  1. Utd are in a hole and are another PL rich team. The loan fee should cover his book cost and they should also cover his wages.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me if Lukaku starts, scores 4 and then the stats people come out of the woodwork and start saying things like 'LoOk At HiS gAmE tO gOaLs RaTiO, wE sHoUlD GiVe HiM aNoThEr ChAnCe!'
  3. He is like Timo but slightly more limited as Timo had better spacial awareness. Without miles of space to run into, Sancho is very limited. Personally, I would steer clear of him.
  4. Everything I have seen of Gusto so far has been great but he is probably going under the rader as he isn't flashy and that is what everyone loves these days. Tougher challenges await but he has impressed me the most tbh.
  5. Felix is exactly what he described. Maybe Dybala as well.
  6. No, feck that, I'd rather Valhovic. Nunez is like a amalgamation of the shit versions of Torres and Andy Carroll.
  7. I am sorry, but this is the problem with signing teenager's all the time without the kind of mentalities that Häland and say Roy Keane had. Boo, fecking hoo, if you're not getting the move you want. The players' ultimate responsibility is to train and keep themselves fit - even before making a match day squad. Pinning around, hoping that your going to make more money soon, isn't an excuse, it is either immaturity or greed.
  8. Kroos tbf is normally on the money in a fairly direct/savage way.
  9. Would be about 12 if we didn't have Silva playing.
  10. This game was essentially what I was worried about in the off-season. We seriously lack experience, we appear to have overpaid on a number of players and we are now just finding out how good these players are in the PL. The hope that Nkunku is some sort of silver bullet is also quite fanciful imo. For me, the turn around in some of the posters posts here is very surprising. Especially as a number were saying we have upgraded our team and/or that experience doesn't matter because x, y, or z of who we sold where crap anyway, so we did amazing business. Personally, I am not going to get carried away with what I have seen the last two games as it was what I expected. What I will do is be patient and hope some of the players can get to grips with the league much quicker than I expect and that they develop in ways that I am not expecting. What would be nice however, is for there to be some reality checks around here when it comes to squad building and for the forum not to make new scapegoats as they have done down the years with people likes of Alonso, Mount, Kai and Jorgi.
  11. If this was Brighton fans then fair enough. Caicedo is about a £50-£60m footballer who we have horribly overpaid for. How we ended up paying £115m for him needs serious investigation as - unlike Enzo - he doesn't have any elite technical skills to fall back on. However, as this is coming from Dipper fans, you can feel the bitterness.
  12. Don't be silly. Enzo is the only one that would get near one of Real's starting CM positions.
  13. I wouldn't say it is surprising. Mendy is a GK who can control his area in aerial duels and is a very good shot stopper. What he isn't is a player with any passing abilities, as seen here and in the second half of his spell here. What Mendy essentially needs is a Jorginho/Silva/Kova - and mostly at least two of them at the same time so he has options with the ball at his feet. Those type of players (Jorgi/Silva/Kov) are great at finding a bit of space in order to receive the ball when things get tight for their colleagues. For me, if you have a balanced side and at least one player in the deepest 5 outfield players who understands how help the GK on the ball to have wode passing lanes, then he is great. If you don't, he looks like a clown. That said, I still take him over Kepa everyday in the week, as Kepa's only ups on him is his passing (also not great) and is ability to 'spring' up quickly which is common in midget GK's.
  14. Of course, there is risk in any context. However, small sample sizes come with inherently more risk.
  15. Or equally we need to do another rebuild next year as most of them haven't developed as expected or aren't up to it. People are talking about Caicedo as if he is some seasoned pro in his peak. Kid is 21 and had one season in the PL with a mid-table side who overperformed last season.
  16. I would laugh so much if the Lavia bid is due to us moving on from Caicedo after all the Twatter 'ITK's' were saying it had moved forward the same day.
  17. That may be the case, but I also suspect there aren't any takers.
  18. Is this some sort of bad touch example. The kid looks slightly terrified.
  19. Cannot go to CAS for PL rule breaches. It is mandated in the PL's rules that all the clubs signed up to. That said, I am not worried about this. I suspect it is similar to the UEFA issue in that we raised it with them. I suspect a heavy fine but no more than that. City are in a lot more trouble with the lack of CAS to bail them out.
  20. This explains the delay. This deal was probably done a while ago but the umbrella company hadn't been set up yet. Not buying the idea this is some sort of deal that has come from nowhere if it is for £40m+ pa and the club didn't seem particularly bothered about no principal sponsor.
  21. Well considering the grief Gallagher and Mount have got from some of our online fans, this guy is probably going to become another whipping boy if that is what his skill set is.
  22. Think this is wise. Better for him to have assured minutes at this point in time.
  23. Yeah, we should stop buying players off bad injuries and or injury troubles.
  24. Club are saying extended period. I reckon that is longer than 3 months. At best that is a clean up and see how it goes but may require more surgery.
  25. This is the problem. If it is a long injury we're pretty fecked and have a weak hand in the market to do anything about it. A loan deal with option is now probably the best thing we can hope for. We cannot take another punt on some young kid/someone from a unproven league as Nkunku was meant to be the glue.
