Just make him a RCB. He is a better defender than most, if not all of our CB's. Additionally, with all his injuries to his hamstring, it isn't likely he will be able to bomb up and down with much pace anymore anyway. I know some people will complain about his height but 5'10" is fine so long as you've the aggressiveness (which he does), defensive skills (largely there) and decent ball playing ability (which he has.) That way we van also get Gusto in the team.

I think he has done well. He has implemented a style and pattern of play. That is not something Potter or Poch did. There are obviously some draw backs currently, namely the quality of the CB's and GK. However, if people actually think back it took Pep 12-14 months/two summer windows to fully settle Man City into this style. My only real issue ATM is that he he has Palmer dropping into midfield too much where I prefer him closer to goal. However, I am hoping with Lavia coming back we will see Palmer move up as Caicedo and Enzo together struggle to move the ball through midfield well enough.

With the way we play, the emphasis is on the GK to come and clear when the ball gets played in behind. He didn't do that. On top being slow to come out, he also got his angles and body position wrong. He went far to close to his near post which gave Jones a massive gap to hit back post. On top of that, he had his left arm down at a 5/6 o'clock angle (when already being too near his near post) when it should've been at 3/4 o'clock. What doesn't make sense is that earlier in the game he literally had a pen overturned as he got the GK benefit of 'if the GK gets to the ball first, then it isn't a foul' whereas with the second goal he stops, gets his angles wrong then falls down. I honestly don't know how anyone can watch that goal and say he wasn't incredibly poor in that moment.
-
How many more times is Sanchez going to cost us points before he is dropped. That second goal was woeful. Why did he keep his hands to his side so closely. Gave him a massive gap and did commit either.
-
I expect either team to win by two goals or more. Whoever settles wins imo.

What have people made of Hermansen at Leicester? Everytime I see Leicester he looks like the reason they are still in games every time I watch their highlights. My sample size isn't massive - and I am not advocating signing him - just interested to here what other people think, especially if they've seen more of him.

I can actually see us doing something in this game - if we can get a fast start. Dippers have been getting results but they haven't been playing great. If we start fast and get a early goal, I can see us winning and maybe even get a few. However, if we don't get one in the first 25-30 mins I can see the team getting ground down as the game goes on.

Guy needs to go to rcb or dm. Let's not try not to pretend again that he is built like Gusto or Cucu and can bomb around for 90 mins and then be surprised when his muscles go pop.
-
My money is that they pulled a Messi on him and pumped him up with HGH.
-
Yeah, got to give the guy some credit in knowing his limitations. Probably only did this as he knows if he got put on in such a game he would've made Sanchez's mistakes all of a sudden look like prime Yashin.

I understand the frustration he can cause. However, with such a young CF people need to also take into context the development they show. I have said it elsewhere but his development in the past calender year has been impressive and is perhaps the most improved player in Europe during that time period. People need to get over looking and stats, memes and gifs to judge a player. Equally, pre-season performances also need to be taken into context in that they're essentially training sessions. For me, Nico is still not the finished article, but he definitely looks headed in the right direction. Let's hope he keeps it up.
-
I don't get people who don't rate Nico. 40 games in and he is close to the magical 1 goal per 2 games ratio and that excludes his assists. This is also coming from a bloke who joined at 22, who had little formal tactical education, and got thrown in at the deep end.
-
This is why I am hoping Lavia is fit. He, imo, is the only one that is disciplined enough to not get dragged about, while his passing is a lot crisper so can break the lines more easily and doesn't require wide gaps to do so.

This is actually a big game for us. Wolves and West Ham have been two of the worst teams in the league this season, so whilst we played well and put them to the sword well- something we've admittedly not done for years - we were poor against City and Bournemouth, while we were up and down against Palace. For me, the single most important thing I want to see in this game is some sort of control in midfield. Against Bournemouth, they took control there and play right through us for most of the match. Palace also did this to us in the second half. For me, this has been our biggest issue since the start of last season where tactical teams can move the ball very easily through the middle.

Disaster may find his level tonight

I do not see the need to get a CF as Jackson has been one of the most improved players in Europe over the past calender year. As we aren't currently a team capable of winning the league, nor playing in the CL I do not see why we would risk his development at this point. Personally, I am fine with how the forward line is functioning. It is in midfield and at the back where we may need to do something. If we do something with the forwards it should be selling/loaning Mudryk.

This wasn't a good match. We got the win, which is what counts, but this was horrible for the most part and Bournemouth should have won. Firstly, Enzo need's to recognise Disaster should not be playing one minute of football for us. The guy is absolutely shocking. I honestly perfer Noni then see him out there. Second, CM was a big issue. Absolutely zero control throughout the match which meant the ball got played straight through the middle of the park with for the majority of the game and we had very little invention on the ball when in possession. It appears Caicedo has again got away with his Scrappy Doo performance impressing people because he got a couple of scrappy turnovers and ran around a lot. Veiga grew into the game a bit and I will give him time but that is certainly not a pairing I want to see in the PL for a while again. Owing to the problems the CM pair caused, it is a bit hard for me to be critical of other players unless the were dire like Disaster. The front line had zero supply and the back line were constantly under pressure. Although Neto could've tried to drop a little more often at times to get hold of the ball like Sancho and Noni did. Standouts were Sanchez and Colwill for me, both did well under pressure and pull out consistent performances. Tosin in the sweeper role also looked quite good, I am not sure about him defensively still but he has good passing between the lines, so having him drop back to give him an extra yard or two to play the pass is a good idea, whilst he also shouldn't get too isolated - although he needs to be careful not to play oppo attackers onside if their is a long ball/quick transition. Sancho also did well, good technical skills and went looking for the ball. Hopefully, he keeps that up as mentality is his biggest downfall.

Nah, Caicedo is bossing it now he doesn't have Enzo holding him back.
-
What are you talking about Caicedo is a world class CM.

Earls Court has always been the most sensible option for us. In my opinion, it is absolute madness to stay on the SB site with all the restrictions and compromises. At EC we could build pretty much whatever we want at a lower cost than a compromised stadium at SB. On top of that EC would be the best located stadium in Lomdon, which would then make it appealing for gigs, other sports etc.
-
My biggest concern with Sancho from watching him is that he is best when he has a lot of space to run into and doesn't have much in the way in terms of psyciality. This I think is why he struggled to adapt to the PL and why he has also not done much internationally either.
-
I personally wouldn't have signed him. For sure, he was good at Dortmund the first time around but Germany is an attackers dream with the high lines. Since then, he has appeared completely disinterested at Utd and even in his second stint at Dortmund he didn't set things alight. For me, once we brought Felix, that should've been the end as we didn't need two 'could be great, could be awful' signings at AM.
-
Tbh, no club were going to be sane enough to agree to an outright obligation at £30m. If he went there he could've been crap and if they scrapped their way to a second season like Huddersfield did a few years back we would've got a fee regardless. His deal now means he has to perform and stay fit. Both of which he seems incapable of.
-
Tbf, after watching us against Palace playing a one man midfield when off the ball, I am not too sure how long Enzo can play this system unless Gusto, James and Veiga can start picking up the inverted position to the level of Cucu (who won't be able to play every game) as it leaves us completely open on the counter. In that case Chilwell may be handy to have knocking about still.
