  1. I think it was obvious that he would do that. Michy might be a technically not that sound a player, but seems like a decent hard working fellow. It's not his fault that our scouting team fucked up big time. He is good enough to be starter for any mid table PL club and getting them decent enough goals. Never thought he will simply stick around for a year just taking the paychecks. Hope he gets a decent club and re-ignited his career.
  2. Kepa signed a 7 year deal. 2025 is when his contract expires.
  3. I think Jimenez + onana would help us far more. We need a defensive leader. A proper warrior. And aomeone to get the best out of zouma/tomori (who are both good defenders). Onana will be an upgrade too. So we will basically be getting 2 upgrades rather than 1 upgrade and 1 yet another good CB.
  4. Because according to that poster we ended the sarri season better than the current one. According to him "none of our youth players are good enough". Despite mount being a mainstay, Reece showing his class, Tammy scoring 15 PL goals, Gilmour would have been played if not for injury. This was also the same guy who said something along the lines of "anyone who thinks Reece is a footballer is an idiot". So basically no. I don't need to explain anything to any obvious troll and negative nelly. Also, I have already made my opinion clear multiple times So again, just gonna call an obvious troll as a troll. Not going to give him the bait.
  5. Willian, auba, laca. Their whole frontline would be on the wrong side of 30
  6. To be fair, we have enough quality cover and versatility in the squad to not re-sign willian. That 4th winger spot should go to a youth player (probably anjorin). Moreover we have mount who has played as a winger this season. Kai too. Werner too. Do agree on your assessment though. The top part of the squad is shaping up quite beautifully. Now for the LB and GK.
  7. Still don't get why we are going for the cillesen swap deal. Valencia are reportedly interested in kepa. They get their man at a cut price, we get a 31 year old good GK for the next 3-4 seasons at least. Should suit both parties.
  8. I dont know why, but never got the hype around him. Maybe its Napoli or something else. But just dont understand the 90m/100m price tag around him.
  9. Until we sort out the Kepa shit, I think he will do fine. Also, we can either cut our losses with Kepa or we might want to give him another chance. Send him on a 2-year loan to spain to get his confidence back. Will improve his re-sale too as we wont get anywhere close to 72m at this moment or we can re-call him then. Having Ben Foster as a no.1 for a year or 2 might be a decent solution overall.
  10. At this point, goes without saying.
  11. So anly transfer news regarding the sales of the loanees/unwanted players like bakayoko, kenedy, baba rahman, matt miazga, musonda, zappacosta etc.
  12. What a massive performance. I was so nervous before the game, but decently confident too that we will turn up. And how we did. Let's take a moment and understand what we have acheived this season. We had the following things against us - 1. Transfer ban 2. Losing our (and PL's) best player to RM 3. Paradigm shifting change in system 4. Paradigm shifting integration of youth And we still got top 4 in this league. It's was not all smooth sailing by any stretch of imagination, and ofcourse there is a massive learning curve here, but we still OVER- acheived. Regarding the game, Zouma, Rudi were immense. Azpi was assured but made a couple of errors. Reece had another solid outing. Alonso was surprisingly untroubled. Jorginho and kovacic controlled the game - the tempo, the pace. Mount - MOTM and what a performance. Giroud - well, before his goal, thought he was having a stinker, but such a well taken goal. Brilliant anticipation. When this transfer happened, was so unhappy, but so glad to have been proven SOOO wrong. Saved our season. Infact saved us the last season too. Pulisic - shut down well by wolves. Everytime he got the ball, you could see 2-3 wolves players closing him down. Will have to learn to play against that. That's his future. World class players get that attention. What a brilliant overall performance. Now for the FA cup and to give a decent account of ourselves in the CL against Bayern. Come on chelsea
  13. Tbf, they were 12th when he took over. Has done a great job.
  14. Nervous but confident. I think we will win. Come on chelsea
  15. Covid influence is on teams which had match revenue as one of their main revs. We don't. We have a small stadium and we don't charge arsenal type prices. If you see match revenue as % of our overall rev, it's quite low. Also, there is a paradigm shift in our club. Not in those. Rm still has to pay 300kpw to hazard, Ramos, tibo, Modric etc While we have lost almost all of our highest earners in the last 2 seasons- hazard, willian, pedro, Luiz, Cahill I see our spending as a result in improvement on wage bill and amortized value. Not as a result of hazard fee. Those fees are important if we are a self sustaining club, which we still are not (96m loss last year).
  16. I know. Very conservative figures of 40m€ and 20m € for jorginho and Barkley. Just to clear the point that it's very doable.
  17. Just did some more digging regarding our finances. We made 60m profit in 17/18 to 96m loss in 18/19. The swing of £156m can be captured in: Profit on Player Sales down £52m Exceptional cost up £20m Amortization cost up £44m Wages up £40m Total £156m Similarly if we do an analysis between 18/19 and 19/20 Exception costs will be down by 26m (what we paid Conte in 18/19) Profit of player sales - in 18/19 we sold players for about 75m€, while this season we have sold players for about 150m+€. So not a linear extrapolation due to various different amortization fees but still let's say we double our profit. So that's a profit 60M£ (lower value). Amortization cost - should be up as we bought kova and Puli (half a season). So around 15m loss Wages - lost hazard and Luiz, but gave some big cobtracts to rlc, cho, James, mount, tomori. Not sure. Maybe broke even. So just by this, we might still incur a loss 15m despite the whole hazard transfer fee already included. Also loss on match day revenue is not added to it. So have to say, does not look it's the hazard money which is making us go big. By the looks of things, it feels like the club will be letting go of the loan army who have been increasing our amortization value + wages for so long. Get this Zappa + baba rahman cost us around 10m in amortized value itself. Selling them would not only reduce that but also reduce wages (or atleast keep the same if the other team was paying it) while giving us some profit. The youth players (mount, rlc, cho, Tammy, james, gilmor, tomori) would all help in that. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/bobbymcmahon/2020/01/08/how-chelsea-went-from-record-60m-profit-to-96m-loss-in-one-year/amp/
  18. 10 different posters have given you a different articles to several reasons why we will NOT HAVE to sell kante. If you want to be stubborn about it , that's your choice. I am out.
