  1. Agreed, light years ahead of Gallagher. At least he looks like a squad player.
  2. Might help sell them if they get some goals, I guess.
  3. Surely he's not still playing Gallagher.
  4. Not looking forward to this at all.
  5. Kante, Enzo and Kovacic should be a dominant midfield but meh. Forwards been useless, Frank needs to either change the personnel or change the approach. Why on Earth neither Mudryk or Havertz is playing is beyond me.
  6. Real shame we are wasting time with Lampard. Make no mistake this will set us back next year when the new manager needs until Christmas to see the players in action and understand who is up to what. Personally wish we would just appoint Enrique and call it a day, or even Poch would be fine. Not sold on Nags who just seems like a German Graham Potter to me.
  7. One thing I am really sick of is seeing Gallagher wear a Chelsea shirt. Can't help but think Frank played him cause he's young, English, and likes to run about.
  8. Rudiger to Kouli probably biggest downgrade since we replaced Drogba with Torres
  9. Yes, no respect from the players for the travelling fans who's whole day has gone into this. Pathetic. May as well have kept Potter on rather than this BS of an interim coach approach.
  10. Imagine the managers out there thinking about taking the full time job watching this lot play...
  11. I don't blame the formation, just the player selection - Gallagher, Havertz, Felix, Sterling and Kovacic is a toothless 5 out of 6. Who is going to score from that lot?
  12. Obvious that Lampard is not a good manager, we got rid of him for a reason, but have to say the players simply are not good enough goal scorers. Every top team has players that score out of no where, our players almost never do and even reasonably clean chances they struggle with. Just have to hope it is a confidence issue.
  13. I refuse to believe the managers don’t want to start immediately. We have chance to win CL.
  14. Valuable time lost imo. Takes managers months to really learn the squad, we hear it from managers all the time. If we delay until summer, our new manager doesn't know the squad properly until Christmas, probably. I think there is not so much between the people available that we would wait until summer, one of them will be ready to go immediately and that will be a key screening question in interviews. Also, like all big clubs we tend to run pretty shitty preseasons from a prep perspective, as commercials are the main focus. This is time they can use for prep before preseason, so that by the time next PL campaign starts our players have been drilled well.
  15. I think he and Nagelsmann are similar in lots of ways, I think either would be OK but Nagelsmann is sort of flavour of the month in some ways. I think any of Enrique, Nagelsmann or Poch would be a big upgrade on Potter. I have the general feeling that the style of football Pep has advocated for is overall the one that works the best over the long run, rather than the ultra high pressing approach which to me seems to bring short to medium term success only, so I'd probably go with Enrique. Pep (and now probably Arteta) have just won so many titles playing this way that it just feels like they've won the debate, and we should commit to it for the long term and make it work.
  16. I think I lean towards Enrique. Nagelsmann feels like a German Graham Potter in some ways, could see it working but could also see a lot of the same problems persisting. At least Enrique is a big name with player appeal, and a trophy cabinet behind him.
  17. Wonder what the cost of our bench is vs their XI?
  18. Enzo is a big improvement on Fabregas. Took our time replacing him but finally we’ve got creativity and raw talent in the middle.
  19. Starting to look like a top side again. Sufficiently attacking and such a big goal threat that we overcome marginal offsides, dubious ref decisions and so on. Hopefully we'll start to build a run that will make us a side that other teams are terrified of again.
  20. Impossible to celebrate goals anymore in the VAR era. Honestly ruins the game imo.
  21. It's a gypsy curse, it is official
  22. The players answer questions professionally and from a PoV of self-interest (might be stuck being managed by this guy for years), of course they're going to say polite things at a minimum (like Thiago did). However, if they really disliked him there would usually be a shit load of leaks that make it clear, and I don't really see that. I think because he is so inoffensive and genuine in his attempts to help them they really don't hate him - they probably just think he is noticeably less special / motivating / clever than some of their previous managers. Given the way he has put rotation and an equal share of minutes above basically anything else this is somewhat to be expected. They would have turned on him if the XI was locked down and results were this shit, but they have all had their time to "shine" and been an equal part of our failure, so they can't really justify trying to pin blame on him.
