  1. It is farcical that we still have him as No.1. I actually think a new GK is on par with getting another CM.
  2. Honestly do not understand how people do not think he needs replacing immediately. Absolutely should not be anything but a No.2.
  3. Good. If it were up to some of the muppets on here he would be sold for anything north of £35m and then they would take an expensive punt on someone they deem to have good stats or flashy YouTube highlights.
  4. Yeah, PSG have very little wriggle room, unless he is an utter money grabber.
  5. I think this is what will happen. I cannot see him agreeing to go to Saudi. The reputational damage would be too much. First, as he would be seen as a pure money grabber, second, his sponsors would have political issues with LGBTQ+ and human rights groups. As you say. He has plenty of money coming regardless, he doesn't need Saudi as long term it could cost him a lot more. Only out I see, is a loan where PSG have to subsidise it. Another European club would take him for half his wages for a year. However, I cannot see anyone saving PSG with a massive loan fee plus cover his €2m+ wages a week.
  6. Well, possibly. We cannot rely on preseason to tell us how these young players are going to adapt to a full PL season. Atm, Sterling and Silva our the only experienced players. That isn't enough imo. We need some experience to calm things down when the going gets tough. Additionally, what we have seen from pre-season isn't enough to judge how they'll perform in the more pressurised PL environment. Nothing about winning the league. However, I am not sure about top 4. Atm, we have an incredibly young team who have very little experience in the league. For sure, they could all turn out great like Utd's class of 92, but even those boys' had people like Bruce, Pallister, Keane, Schmeichel around them. Atm, who have we got that can guide them on the pitch when things get tough? An example of what I mean was actually seen in the Brighton game when Colwill just dived in for no need. Those sort of things happen with kids and you need players on the pitch to calm them down when they do. Who have we got that can do this? Silva, for sure, but outside of that no-one. This is also before we get yo us trying to move to a back 4 which Silva is going to have to adapt with his now 39 year old legs. My worry with this squad is a tailspin and lack of depth.
  7. We need more experience imo. Silva is the only one in the squad who has been there and done it and he is 39.
  8. Goeretzka (sorry for spelling) is available. I would be all over him.
  9. Thing is he earns around £2m a week at PSG and then has a £100m loyalty bonus coming at the end of the season. That is £204m gross for staying where he is and he doesn't need to then negotiate some sort of deal with his his new club/loan club to ensure he gets his move to Real next season. This is important, as Real will likely give him a serious signing on bonus of £100m+. Then you get to the issues of his endorsements. Are they likely to keep paying him if he is playing in Saudi? Personally, I see him riding out with PSG. Especially as it is now reported the French Players Union is now coming out to bat for him saying that PSG are harassing him. PSG brought this all on themselves imo. Mbappe is clearly someone who cannot be trusted.
  10. Not sure, Shearer was about in the PL era. Pretty sure he would be remembered regardless. Additionally, he was a genuine Tier 1 striker in his prime so I think it would be discussed regardless.
  11. The madness is that is tax free. It would cost a European team £300m to match it, at least. However, I am not sure he will actually pull that trigger. He has £100m coming from PSG regardless and his wages on top. Does he really risk himself and his reputation in Saudi for a year? I mean, it is Mbappe we're talking about, so maybe, but that move at his age carries risks medium to long term.
  12. Never really seen the fuss over Caicedo. Yeah, he had an impressive first season in the league but it is not as if he is some sort of technical God, where you know that he is going to be a great/good player, even if his form dips. Personally, I think we need to stop fucking about with Brighton and get a No.8. Put James in at DM and have Melo as RB. If needs be use £40m to get Livra back. It is not as if that is crazy money for a 21 year old HG player as there will also be a buyer for him if he isn't up to it.
  13. Don't want him. Don't get me wrong, he is absolutely quality but as an individual and team player he leaves a lot to be desired. If we're going with a super young side, we cannot afford to have such a prima Donna with such social catche. Additionally, not going to happen. He is set at PSG this season. £100m for riding the bench then probably get another £100m signing on fee at Real next Summer. No need to even go to Saudi.
  14. I can really see James going to DM for a variety of reasons. I am not sure it is as big of a need as everyone thinks it is.
  15. Think this is a bit early to tell. Drogba was an absolute nightmare for defenses to deal with because of his physicality. I think Carragher, who was a sh*thouse, admitted he hated playing him because he essentially couldn't deal with his strength. Additionally, Drogba didn't have Jackson's pace. From what I have seen so far he looks a bit more like a young Torres with better link play. Obviously, my sample size is very small as I haven't seen him at Villareal.
  16. Problem with him staying is the work permit. I think it is almost certain he will have to be loaned to Portugal and try and break his way into the Brazil international team. Agreed. However, he is capable of starting smaller games. I just don't get the critics of Gallagher. He works hard, keeps his head down, has always proven people wrong (he wasn't that highly rated in the development teams until late on) and he really wants to be here. For sure, he isn't Super technical, but all good/great teams have a player like this. I mean, SAF at Utd was an expert at having players like him in all his good sides. It is only preseason, not too much can be read into the performances. For instance, Jackson is never getting such a high line to play against in the PL that he got last night.
  17. Because if you listen to most people on here they just want players who have good highlights and are flashy. Gallagher is perfectly fine as a squad player who can get some minutes, especially when we need to close games down.
  18. We've needed a new GK since the day we brought Kepa.
  19. We're going to need a CB. I thought this before Fofana's injuries. I recognise we have the numbers but we have to remember we have fecking Kepa in goal. Atm, we have Silva - who is great - but 39 so we cannot rely on him solely, especially in a back 4. After that we have Levi, Badman and Trev. Levi and Badman have looked great but there young and need a confident GK behind them. Trev, is a good squad player but isn't starting material. For me, we need a decent 26-32 year old CB who can rotate with Silva and/or provide a steady hand if Badman or Levi struggle with form (which is normal for young CB's.)
  20. Fofana is pretty much done. Physically he may recover from the injuries but the amount of football he has lost in such a small period of time means that he has lost so much development.
  21. I don't see him as worth £80m. He had one decent season in a year where the league got spilt into two due to the WC. Personally, I think we should just move on. We're getting bent over.
  22. That front line scares me. Nkunku has only performed in Germany which is a league we know produces players that then struggle with the PL. Jackson wasn't on anyone's radar until last season and even then in January he was about to move to Bournemouth. Of course he had a purple patch in the last four-three months of the season, but so did Bloodclartyang the season before with Barca. Again, not the most confidence inspiring. Personally, I just don't see any goals in our side, then we still have t-rex armed Kepa in goal and our main CM target who we've spent months on is a player Brighton moved around consistently in their starting XI rather than having him nailed down to his favourite position. That concerns me as a £80m+ player should be cemented in their position, especially in a team like Brightons.
