I am sure zouma's numbers are way better. No amount of stat padding can cover the absolute fiasco that has been rudiger this season. Should be the first CB to be sold as he has just 2 years on his contract

There is a difference in 'wanting' to and actually working towards it. I want to sleep with Kim Kardashian and gal Gadot, does not mean I will get it. Kdb gets MOTM against hull and then gets benched for months for a player who did not have a hundreth of his quality. You can't expect a manager to freeze a player out with out a reason other than his own asenine judgement and then expect the player to just bend over and take it. It's not how the real world works, it might work in "Jose world" like that though. In short, I want to say is, Jose drove them out, no matter whatever shit he peddles in the public. I won't say kdb was justified. O feel he was worth fighting for even with josr, and our board should have done that. Sala I agree, he sermed okay-ish. But that is the reason sometimes that the board has to say no. You can't get willian, matic, Costa and CESC and then want the board to spend another 150m on Pogba and varane. Conte won the league in 16/17, a year after the Jose debacle so I think the board were rught in not caving into Jose anymore. Also his career trajectory redeems them further.

Lol We have as many wins in 11 games (9wins) when jorginho is not starting to 9 wins in 24 games that he has started in PL this season. 'bad game occasionally' got to be one biased opinions ever with literally no concrete logic or stat to support it.
-
Is it? 24 starts 9 losses (United, pool, city, whu, Bournemouth, soton, newcastle, United, Sheffield) 6 draws (Leicester, Sheffield, Brighton, arsenal, Leicester, Brighton) 9 wins. Without jorginho starting 11 games 9 wins, 0 draws, 2 losses Honestly it's not difficult to see why the "jorginho hate". One of the most useless players I have seen
-
If they beat wolves, they will be just 2 points behind them. Wolves will play palace and chelsea, while Burnley play Norwich and Brighton (easy 6 points). So no way is it anywhere near to done.
-
What has "not needed" ever stopped city 😂
-
Na. Wolves are not getting 3 points at Burnley. No way.

"Yep he hasn’t. Abraham could be a one season wonder. 11 goals scored during his purple patch. Did Kane ask for a pay rise immediately after getting in the first team?" You do know that the club themselves are looking to lockdown the youth players to long contracts. For eg James, mount, tomori, rlc, cho. So I don't think Tammy woke up and said, "I want a raise or I won't play". There is a negotiation going on, in which he is demanding. "Slow down we haven’t got Havertz yet. It’s all rumours. We don’t know exactly how much money we have spent on Kai." The fact that we are even been linked with kai should be fact that we are willing to spend. And it's way beyonf rumors now. "Also you do know Chelsea had money in the bank before the Hazard money right? (even though we suffered a major loss due to us being in the Europa League that year) We couldn’t buy anybody last season because of the ban. Don’t forget about our player loans plays a huge part of our income." Lol. Are you serious? Did you read our financials of 18/19? We incurred a 100m loss. https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/chelsea-financial-results-2018-19-revenue-loss-champions-league So all this, "we have hazard" money is literally wishy washy talk. So no, i don't know if we have "money in the bank" because our financial statements certainly say that we don't. "Look, IF we get top 4, I like to thank them for their service. The players you just listed I don’t have any huge problems with (bar CHO) regarding money at the very least. They are good enough as backups anyway. But these players becoming our main players will not help us compete with Liverpool and City. Even United next season. We need BETTER. Gilmour, Tomori and maybe RLC I am willing to give them another chance in the starting XI for next season." Obviously these youth players won't be our main players overnight. Mount has already shown he is quality so he is an exception. Gilmour will be quality, but that is why we have kante and kova ahead of him. RLC was a mainstay before his ACL and so far his sub performances have been good. Tomori should be one of our 2 main CBs since the rest are so inconsistent and dare j say "poor". Reece I trust to be a good deputy to azpi but slowly and surely show his class. But look at how much money we woukd be saving not buying the likes of michy (Tammy), bakayoko (rlc), Drinkwater (Gilmour), pedro (CHO), Barkley (mount), zappacosta (James), rudiger/zouma (tomori) just by giving these kids a shot who have shown they are more than capable of taking the next step. You are worried abour 30kpw extra for Tammy which is 1.5m per year. 10 years of dexent service from him would be paying him 15 million extra. Damn bro, batshuayi cost 35m. Get the difference of how much the club is saving with these good (but still acceptably inconsistent) youth players.
-
16 goals. 14 pl goals by a 22 year old striker. Lol. Yup sure he has not earned it. No, I am putting the mercenary category on them, if you think that asking for more money is being a mercenary. Understand what is being said. Hazard went for 100mil euros. 60 mil was already spent on pulisic. Where did the werner money come from? 90mil for havertz along with LB, GK, CB as expected. All of this is still hazard money? No it's money saved by not buying a 30m back up to werner, saving 30 mil on like of Mount and Rlc, cho, James , tomori, Gilmour. That's where we are working so well.
-
Why should he leave the club if he wants a better deal? What kind of logic is that? 😂 Tell me how much JT or Frank were earning. The rumors of JT keaving for city. Were they mercenaries too? "And if you are going with what you’re saying, then yes Abraham should switch clubs to get the “20% raise”. If your statement just backfired on you, then yeah you need to think about what you’re saying next time LOL." What? Well leave it, don't care 😂😂 "I never said these deserved the wages they are having. But two wrongs don’t make a right, and certainly giving Abraham a new contract with a strong wage, isn’t a right. We need better players, not keeping average players." These average squad players who are scoring 16 goals in a season are what is saving us millioms of bucks and helping us go for grade A talents like ziyech, werner and Kai. But keep ranting and raving. Not like that is gonna change the club's or Lampard's stance. Lol

Jose wanted Costa and CESC - he got it. He wanted willian despite having hazard, Oscar, mata, schurrle, kdb and Moses, he got it We sold kdb and mata for him. Same with Conte - got Morata and lost Costa, got emerson, Alonso, bakayoko. Even bid twice or thrice on Sandro but Juve kept increasing the price. But there is only so much shit that the board can deal with. But more often than not, it has been what the manager has wanted. But yeah, agree to disagree.
-
Minutes wise I just wanted to show that willian and Pedro were as important as each other. 2500-3000 mins are massive minutes. Obviously we could have. Not saying it could not have happened, and I am sure this would have been discussed in length. Not just among the board but also with the manager. I had read that during the whole Courtois situation sarri was asked if he wanted to persist with Courtois or buy someone else. We bought jorgi for him, even bought in higuain. So obviously manager input was paramount. Add to that the prior knowledge the board must have had about eden (hence we bought Puli) as well as the ban (hence we bought Puli in the winter window itself). They must have felt that going into this season with 3 young and very less PL experience wingers would be hard on the team (puli, cho and whoever we bought to replace willian). I don't think it was as clear cut as "we should have sold him" or "marina screwed up". Also willian barely costs us in the amortization and wages where as replacing him with a 50mil on 100kpw winger would have been a more expensive option for the board to take. Only thing I am saying, it's no where near as clear cut as fans make it out to be. There are massive arguments in the pro willian side too - 1. Known quality, 2. Manager preference, 3. Squad experience and instability with hazard surely leaving. Those 60mil would have been a loss if we had sold and replaced him with some Italian league winger that sarri would have wanted (let's be fair all of sarri and conte's transfers were crap) and we would not have got CL 2 years in a row.
-
We had Filipe Luis. But azpi was played over him
-
Burnley have 50 points, and 7th placed Sheffield have 54, spurs 52 and arsenal 50. Depending on city's judgment, even 8th place can get Europa and I can bet Burnley would go all in for it. Hell they have wolves, Norwich and bha. If they beat wolves they will be only 2 points off them with wolves playing us and palace, while they playing Norwich and bha. They have all to play for, and won't be surprised if they get a win here
-
My bad on Benitez. Conte used willian throughout. Despite their fall out. https://www.transfermarkt.com/pedro/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/65278/plus/0?saison=2018&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= https://www.transfermarkt.com/willian/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/52769/plus/0?saison=2018&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= Willian had 3533 minutes under sarri compared to Pedro's 3099, so don't think sarri had a change of heart. It's paramount to have discussions. I gave you my reasoning why willian was not sold, and the "trust in the board" was an after thought. Your post was judgemental that the board fucked without thinking about how the sale would affect the balance of the squad, did sarri even want to sell willian, did willian want to leave, did we think that we could replace what he gave us. It's not like marina was so invested in willian and his afro that she just would not let him go.
-
Willian always provided balance. His work rate allowed hazard to have the freedom of the world while himself kept adding a body in midfield. I am sure if a young available winger was there, we would have done the deal, I mean we did do it for pulisic did not we? I am sure if he was so replacable as we fans feel, then Rafa, hiddink, Jose, Conte, sarri or lamps would have. Even now lamps would not be saying that he wants willian to stay (he is not fighting for pedro, so we know it's not just out of courtesy). Point is, people think it's simple, while it really is not. Those people are at those positions for a reason and they are doing a good job.
-
Lb and cb for me. And both as important as another
-
And a brilliant decision that was. Imagine losing willian and getting a new winger, all the while knowing that hazard IS going to leave us the next year, with a ban on the horizon. (Because that is exactly what our board would have been expecting in the summer of 18) People seriously need to give board the credit that it deserves. And atleast think things through. Imagine not having willian this season and replace him with another young unproven winger or an expensive one (though not many options were there at that point). In all, like I said, a brilliant decision.
-
This is why people should not be throwing their toys out of the pram. Not atleast before things are over. Done and dusted.
-
+1. I hope we can somehow pull off a miracle swap of jorginho + cash/Rudi for de ligt
-
Should be sold. He is just so poor. A luxury player in PL. Just not built for this league. A proper regista for the slow and pedestrian serie a. Just looka so bad and out of place in this league. Needs to be sold.
-
+1. So frustrating. Him and jorginho were supoosed to be the leaders, but they are just so poor.
-
What does not fly this season? 1. That we integrated 5/6 youth players? 2. We lost the best pl player and one of the best in the world? Without being replaced? 3. We lost kante and pulisic to long term injuries? 4. We are in total transition, with complete change in system and style, along with even a change in the way the club works? Which of these points am I exaggerating about? By just integrating these youth players (mount, tomori, Reece, Tammy, Gilmour) along with rlc and cho, we have saved about 150million which we would have spend on squad players like bakayoko, zappacosta, michy, Drinkwater etc. This have made us go all out for first teamers of real quality in a time teams are unable to spend even a dime. On the football field, we have not been poor. We have been inconsistent which comes along with integration of youth. We beat man City in a wonderful performance and follow it up with whu. Our manager understands the issues defensively (removes Rudi and Alonso both of whom had shockers), but unfortunately their replacements are not great too. Hence the mega links with a CB and a LB. We are taking small, but sure steps in the right directions. Obviously in these circumstances there will be some setbacks. But in no way is this season a failure
-
We could barely get a CL place with one of the best players in the world and easily the best player in PL. We lost him, could not replace him, integrated 5/6 youth players into the team, changed our total system and style of play, and you are wondering why we are struggling to get top 4 or there is a lack of consistency. Seriously? Lol How many of you expected us to even be in a top 4 race without hazard, with injuries to kante, pulisic for long spells. Obviously, we have issues, any team in such a massive transition and change will have such teething issues. Which place did pep finish in his first season with city despite spending a fortune and not losing the best pl player? Or Klopp? It's not making "excuses", it's having a perspective. This is not fifa, it's real life.
