Wow, this line up really looks average. Mid table team quality, or a line-up that United would use in League Cup early stages.

Luiz in the mid. I would like to know whats excuse that liosden and the only place will use now for Mourinho using Luiz in the mid again.

Lets face the truth: Chelsea MUST win this one. The fact many people here are afraid of this game shows that this Mourinho team still has a lot to prove. If it was City vs United at Etihad, I doubt many people here would be questioning the natural outcome. Manchester is 7th, Arsenal and City keep winning game after game, we can't afford to lose points if we really want to win the league. With or with no Rooney or RVB, the result is gonna be Chelsea 3-0.

For me one of the most stupid things I read in those recent posts is that JT/Cahill are the ones to praise for the recent defensive form. Willian is the reason why the team improved in defensive terms, the same way JT/Cahill were not the only ones to blame for conceding 7 goals in 2 matches. True is, JT/Cahill barely had to work in recent games, because the defensive midfielder is looking solid in defensive terms. Actually I think at this point, some people still dont realize that the defensive system is much more than the CB pair. Sometimes a player like Willian is way more important in defensive terms than the CB pair.

Hope its just bullshit. He was a Chelsea player, then was involved in David Luiz deal. Now we just buy him back for 20m...it makes David Luiz the most expensive CB of all time.

After Liverpool game Mourinho said that he thinks Mourinho is a good DM, but for the style the wants the team to have, he thinks Luiz is not the kind of DM that would suit this playing style. It seems Mourinho want a DM like Lampard, someone with attacking instincts.

I can't believe the reactions here when the match was 0-0. The team was okay, and the win was a matter of time. Same about the Brazilian commentators bitching about the "lack of creativity". For me its cleat that its not the same as the first matches of the season, when the team was boring, lacked urgency, and the goal always looked like an impossible task. I'm glad we scored when Mourinho was planning changes. In fact I dont see how Mata or Schurlle would have helped the team today. Mata is not a player for this kind of away match, Willian and Oscar were both having a good match. The team was solid, and it never looked like Hull would scored (in other matches, when the opponent was attacking you just get the felling that they would score at some point). Ramires had a bad game by his standards. Luiz was dominant in the air, made some good interceptions, despite his horrendous shoot in the beginning of the 2nd half, he had a good game. I think its just funny that Mourinho is using Luiz as a DM, he even said days ago that he think Luiz is a very good midfield player, and some thought it was just another bullshit coming from Benitez. Hazard speaks for himself, and Torres scored, so he redeemed himself after killing 1000 attacking opportunities. ps: I hope Ivanovic won't be playing as a RB any time soon, Cole and Azi should be our full backs.

I nave to disagree. The team played well. Hull defense today is looking impossible to break, but you just cant expect this defense to be solid for 90 minutes.

I can't believe people are having this kind of discussion. The team is better without Mata at this moment, so it really doesn't matter if he was good last two seasons, if his past stats are x, y or z. Mourinho is the man to lead this team, and Mata is not a Mourinho player. When he had his opportunities he has been average at best. Last season the team was an Europa League side, the other the team finished 6th in the league. Pages and more pages of discussion, when everything is very simple, Willian and Oscar are playing better and there is no reason why Mata should playing instead of both.

Thats a surprise for me, I really did not know he still had 3 years left. I really dont see any point at this moment, just remember Malouda, who signed a 3 years extension in 2009, just to spend tha last year of his contract training with the kids. Why those guys just dont wait 2 years before offering a new contract.
