  1. Best performance in 2020. Might be worth keeping around for just these types of games where we'll obviously dominate the ball. As long as he has Silva and Zouma behind him it might work well.
  2. You can see he's getting more used to the pace of the league already. Couple of nice driving runs with the ball from deep, very underrated defensive work, and occupies space so well already in the final third, which in turn should start opening up spaces for those around him. It's all gonna click for him on a consistent basis soon, when this happens he's taking the league by storm. Can honestly see him having a KDBesque effect on our team. Sort of player that makes everyone around him better.
  3. Honestly do amateurish. It's crazy because the switch to 433 is where we picked up momentum to score that first and second goal and we almost paid for it by switching away from that. Could argue that that momentum could've carried us through to a win but Lampard took one step forward with the change to 433, and two steps back.
  4. That 334 formation from Lampard after we scored the 2nd was absolutely criminal. Almost FIFA like. Clear to see the team never practiced this.
  5. Never want to see him play LB for this club ever again. Always always always gets targeted. Always makes mistakes. Shouldn't even be near the squad unless we're thinking about playing with wingbacks.
  6. Aware this was before half time but just wanted to point out what some people might get confused about regarding his awareness. He has a somewhat lax, languid style of play. His off the ball work & movement (offensively speaking) is actually one of the best bits of his game. Once he gets used to the pace of the Premier, he's going to be one special player for us. Such a unique player.
  7. Thank goodness Mendy is on the way. Kinda feel sorry for Kepa tbh must be a lot to go through.
  8. So clear to see from me how influential he'll be once he gets to play in the middle of the park and also gets used to the pace of the league. Not his fault Lampard is freestyling the offensive half of our team atm.
  9. Superb cameo from him today. Really pleased. Should definitely be our third choice CB. As mentioned above, we should be moving on AC or Rudiger before him.
  10. To me this smells like KDB 2.0 mate. I remember a lot on here including myself believing this sort of rhetoric with Kevin and now he's arguably the best player in the league. I think it'd be a huge mistake to let him go, he's destined to flourish somewhere else where he actually gets consistent game time.
  11. I genuinely don't believe Frank here. This is exactly the same bullshit Jose came out with regarding KDB about how he doesn't train well. I'm pretty sure CHO actually came back early for training this season too.
  12. I would like to see: Kepa James AC Zouma Azpi Kanté Kovacic Mount Havertz Werner Giroud This is the most realistic line up surely? Lampard won't play CHO, and I don't think Pulisic or Silva will be ready yet. It's sad I'm not even looking forward to this...
  13. He needs to leave. We're KDB/Salah-ing him right now. No idea why Lamps has such a problem with him that he's playing central midfielders instead of him out wide. Plus, CHO would've also been far more effective than RLC at #10. If he's not going to start during this period where both Pulisic and Ziyech are out, when will he? People were slating Sarri for treating CHO like this (even Sarri's treatment was better imo) but don't say too much at all when it's Lampard who's running out an extremely talented player out of the club.
  14. He was very active today. I get that sometimes he looks nonchalant but not fair of you to say that he played like this today.
  15. Not really good but still one of our better players behind only Werner and Kanté imo. He also had the assist for the third goal. His performance was good because he stepped up big time when the team conceded a typical goal that usually set us back last season - completely cancelled out the negativity that would've followed. I'm sure he was MOTM actually.
  16. What's he going to do when Ziyech is back fit? Also, CHO would be more effective than Kai on the right imo. He's not the sort of player you willingly play on the right when we have quite a bit of talent there. I think my fear is that Lampard won't make use of the right squad rotations and talent management - his obsession with playing 8/10s on the wing is worrying me. Maybe I'm looking into it too much and just need a night's rest to look at it more objectively but the managerial performance tonight has left a real sour taste.
  17. Lampard is genuinely on Emery Watch after that setup for the game, what were we doing? Genuinely got bailed out by Reece James. Just don't understand why you would buy one of the most exciting #10 talents in the world, play a "system" that utilizes the number 10 role but then pinning him out wide on the right whilst playing RLC there instead? Then leaving our best available wide man/creator on the bench? We got outplayed by Brighton. It's very disheartening to see but looks like SFL actually has no idea how he wants his team to play after that and I think that's the most sour thing about it all. I guess defensively we looked a lot better though but Brighton still had their moments - a better team punishes us - and it feels like we've got some sort of system resembling there, but our play in the second and final third genuinely felt so chaotic. Really disappointed in Frank. Hope he turns it around against Liverpool. Bonuses are that we won whilst not playing well which is important, and of course.my guy Reece James.
  18. Jorginho off possibly guys?. Not sure of the veracity of this but...
  19. Hoping that this player will be Gilmour.
  20. Agreed that in the end, overall we were the better team. Sorry, your rhetoric made it sound like City were bad . Anyways, BIG victory! So close to securing that top four spot now, 4 wins should definitely do it imo.
  21. I thought both teams played really well personally. Discredits our performance by saying they were bad.
  22. I think you're underrating how well we played defensively today - a lot of other teams would've buckled under the pressure and even though we snuffed the majority of their chances they were constantly only 1/2 passes away from creating really dangerous situations. Just have to applaud the management and the players here for an outstanding tactical win.
  23. I believe we should use N'Golo and Jorginho who are at the latter ends of their careers, to phase Billy into the team. Billy has both of their best qualities wrapped up in one neat package. Whilst not as disruptive as Kanté, hes certainly more talented on the ball than both. He has the tenacity and the heart of a lion and reads the game extremely well - I think (hope) this is what Lamps and Jody are planning for him.
