Nah nah nah nah this guy is just the best player in the league. Playing like a top 3 player in the world at the moment. It looks like playing centrally has taken him up another level. Thank you Conte. Now, let’s sign him up for another 15 years, he’d probably still be amazing at age 40. What a talent. He’s so direct and purposeful this season. He’s finally maturing into a leader. We need to surround this guy with world class talent - he could truly lead a golden generation at CFC if we’re smart - but I’m scared these people at the top will just do the bare minimum.

I do agree that certain awards are a bit of a joke due to voting processes but the Golden Boy awards aren’t too bad. If you look at how the Golden Boy is picked and who picks it, and if we look at the last few winners - Mbappé, Sanches, Martial, Sterling, Pogba, Isco, Götze - they have a pretty good track record when it comes down to it so I do appreciate it with a lot more credence. I do agree on your assessment on him being YPOT in the Euros was more to do with him being part of the winning team, but he did play with a maturity way beyond his age. I must also say it probably had some influence in nudging him ahead of Rashford for the award, but I don’t think it was a huge factor. Renato shot off too early to Munich. Sort of same problem someone like Hojbjerg had. He didn’t get much game time whatsoever, and after all the hype and awards the spot light is on you, mistakes are highlighted even more and that can easily knock an 18 year old’s confidence. He should’ve stayed in Portugal, less spot light, way more time to refine his game etc. He already has some very interesting talents - his press resistance is great for example, and he has great technique and great stamina - he’s a tailor made modern B2B midfielder. At Swansea however the quality of his team mates aren’t too great. Even Tammy is having the same problem imo. He was genuinely misplacing the easiest passes on Wednesday, felt sorry for him. Clement did well to take him off to protect him. People forget the guy just turned 20 2/3 months ago.

I think two things. He still needs to get used to the pace of the league (like Alvaro in some aspects) and the injury and no pre season this summer has softened his physique. He looked much bigger/athletic at Monaco.

Scores a winner, has a top game and still no love for Rüdiger. This is the talent level all of our squad players should at least be on imo.

Again, two things he needs to work on big time - his balance, and his finishing. It’d transform him to the next level and a bonafide world class striker. He’s still a talent. I’ve said I’m not really going to judge him too much this season because I do believe he still needs to acclimatise to England.

Completely disagree, just looks like a player completely shot of confidence. He had a great season at Benfica before he went to Bayern - completely the wrong move. The talent is there but he’s completely lost his way. He needs to maybe find himself a good club in Spain or Germany where he needs a good coach that can bring out his talent. Sanches won the Golden Boy award last year - an award given to the best U21 player in Europe (not the Euros) so plenty of professional football people rate his talent. He should’ve stayed in Portugal.

Always did say he isn’t clinical enough, it’s one thing Lukaku is better at - but he can improve. He needs to do extra finishing work at training, especially finishing after relatively long (or bursts of) dribbles. He gets himself into excellent positions. Better off the ball movement than I thought.

Really good game, should’ve ended with like 2/3 assists if Morata has his shooting boots on.

I say we chuck them £40m + Willian in return for Shaw and Martial.

Honestly. Bakayoko is just 23 and in his first season at Chelsea and he’s comparing him to Cahill and Oscar’s 3rd/4th/5th season here. Won’t even give him a chance.
