Koulibaly off the books is amazing news, what an absolutely dreadful signing that was, one of our worst CB signings ever. Liked his personality and professionalism tho, he just fell off a cliff in terms of pace and couldn’t handle the league.
I think we have to be very strong with Lukaku: tell him he sees out his career in the reserves or finds himself a new club on a permanent transfer for an agreeable fee. Make it clear we have absolutely no problem with his career being over if he has no problem with it. We can afford it. Can he? In the final crucial years of his career?
I think given the tiny size of Lukaku’s brain and the giant size of his ego he will not be calm and professional as needed. My feeling is if we just force him to play in the reserves then come Jan he’s agreeing to a move to Saudi.
It’s a miracle. Saudi literally to the rescue. God I hope Lukaku goes there for a decent fee, what a turnaround that would be. My only other desire for his career is that we use him to serve food at Cobham and clean the toilets until his contract is up.
Money is the main motivator for most modern footballers. This is just the beginning of what could become a shitstorm, unless something intervenes as in China.
And yet people complain all the time that we buy Caicedo for loads of money only after Brighton have bought him and ask why we can’t just get the players directly…
This guy looks way ahead of Fofana or Broja. I am guessing he or Nkunku will be our strikers until Jan and we will try to go for Ivan Toney then.
Broja and Fofana need loans imo.
Personally am excited we are signing someone not incredibly obvious: what’s the point in having a massive / expensive scouting team run by TWO directors if we just go and buy household names a bunch of people on the internet want us to get? There may be some parallel universe where this guy signs for Brighton and we are fighting 4 clubs for his signature in 12 months for 100m. Who can say.
Says it all about why our season was so bad when you see how many important first team players are saying they want nothing to do with us anymore: Kovacic, Havertz, Mount…
TBH just want a squad of players that really went to be here and fight for us and live their dream of being at Chelsea. Rather be outside of the top 4 for the next years than deal with another squad of cunts.
Feels like we are getting Caicedo, another situation where some things have been agreed and it’s just a matter of time unless PSG come out of nowhere again?
Enzo and Caicedo is some kind of youth team wet dream but where is the experience and leadership? Back in time all of our CMs were international captains…
I think Kepa is good enough for a top four side which is the maximum our aspiration should be for next season. It could wait tbh, if we can’t get the right man for a sensible price atm.
I would entertain £50m + % of any future fees if he is pushing to be let go tbh. I want to start the new season with only players who really want to be here.
