Absolutely thrilled to see Mount dropped twice in a row. Was minorly worried it was some kind of "save him for the big game" shit at the weekend. This 100% makes it clear he is now considered a squad player due to bad form.
-
He was scared to play forward as if Mudryk loses it trying to win he would have to defend and he can’t defend. Not fit to wear the shirt, end of
-
Depressingly this is true, the reason Alonso was here for so long was that he did actually have some really strong characteristics to make up for his 6/10 attributes, Cucu is <= 6/10 at everything. I do wonder who asked for this guy and why we paid so much. Did Tuchel want him / rate him and not like Chilly?
-
The problem with firing him is who the hell will the owners replace him with? They obviously have a model they're applying here for appointments, and the Potter decision was probably actually thought through quite a lot based on data and his personality. Maybe this mindless drone strategy is intentional and if we ever cut him the next person will be someone just as uninspiring? It certainly feels like they want a 'yes' man and Potter is probably that. Would the top, elite managers be that? No, definitely not.
-
The thing about Brighton is that we are sort of aware now that it was fantastic recruitment that was the secret of their success - they genuinely found a lot of gems, and had players in the form of their careers like Cucu - but it is obvious that this is not down to Potter as he has not been able to get Cucu to play well even once.
-
If FFP permits we should sell him in summer, probably can still get £20m for him, although wages may be tricky. Honestly would rather still have Emerson, who at least was a hard worker and willing runner.

That is the thing that is killing us all the most. Where did Chelsea's winning mentality go? Where did the "it is not acceptable, we have to win" go? GP simply does not seem phased by results, if we were relegated he would be saying "its a learning experience and we'll definitely be better next year, we've got some young inexperience lads here and it will take time to work." He is supposedly trained in "communication" but honestly he looks pretty shocking at it to me.
-
I am at a point in life where I would love and find it fucking hilarious if we had another go under Mou. It would be at least fucking hilarious, unlike this Potter mess.
-
Mudryk was let down by his team mates but they looked hesitant to pass to him - maybe he is considered a liability by them w/ some of the loosey goosey short passes he plays? But he was often in acres of space crying for a cross field ball, but the team just never played it to him.
-
I wouldn't go that far - he is obviously a manager that belongs in the top leagues around the world. He is just not someone you hire to win trophies with or you can see building a dynasty. He is a bit of a pussy, imo.
-
Surely if he is going it is now, immediately after the game. Before I was thinking there was no point to sack him until closer to summer and let a new manager come in with a full preseason and get transfer business done early, but we've improved the squad a lot and having a good manager to work with them for the rest of the year would make a lot of sense as it can inform our summer business and will give them way more time to get the team in shape
-
Maybe we should just draw a line under VAR. We didn't get VAR right and it is time to turn it off and sack everybody involved, try again in another season after a huge overhaul. At the moment it adds so little value compared to the way it has ruined football - we can't even fucking celebrate half the time anymore.
-
Tuchel would be elite with the squad with the way it has been transformed ngl
-
How much would it cost to sack Potter? Can we afford it?
-
Exactly the problem with the crop of players we're phasing out: MENTALITY.
-
5 minutes of added time is all we get? How much did they waste on VAR?
-
Where is the accountability for referees and VAR? Need to have compensation tied to performance.
-
It is hard to win games when the referees and VAR are clearly incompetent and the opposition knows they can cheat and get away with it in every game
-
He looks tired already
-
I have been against sacking most of our managers, but honestly at this point I think it is obvious we need someone with more passion who can raise a group of players to something more than the sum of their parts.
-
Wait is Mount on the pitch?
-
No more excuses for Potter - before, when I looked at the players, I thought "where the hell is the quality?" today I look and I see the club has provided a manager a really good squad, not perfect but really good - we need to be winning.
-
Come on Potter show us you can handle this. This game is here to be won. If Potter can't get us the win here I will officially change camp.
-
Don't know about countless but yeah, he has been a bit sloppy - doesn't look like he is fully concentrating to me
-
Btw, controversial opinion but thought Enzo had a few sloppy moments in this game - got away with them all, but looked a little like he wasn't fully concentrating.
