I was just about to make a depth team based on these signings
GK - Sanchez, Marmashdaville and bettinelli
    RB - James and Gusto
    RCB- Thiago and Disasi
LCB- Colwill and Badman (major battle for who gets top spot this season as I just took out colwill off my fantasy team because he now has serious competition in badiashile)
P.S LCB is very dependent on who Thiago can get the most out of. At times last year Benoit played like a badman but looked lost when Thiago was out injured. I hope colwill has more confidence and could be future captain 26.
LB- Chilwell CuCu and Maatsen (Hall loaned to Palace and straight into my fantasy team, Cucu probably demoted to cup games and cameos. Maatsen could do with a prem loan but we cant risk playing cucu for 6 months
Pivot -Enzo, Caicedo with lavia (better prospect than adams) and Santos as depth
AMF- MF Kudus pleaaaaase. We are screaming for a lampard type player for 10 years who can chip in with 10-15 goals a year. Chukwuemeka as backup.
RW- Sterling and Noni (not my favoured side of attack). Kudus could do a job here until Nkunku is back
LW- Mudryk and Sterling as a back up but I'd prefer to attack the side that doesn't have Sterling lol.
    ST- Jackson, Vlahovic, Broja
So our 25 man squad would be as follows
    Sanchez
    Mamardashvili
    Bettinelli
    James
    Gusto
    Chilwell
    Maatsen
    Cucu
    Colwill
    Badiashile
    Thiago
    Disasi
    Enzo
    Caicedo
Lavia/Gallagher (I think we know who is superior and it would be net zero - 10m loss for this to go through)
    Santos
    Kudus please ffs
    Sterling
    Madueke
    Mudryk
    Jackson
    Vlahovic
    Broja
This is a realistic 23 man squad we should have been aiming for since the end of the season. Team still needs a season to gel but i think we can get top 4 or 6 and challenge for a cup. Maybe go for the league the year after like arsenal did. This is all dependent on if we can get caicedo and kudus over the line.

Please no. He would be injured every other week, kick up a fuss and contribute less than he provides. Easy pass. The new team is based around noone being the star but rather it is a team effort. If you think back to a decade ago, that's exactly how it was. They were all stars rather than 1 or two running the show.

Apparently PSG is open to loan Neymar with obligation to buy next summer because of the FFP issues. Like they got Ramos or Mbappe before. With general consensus that we don't need to buy almost anyone in the next couple of years we could afford this easily. Imagine how useful Neymar would be against all these lesser sides we struggle to score plus is creative which we are lacking.

You'd surely take Neymar for 50-60 mil. I really don't think he'd be a locker room problem as suggested.

Today might be the most important day of this summer transfer. Let's hope it's Caicedo and Lavia or at least Caicedo and Adams, if it's Lavia and Adams, not confident we can get Top 5 this season.

    imagine
    scuppering/pwning
Brighton (we buy BOTH Caicedo and Kudus, we already smacked them down on Colwill)
    Pool (we buy Lavia)
Juve (Lukaku + a fair amount of dosh for Vlahvovic)
    and
Bayern (we sell them Kepa (weeeeeeeeeeeeee) and buy Mamardashvili)
the last 3 are some of my oldest. deepest hatreds in football (along with Manure, Spuds, Arse, Barca, and Real, plus newer ones in Citeh and PSG)
and the newest annoyance is the first one listed above........... Brighton

Pretty much everyone is forgetting that Broja is coming of a massive knee injury and is possibly (not saying 100 per cent) permanently damaged goods.
I need to see 2 straight years of health before I am 100 per cent convinced.
I know I am absolutely brutal about injuries and height (in certain positions), but dammit, look at the record of my warnings.
Fofana is the newest, massive bust. He is likely done in terms of being a potentially WC or even very good player. I warned. He came off my lists long before we stupidly bought him for insane cash.

I hate to be the pessimist again but doesn't anyone feel like the circus is continuing? All of our signings have been busts apart from Enzo who we overpaid for after he had a WC under his belt. I had hope for fofana but alas :(. I have hope for the Brazilian lad that just got his visa though.
The truth is I would be more comfortable sealing caicedo no matter what and have chalobah/humphreys and colwill/badman with Silva alternating, rather than buy yet another mediocre player. Idk much about disasi but he definitely isn't gvardiol level. I can only imagine it's because poch doesn't rate one of chalobah or humphreys (who I know is a bit young but now his route to the team is blocked).
Arse, Manure and pool (our competitors for top 4) have all spent their 100-200m and are integrating their players in friendlies. We would be lucky to just sign a DM before the season starts. Hope if we've moved on from caicedo things will move quicker, but it's a big step down to lavia or kone.

Anywhere Mbappe goes other than Real Madrid it’s to use that club as his Real Madrid waiting room for a year. So with that in mind, why would any club other than a Saudi one pay £150m+ to literally rent him for a year? He won’t sign any deal with a club for longer than 1 year surely.

Can we have a unrelated sub to talk about fantasy Premier league? This would let us talk about on form players to pick (including from other teams), maybe set up a league to compete with each other. This year is looking good after the first friendly, I didn't pick a single Chelsea player after James got injured in GW2 last season.

deep misogyny here from some of these posts
I do NOT want to hijack this thread with a long dissertation on this
but ffs it disturbs me to no end to see violence against women attempted to be gaslit away and claimed it never happened (as if, for example, Greenwood's partner beat the shit out of herself)
    OR
simply being found not guilty in a court of law means the crime did not happen and was not committed by the accused (see OJ, see a thousand mob cases, etc, or, back in yank Jim Crow days (and sometimes even now), white juries finding clear murderers, etc of us black folk by white folk to be 'not guilty')
technicalities leading to a not guilty decision and/or jury nullifications (or outright jury fraud via tampering, etc) happen every day
woman recant things against their partners all the time for a myriad number of illegitimate reasons, including battered wife syndrome
I have had multiple straight female friends of mine (and even 2 lesbian friends in regards to their violent female partners) stick with a violent male partner and have too often heard the excuses  of 'oh, he did not really mean it' or ' he will change' or 'well he is under a lot of stress financially/socially/family-wise' etc

To explain how garbage our buys have been I must elucidate this point by rating our transfers of last year.
Enzo- potentially world class but was bought at a peak after World Cup and may never live up to his price unless he brings us a couple of CLs and PL domination.
Fofana- perpetually injured and will never be worth his price. Would be a steal for 30-40m if we waited till Leicester got relegated.
Mudryk- a PR fantasy. To overpay for a winger that arsenal weren't willing to match, from a war torn country to come and wave his flag the first day he arrives. Worth the 70m for sure...?
Cucu- I really liked him at Brighton and he looked electric when he came on for the first time. It all went downhill from there. I don't get why we would spend 65m on LB backup when we desperately needed to strengthen other areas.
Sterling- Once a 🐍 always a 🐍. Time and time again he's proven he just wants a pay packet and we will probably be his last before he moves to midtable team or retires.
Badman- looks good when Silva is holding his hand but ALWAYS looks shaky when he has the ball in front of his area. I have anxiety that this guy is going to cause a goal.
Koulibaly- We got soooo effing lucky the Saudis bailed us with this one. All of Italy is probably laughing at us after Lukaku and this guy over consecutive seasons.
Madueke- looks like he wants to be a gangster but can't even take on a man (AS A WINGER). This guy just runs into people, he ran the ball out of play the other day for England U21.
DDF- says it all when lampard didn't even give him a chance and played Auba for the last few games. This guy will never be PL standard.
Auba- I shit my pants when we bought him. Nobody saw this and thought 'yes, exactly what we were looking for'. Still we had to bankroll Barcas attempt to undermine every single one of our main targets somehow.

No, people are just surgically dissecting your positings and you don't like being challenged over your hagiographic revisionism along with your near doomsday level pessimism for the present and future.
    simples

We have all (or almost all) have had massive goes at Boehly, when he WAS FUCKING UP, but atm we truly seem to have turned the ship around, and more than a bit.
Steep learning curve, but it is ludicrous to say the club is destroyed atm.
IF Boehly had not hired any actual football directors, and attempted to run it all himself (along with the Clearlake lads), then yes, I can envision how the club would be destroyed, but the bloke is not a fool, he is a damn sharp businessman with previous sporting experience who is learning the footballing world, and in that learning curve he resigned as Sporting Director 7 months ago.
    to paraphrase:
Rome wasn't destroyed (or set up to be entering a decline cycle of several years in our club's case) in a day, and it won't be rebuilt in one either.
We had enough good inertia built up over 17 years to wrench out another CL win and finally win the World Club championship (and the Super Cup for the first time under Roman), but the club was massively fraying at the seams, starting with the UK Home Office denying Roman his visa years ago, which lead him to pulling the plug (heartbreakingly) on that monster new incredible 'Gothic stone temple to football' stadium.
Combine that with some horrific contract management and too many shambolic buys, and the writing portending a decline was already etched upon the wall.
Almost all the monster clubs who were monsters when Roman bought us (so remove Citeh and PSG) have had (or are having) issues.
    Barca
    Juve
Pool ( a long period of decline after they scaped their CL in 2005, until Klopp came)
Manure (they have been a trophy wreck overall since Fergie left and if not for Moscow and Terry's slip, they would be on a 25 straight year run of no CL finals wins, and ONE in the last 56 years, and only TWO ever 'best team on the planet' claims in 146 years of football, and that is even being generous, as they lost the 1968 Intercontinental Cup over 2 legs to Estudiantes (led by the great MFer Juan Ramón Verón, Juan Sebastián Verón's father) following their first CL/EC win in 1968)
Arse (on the rise now after a LONG period of massive decline)
    AC Milan
    Inter
Ajax was already no longer a top massive club anymore when Roman bought us.
Plus Bayern almost lost the league, and are not remotely close to the machine that won the CL in a trot a few years back.
One of the 2 new monsters, PSG have never won the CL and are in a hot mess with Mbappe, Neymar etc atm,, and lost Messi. I do suspect they fix themselves, but nothing is guaranteed, especially that first CL (look how long it took Citeh).
Only the other new monster (Citeh) is riding high (as in top of the heap), along with Real Madrid (if they freshen it up and make smart buys, which they very likely will).
Even Real had two massive gaps between being the top club on the planet.
32 years (from 1966 to 1998) with no CL final win, and then, after winning it 3 out of 5 years (1998, 2000 (and they and Manure were hammered in the 2000 FIFA World Club Cup, neither even made the final, the only two European teams ever to not even make the final), and 2002) 12 more drought years (2002 to 2014) as well, despite INSANE Galactico spending in the noughties whilst chasing La Décima.

I usually don’t address these things publicly, but you have had multiple people tagging your posts for racism and winding up members. There is a gangster look, I really don’t think a head band is the be all, end all of that look. I really would not think he does look gangster, but it is a subjective call. As to the wumming. I went back through your posts and it goes all the way back to when Frank Lampard 2.0 was about to happen. You thought Frank would help us to improve. That is the last positive post about the club or the owners. You are allowed to have your opinion. You have demonstrated you can give that opinion without turning the players names into slurs. If your posting style going forward is mostly negative toward the club and turning players names into slurs, you will not be posting at this site. It is a site for fans of the club to discuss the club, the men’s team, the women’s team, and the players. If you have a criticism of any of those things, that is fine. Just make that criticism without abusing the players or people running the club. There are plenty of fans that do not care for the owners, but we should be able to voice that without being abusive about them.
