.
  19. Haven't heard about him being loaned back and if he is, surely that would show we're trusting Sturridge? Hopefully Anelka & Kalou will move on, but if they're not, then loaning back Lukaku is a good move and gives Sturridge his chance without having him pushed down the pecking order again. The second point also links back with my first. I anticipate the likes of Kalou, Anelka & Malouda will move. Even today it's emerging Drogba will move on. So buying Lukaku is good preparation for when we need a striker, which is very soon, with the age of our current ones. Of course, I agree, we need other positions filled first. But this is still a positive transfer in my eyes.
  20. Vanity buy? He's 18. Surely it's a buy for the future?
