  1. How is he no longer "good enough" to start for our toughest opponents? Do United want to sell him? No! It's Rooney that wants to leave. Logic.
  2. Benitez has been an average manager. At a club like ours, striving to be the best... We need better than "average".
  3. What so we aren't allowed to discuss a potential transfer? What the hell are the point of these transfer threads then?
  4. Don't Make Emile Of It in League 1! Aiming for b2b promotions .
  5. One would do 9! first instead of finding the square root of 9. (√9)! is what you're doing instead of √(9!).
  6. Won our 2nd game 5-0. Can't wait to get into the PL, you guys ain't ready for me.
  7. Very interesting this Peace. Thanks, I'll be using it in any argument against the ones that blindly love Rafa/think he's done a good job. Rafa's been average, he's not overachieved simply because we failed to take points against the bottom half of the table.
  8. No, it's Rooney that wants to leave United. United are the ones that want to keep him. The Guardian.
  9. 1. Touching 30? He's 27. Let's not sign Falcao or Cavani either then because if Rooney's touching 30 then so are they. 2. So it's perfectly fine and reasonable for us to pay high wages to the likes of Falcao/Cavani but when Rooney's factored in it's different? 3. What? You seriously can't tell me United don't play better when Rooney's on the pitch. 4. No matter who's at our club we'll still have our player's scrutinised. As a CFC fan you should know that the press always try to put a negative spin on whatever our players do. Rooney isn't Suarez level of controversy, so it'd be insane to not want someone as talented as Rooney because he might potential bring bad PR to the club. As you said, the media despise us, but that shouldn't stop us from signing Rooney. I seriously don't know why people would rather us look good in the media than have us be more successful. 5. RVP went on a 14 game goal drought as well this season. Rooney doesn't need to be scoring to be useful to your team unlike some players such as Torres or Falcao. Rooney will still be a big threat even if he doesn't score simply because he's a creative forward. 6. What? So because he's struggled with his fitness for one season he should be written off? He's a professional footballer ffs, a good preseason under a good fitness coach will get him into shape. People are over exaggerating his fitness "problems". 7. It's a worry you have but then I can counter that and say that maybe all Rooney needs is a new environment, under a new manager (Jose). 8. So it's okay for us to sign someone like Lewandowski, Falcao, Cavani etc. where people never bring up youth but when it comes to Rooney (who's even more versatile than all of the aforementioned players and would link up better with Lukaku than any of those mentioned before) he's going to be standing in the way of Lukaku? Come off it. Every single argument against Rooney usually consists of him "not being up for it" or "not being fit enough/too fat" or "he's a trouble maker". None of them are really questioning his talent. What does that tell you? Not aimed at you but more at the general... I'm not saying that Rooney's the only option out there, of course he isn't, but to say you wouldn't want Rooney for a price of around £25m/30m but then turn around and say you'd rather see us splashing more cash on Falcao or Cavani for £50m+ is rather hypocritical IMO.
  10. An average Wayne Rooney season, despite not playing up front for the majority of it: PL: 22 starts, 5 subs: 12 goals, 10 assists. All Competitions: 31 starts, 6 subs: 15 goals, 13 assists. Say what you want, but that's still very impressive for an "average" season.
  11. It's quite funny to see that the main argument against Rooney on here seems to be that "he's fat". He's the most talented English player out there right now, probably bar Wilshere. £25m for Rooney is a good price if he does go around that, certainly better value for money than Falcao and Cavani. Falcao, Cavani, Rooney, Lewandowski... All good enough to be discussed as our main striker in my opinion. Rooney's more complete than Falcao. More complete than Torres/Shevchenko. Doesn't just bring goals to your team. Fact is that when Rooney's played up front he scores goals and links up play very well. What are we looking for in a new striker? A poacher or a more complete striker? I'm very sure it's the latter, and Rooney is definitely one of the better strikers out there who fall under that category. If we can get him for the right price then I'm all in for this transfer. Okay, Rooney's had 1 average season. How you can completely write him off after that is quite bemusing to me.
  12. That's harsh. Moyes will do alright with United, he just won't do the wonders with them like Fergie has done. This United squad has no right to be walking away with the league like they did this season. It was mostly due to SAF brilliance that they managed to pull it off. With Moyes at the helm we won't see them grinding out as many games as they did under SAF but they'll still be a threat, just not as big.
  13. I'd go with this too. Possibly start Mata & Ivanovic instead of Hazard and Azpi too.
  14. We win this game and we're practically top 4, unless Tottenham decide to score a 20+ goal difference against Stoke away and Sunderland at home. Don't see that happening.
  15. Mancini isn't going IMO, it's just the fact that he's underachieved which has got people thinking his position's under threat. No solid rumours or anything though.
  16. Hopefully people will stop prematurely calling Mourinho a traitor and whatnot now...
  17. Ashley Cole is Wayne Rooney's best friend right? With that being said. I'd much rather we buy Rooney for £25m/30m than us buying Falcao for £50m. Rooney isn't just about goals like Torres and Shevchenko were. He brings a lot more to the table - when he's fit and motivated he's certainly one of the best in the world. He would fit in with Hazard, Oscar and Mata like a glove IMO. I would love this signing. People are just skeptical because of Torres but what made Torres a feared striker was mostly his pace and his confidence in taking a shot, which he has both lost. It isn't the same with Rooney. Not to mention that Rooney would add another option to the -3- in behind the striker as well when needed. Even if Rooney isn't scoring he still brings a lot to the team. Can you say that about Falcao? I don't think so. To say Rooney is finished because he didn't score that many goals this season is very naive because it is clear as daylight that he wasn't playing as the main striker anymore due to RVP's introduction to the team which forced him to have more of an assistance role. He would be an Ashley Cole esque signing IMO.
  18. Moyes is already United's new manager in my books.
  19. Sorry for going off topic & no offence but you shouldn't let what a few users think on an online forum make you stop being a CFC fan? He clearly said he was joking as well... Sounds to me you're just looking for any tiny excuse to stop being a CFC fan.
  20. Yeah I agree. Luiz and Ramires ran out of steam in the last 15 or so, which definitely coincidences with Tottenham's equaliser. How Rafa then decided to take off a hard working Oscar who helps the pivot, who were really tiring, a lot defensively and then sticks on Benayoun... I don't know. I was speechless. The logical thing would be to bring on Lampard who's a lot better defensively than Benayoun and also gives you a better offensive outlet.
