  1. Career ending moment if the injury is true, I believe.
  2. I agree with your post except for this. No-one will disagree about the commitment of Ivanovic but take that out of the equation and is he really the optimum right-back we should have? I'd say no. Despite his good defensive game, offensively, he's not very good. He can cross a ball, no doubt, but for me he doesn't get forward enough and isn't the speediest of the bunch. The full-back is now, more or less, a wing-back. His job is more on the attack then it is in defence, it's what makes Cole such a dangerous left-back. His ability to do both. Ivanovic doesn't possess as much of a threat in attack as Bosingwa did prior to 2008. We need a proper right-back. While it's not high on the priority list (behind a winger & attacking midfield player) it's certainly a position that needs filling.
  3. I'd be surprised if City let him go, especially to us (after we got Sturridge in a similar fashion).
  4. An opinion of why Javier Pastore is valued at £45million So the truth is, Pastore isn't really worth £45 million, but Palermo know that clubs will be willing to pay that amount for him - and they will of course be willing to accept the money. Pastore may be very talented; his skills, his passing, his vision, his creativity, his flare, his talent for impersonations, but in my opinion, he isn't worth £45 million. Source: Football-talk Published: 7th July It's just an opinion of the original writer. Interesting read.
  5. I agree with you there. As someone once pointed out, all great teams of each season have had a prolific striker that's been instrumental in their season. E.g. Ibra for AC.. Hernandez/Rooney/Berbatov for United.. Messi for Barca (I know he's not a striker but you know what I mean) If Torres does not start scoring more regularly, we will be in trouble. Not sure if it should be Falcao. That being said, we don't have an upcoming striker from our academy (now that we've sold Borini) so Falcao maybe a risk worth taking.
  6. I guess, when you put it like that. However goals will also come from other places, not just Torres. If Torres can even get us 20 goals in a season, we still have the likes of Sturridge to bag a few (should he be played) & even the midfield. You are right we need another striker, but would Falcao be appropriate when we're talking backup to Torres?
  7. Ohhhhhhhhhh Well still haha, I do have faith Villas-Boas can resurrect Torres' form.
  8. I have no doubts we'll sign Modric to be honest. He's expressed his desire to leave & his desire to stay in London. Levy can only do so much till he realises, having an unhappy player at the club will have a real impact on the team. *cue Torres flashback*
  9. AVB said he was in poor form
  10. I don't think we need him. Falcao was in the same form as Torres before Villas-Boas took charge at Porto. As he said.. He will give Torres the Falcao treatment. That being said, I do think we need a back up striker. Behind Torres & Sturridge. Like when we signed Anelka in 2008.
  11. Positive to see Terry & McEachran talking to each other in the beginning of that video AVB & RDM. Still can't get my head around it!

  13. It's hardly a "come get me" cry.. Porto said the same thing

  15. Another Arsanal player going to Manchester City?! Seriously guys. Next time City come to SB, let's chant "Are you Arsanal in disguise?!" That's.. Touré, Viera, Clichy, Nasri, Adebayor, Platt & Sylvinho!
  16. His promotion was always going to be a guaranteed thing. A great talent. Even other fans rate him highly (i.e. Liverpool & United fans who follow youth football). Big hopes for him.
