  1. That is the third kit but the away kit doesn't have red on it.
  2. I think that's the 3rd kit. You can sort of see the away kit as well though in that... Thanks Chelsea Unseen!
  3. My point proven - Cahill is not our starting CB, and Jagielka certainly isn't an improvement on Terry or Ivanovic IMO. Luiz isn't some kid who needs an experienced CB to keep him focussed, this season has proven that exactly - he's been our best CB this season even though JT, our most experienced defender, hasn't been in the team that often. We need a defender who compliments Luiz, someone in the mould of Terry. As I've said before, we can do a lot better than Jagielka. I still think JT's better. Jagielka's just getting a lot of love at the moment because he had a good game against Arsenal. No one mentioned him before that.
  4. The difference is though that players like Moses and Cahill are expected to start for Liverpool. They aren't for us. You need players like Moses and Cahill in your squad - football isn't just about having the best 11.
  5. Sad for us maybe but I'm very sure KDB doesn't mind as long as he gets regular playing time at a top club like Bayer Leverkusen!
  6. Because he's going out on loan to a Champion's League side where he'll get a lot of minutes? Now I want KDB to stay but a loan to Leverkusen isn't the worst thing.
  7. Would you have Jagielka as your starting CB over Terry, Ivanovic or Cahill? I wouldn't. If we are going to buy a CB I'd prefer if we bought one that is infinitely better than Jagielka, not to mention younger too.
  8. He's 30. Can't see us signing a 30 y/o CB.
  9. That isn't the real voting system. Only PFA players (fellow professional footballers) vote.
  10. That's one of the daftest things I've read. Individual awards are not an indicator as to how well a team has performed but to how well a player has. Every sport has individual awards because there will always be a debate about who's the best individual. It doesn't take away from team effort. For example, the Ballon D'Or isn't anywhere near as important as winning the WC or CL.
  11. 1. Mata is better through the middle. 2. Mata does not have burning pace. 3. Mata does not have the acceleration to constantly weave past his man like Hazard or Moses does.
  12. Nah. I know Jagielka had a good performance against Arsenal but we can do far better IMO. Not to mention he's 30.
  13. Good news. Didn't know Marin was out injured tbh.
  14. Nominations for PFA Players' Player of the Year 2013 Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) Michael Carrick (Manchester United) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Juan Mata (Chelsea) Luis Suarez (Liverpool) Robin van Persie (Manchester United) Nominations for PFA Young Player of the Year 2013 Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa) Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) Danny Welbeck (Manchester United) Jack Wilshere (Arsenal) Delighted to see Lukaku in there, glad he got the recognition. Also glad Hazard (twice) and Mata are in there.
  15. Realistically? Likely outs: Turnbull, Hilario, Paulo, Lampard(?), Benayoun, Malouda, Marin(?) Likely ins: A new goalkeeper, a deep lying playmaking midfielder, a defensive midfielder, KDB back, Schurrle, A striker/Lukaku back. I honestly don't think Torres is gonna go next season. Next season: GK: Cech, x, Blackman(promoted) Defenders: Azpilicueta, Ivanovic, Terry, Luiz, Cahill, Cole, Bertrand. Midfield: x, x, Mikel, Ramires, KDB, Romeu, Oscar, Lampard(?) Forwards: Torres, Lukaku(?), Ba, Hazard, Mata, Schurrle, KDB, Oscar, Moses. 25 man squad. This is what we can realistically expect next season I think and it isn't a bad squad make up at all. It strong in all areas. Don't forget we potentially have the likes of Kakuta, Kalas, Omeruo, PvA, Chalobah and Josh coming back too but I think they'll all go out on loan again.
  16. Welcome! Well, who do you think people on a CFC forum will tell you to support? You really shouldn't support anyone based off one match! Just try and watch the EPL on a regular basis and pick the team that you like the most and a team that you can identify yourself with.
  17. Far too many people overestimate the effect of FFP.
  18. Why are people acting as if we only have £20m to spend for next season? Now I know Schurrle is not needed as much as say a midfielder but the Schurrle signing makes sense to me. Look at our squad this season - the likes of Mata, Hazard and Oscar have played far too many games and this is simply because the back up we have for them is not good enough. Marin, who I think is a decent player but needs to play constantly for him to be useful, is not the player I would like to see replace Hazard or Mata if they went down injured for a long spell. Marin needs to leave for the sake of his own career. If you want to heavily challenge on all fronts, good squad players are vital. It's about the depth of your squad. Schurrle isn't coming here to start week in week out - he's coming here to bolster our weak depth. €20m for a squad player is the norm these days anyway - look at United for example who've spent £17m on Valencia, around £20m for Ashley Young, around the same for Nani. United win the league this season because they have players who can step in when their starters need a rest/are injured. That's the main difference between us and them now. I know KDB is coming back as well but he offers us a different skill set compared to Schurrle. I still believe that he might be converted to play as a deeper midfielder as I really think his strengths are there but of course, he's a nice option to have when Mata/Hazard/Oscar aren't playing in the -3- either. Presumably, maybe our next manager might even play 4-3-3 which KDB can excel in as well. Becoming dominant in football isn't only about having the best 11. It's about having the best squad. With KDB and Schurrle coming in we'll certainly be up there. KDB, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Schurrle, Moses, Ramires, Mikel, Romeu, Lampard/[new midfielder], [new midfielder] is a big upgrade from: Benayoun, Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Marin, Moses, Ramires, Mikel, Romeu, Lampard. It changes from having to start (when resting Oscar, Mata & Hazard for example): Marin - Benayoun - Moses to Schurrle - KDB - Moses or Schurrle - Oscar - Hazard or Schurrle - Mata - Moses etc. We'll have more options and we'll be far more unpredictable. Also don't forget that the new manager might put Oscar or KDB in the pivot which opens up another spot in the -3-. Personally, I'm all for this signing. €20m for a good squad player is a decent price - it makes sense to me.
  19. John Terry reaffirmed yesterday that he thinks Luiz is a future captain here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/18/david-luiz-chelsea-captain-john-terry
