That'll be a difficult one…

Still 0-0, we are going strong 👀

We are hopeless, but football is football, especially when one is Chelsea fan. I expect nothing but more of the same we are doing recently, but won't even be surprised if we will suddenly win it 3-0 due to some outlandish shithousery. It's a Chelsea thing.

Yeah, we were actually happy to see Roman around. What I'm worried about is pulling the string both sides at the same time. "The board" aka TB & EB were very reluctant to let Potter go, despite the footballing people pushing for it. It could be matter of his last 3 games window, but the situation could actually be dragging for weeks. The football people finally managed to force their solution, but were they actually pushing for Lampard? I somewhat doubt it and I'm not even thinking about the rumor of some tv-celebrity recommending his appointment. Many people agree that Mudryk was highly random signing. Was it the directors plan or just TB looking for making an impact to prove a point? Who knows. Having a boatload of similar-level players for an AMF-ish position with even more incoming also doesn't seem like a sign of deep thought. What I mean is putting people and resources in place to create a certain structure and also making individual, half-random decisions that cancel out their effort and are totally disconnected from their concept doesn't seem super effective. Looks like a lack of communication or lack of trust a little bit. Of course owner should have a say, but it's hard to achieve the desired effect without a common strategy and synergy.

Geez, that gave borderline-ptsd flashbacks. Use of this phrase should be banned for at least few months after the Potter mess 😂 But on more serious note. I generally agree with your conclusion, but the problem seem to be the inability to stop the hands-on micromanagement of things by the owners. It could be understood in the beginning, but now we have some football department in place and they still seem to be unable to move away and intervene into everything or overturn ideas of people supposed to make the "vision" happen. Directors seem to be more of an advisors anyway. I can understand you don't buy few billion toy not to play with it, but fun thing is this stepping into decisions had already proven catastrophic a few times, yet there's no end to it on the horizon and it may prove a huge issue very soon.

47 million pounds seem rather peanuts compared to what the board is ready to throw left and right for "generational talent", so the "large fee" part looks sus lol

Take all such reports with a grain of salt, but geez. How delusional are they? No one but our happy owners duo did it. They were the one to sack TT and hire Potter, ruining the mentality. They were the one shitting cash on whoever Daily Mail and Siri pointed them to, leading to having 3 players for every position with minuscule improvement over what we've had during our worst staffing crisis, which is right before Tuchel sacking. They were the one to allow media leaks in how humiliating way we missed out on pretty much every target, ruining the morale further. They were the ones to literally erase the winning mentality overnight and treat our team like we were freaking Brighton with the "project", "future" and "patience" bullshit. Above all, they were the one not to appoint knowledgable middle-management to lead the rebuild and take care of sport side of things for freaking months. Their staffing record seem comically bad for now. And now they are questioning the players why this shit doesn't work? They were the ones to instill this kind of mentality and support Potter's "boys gave everything" and now they are mad because we lost to Real Madrid? Rotfl. I'm not trying to excuse players, I'm far from "Boehly out" as they at least seem to at least have a dedication to something, and wisdom comes from failure usually, but for god's sake, have some sanity.
-
Yeah, hopefully someone had responded with similar talk, directed towards Boehly and Eghbali.
-
Don't worry, they will somehow stretch it to hand the transfer ban to us 😂 It will stick, of course. City will have to pay 10000 pounds and the FA will wave they finger in slightly angry manner.
-
Still wonder how people turned to love Kepa again (for at least 6th time lol) and prefer keeping him with his huge contract and fact that no matter if he is on upward wave or in the slump, he won't manage to grow any bigger and that's his eternal flaw. Meanwhile Mendy had proven to be anywhere from solid to unbelievable for penauts, and actually having minimum commanding skills, yet most people want him gone and have no problem with Potter literally throwing him out of the team. I somewhat doubt him having 10 meter longer pass would magically solve our problems, but each to their own I guess.
-
Misunderstood lol 😂 Honestly, don't know. Until recently I believed the top manager could hit the ground running and along proper tacfic and boost of enthusiasm we could actually rebound and create a good foundation for next season. But now, looking how badly pretty much everyone had given up and what a mess the club is I started to doubt it honestly…
-
I don't know if I could say with 100% confidence when player's morale was actually high after TT hitting the slump, but I doubt it was actually very good under GP, despite of what he was saying. Parting with him could only mean improvement, but I guess appointing Frank afterwards didn't really had an effect the board thought it will have. And tbh, I was saying it for a long time - I doubt there was anything more destructive, than constant lowering of expectations and bringing in the excuse culture by the board itself. They were first to actually agree upon the fact of season being lost and giving up is ok, long before it was actually lost. Potter was just playing to their narrative (and fitting it quite well btw).
-
So, now people really think that Potter would magically win the last 3 games and go on ungodly streak after months of suffering and losing if only he wasn't sacked? 😶 Performance-wise we are just shit as we would be under him and play the same players we would be playing. The unquestionable upside of the situation is that Boehly will hopefully let go of an idea of hiring Lampard full time as another Potter-esque attempt to prove some dumb point, instead of appointing real manager.

You can't make this shit up 🙄
-
@manpe @Blue Armour Are You guys surprised we have conceded right before HT and it's Enzo again? 😂
-
Haters gonna hate 😅
-
Yeah, stop wasting the supposedly biggest talent in world's football according to their own words. Badsman, Chuka and Noni deserve a chance. Wouldn't mind putting the end to ostracizing Mendy as well.
-
If I'll see the unsurprising "The board is impressed with De Zerbi as a manager and are looking to open talks with him" after this bs, I'm gonna snap.
-
Pretty this much, but there is lot more. We lose - Enzo. We concede - Enzo. Any other bs - not Enzo. Noticed this when Potter's ass got mainstream hot and thought they want to redirect attention to the new shiny hype purchase, but it happens on almost regular basis 😆
-
I guess our board may get a little confused here… Hard to discern which team is the one they have and one they think they have…
-
Not directly Enzo related, but I had pointed it a long time ago and noticed others are noticing too - our Twitter department slaps his face all over the shitstorm-igniting posts, knowing he was well received by the fans, so it's supposed to ease the heat I guess? Some kindergarten level PR.
-
+1 to that. We were on the rise brand-wise "recently" and although our recent performance isn't necessarily the helping hand in negotiations (however exposure deffo is there, just not very positive), I wouldn't really be concerned about our marketing potential. And the Three, oh well, they were pretty much first to attempt to fuck us over when UK government decided to boost their theatre around Abramovitch, so I guess we can do more reliable.
-
Still more honest occupation, than tv celebrity pundits, not only sharing their shit wisdom as "experts", but also push whatever agenda or sympathy they tend to have at the moment 😀 And well, teams are nothing without a fans, so that's the kind of barter there is - whatever they'll do, there will be fans fiercely criticizing it. And I'd say we have full right to do so, as we are only ones doing it for free. Meanwhile people getting unimaginable money for it seem no wiser in recent times. I always said that if eg. club had followed this board's dream transfer targets, we'd be long time relegated and bankrupt, on the other hand, it often seems that nothing is learnt from obvious mishaps. But being able to be a little grumpy is a big part of being a fan I guess 😉
-
No surprises here, not even mad. People thinking we are winning CL apart, we all knew we are not quite up there team-wise, spirit-wise, manager-wise and owner-wise. Could end up with another trashing tbh.
-
There were actually people thinking we are easily winning CL despite all that crap we suffer on everyday basis because whatever reasons, right?
