I don’t think there was any sensible process with Potter. They just had heard good things about him and saw Brighton performing extraordinarily well at the time and said if we add that level of ability to raise a squad above their level to an actually good squad we will be amazing, but then we were shit because what works for small clubs is not the same as what works for big clubs in general. I also think the club were forced into firing Tuchel for reasons that are not public, but rumoured to involve him being a massive coke head and banging young members of staff. They then did a panic appointment. This time they’ve learnt from that and are doing a proper process, led by footballing people who were not here back then. What it does show is that Boehly does not know shit about football and should never have been involved so much and our previous staff (Marina etc) should have been kept on until we had new directors in place.

Honestly think Poch would be good, but would also have been ok with Enrique. If Carlo wants round 2 that would also be fine with me. Other than that no one super interests me. Definitely not Jose. I’d probably take another couple of years of Conte though, which I know most will disagree with.

I hope we appoint someone very soon, but am glad the club have taken their time and not just panic appointing someone like Potter again. Do think they should appoint someone soon tho so at v minimum they can be watching all games in person and observing some training sessions. We need their help for the clear out.

Tbf Gallagher has some function up front in terms of harassing defenders and playing the high press. Lets see. Might be genius or might be madness.
-
Imagine spending 600m and then seeing your manager putting out Chalobah and Gallagher
-
Just appoint Enrique. Clear philosophy to build the club around that works.
-
Yes, but I think he will manage a win and a couple of draws to be fair.
-
Maybe in the Championship we'll look like a good side

BOEHLY OUT
-
Imagine lumping the ball up to Felix as a strategy LOL
-
Reece James has not been the same player for some time now. Hope he can recover his level. Looks like a youth player again.
-
I wonder if Boehly can get sacked from day to day involvement. He's only a relatively small % owner isn't he? Surely has to be in consideration.
-
Of course he is. Potter had proven himself as a very talented manager, Frank has failed everywhere since Derby.
-
Slow to every ball, sloppy, lazy cunts.
-
We need a small squad with a reasonably consistent XI, made up of great and well drilled players with tight on the pitch relationships where people compliment each other. Can't wait for the season to be over and for the fire sale to start.
-
Pretty much only Enzo, Mudryk and Chilwell deserve to stay on.
-
He is not intelligent enough to be a footballer in the top half of the table.
-
Will Lampard lose every game until he's sacked?
-
Auba would probably too
-
Agreed, light years ahead of Gallagher. At least he looks like a squad player.
-
Might help sell them if they get some goals, I guess.
-
Surely he's not still playing Gallagher.
-
Not looking forward to this at all.
-
Kante, Enzo and Kovacic should be a dominant midfield but meh. Forwards been useless, Frank needs to either change the personnel or change the approach. Why on Earth neither Mudryk or Havertz is playing is beyond me.

Real shame we are wasting time with Lampard. Make no mistake this will set us back next year when the new manager needs until Christmas to see the players in action and understand who is up to what. Personally wish we would just appoint Enrique and call it a day, or even Poch would be fine. Not sold on Nags who just seems like a German Graham Potter to me.
