  1. People are actually blaming Eden even though we have so many other real problems in the team... wow.
  2. My biggest worry with Morata is his lack of fight. It keeps rearing it’s head even though he has shown glimpses of fight. Thoroughly bullied by old school English defending. And his finishing? Well...
  3. @Jason in fact, this is what my football community’s account tweeted just a few hours ago.
  4. I’m not necessarily agreeing with the rankings. My point is in any rankings Mbappé should be rated as having a better year than Eden.
  5. Caught him in the Copa Libertadores. We won’t sign him because we don’t sign the best talents from Brazil...
  6. In those 5 months Mbappé massively helped his team beat PSG to the title and also stepped it up with big performances in the CL against top teams like Madrid up until Monaco got eliminated in the semis. The fact he was doing this at 17/18 is the most impressive bit. Mbappé should be higher because of his European exploits, which Eden didn’t participate in last season, hence why I believe he was ranked so low. Mbappé was probably a top 5 player during his big run of form last season. He’s also not doing too badly at PSG.
  7. I agree that we need that sort of profile in the squad, which is why I was so against the Drinkwater deal, especially after we already signed Bakayoko. @MrExcalibur100 just now suggested someone like Dahoud from BVB as a good example, which I’m in total agreement with.
  8. Bosz is a strange one sometimes. He didn’t playing Weigl in the right manner either and his game has suffered a lot this season. Midfield should’ve been revolved around these two. Don’t know why we don’t look at technical players like him - proper complete CM who’s stand out qualities excel in the final third.
  9. Of course - nothing wrong with wanting him to improve though. Don’t see much cynicism going on in here apart from one person.
  10. We need to try this when chasing a game: Morata Batshuayi Hazard Kante Fabregas
  11. Yeah I did say he was ok, but not really spectacular. A real quality player would’ve actually made the difference imo. I think our wing backs are the first thing we need to upgrade. Moses is looking quite good though - and I can’t really see anyone on the market who’s actually much better atm. Sandro/LWB is the first name on the shopping list for me also because we lack real depth there. On Batshuayi, I thought he was refreshingly decent tonight. Morata - Batshuayi might work quite well.
  12. Need this guy to rear his head sometime soon: If we look at the difference between his performance here and his current performances, to me it looks like he’s lost his athleticism a little bit as I mentioned before. He’s smaller and has lost that explosive step that was the most interesting bit about him as a player. The consequences, along with the speed of the English game being a bit faster, are clear. He has far less time on the ball here, and that combined with the fact that he can’t shield the ball anywhere near as well as he used to, are proving a big challenge for him. I don’t think we’ll see the best of Bakayoko for sometime. He’s lost his general enthusiasm for the game a bit as well so he’s making stupid errors. I think The Mak was spot on about him needing a year or two to adjust at CFC before we see the best of him. It’s just weird, like I mentioned just before, how we’ve essentially signed a project when we’ve already got our own projects in midfield. Testing time in the young man’s career.
  13. GIFs are GIFs. If I showed you one of Bakayoko doing something kind of similar, what would you say? I like Savic but we’ve got his profile in the squad covered in Bakayoko and Drinkwater. Unless we sold one or the other I’d rather get us in a midfielder with a different profile (a bit more creative, offensive). Savic is a huge presence in midfield but he’s not really known for his technique (which is rather good still) is my point. edit: Found something:
  14. Sandro plays today and we probably comfortably beat Atleti. There were periods in the game where our pressure on their back line was immense, and we just needed a bit more quality in the final third. Zappa was ok but that’s all he’ll ever will be.
  15. He’s not having a good time at all. Had a similar start to his Monaco career funnily enough. He needs time, but it’s quite funny how CFC are ok with that but when it comes to their own talents (e.g. RLC) it’s another story.
  16. Quality. If our players could finish he’d have instigated a proper comeback against a top side. It seems like his level has truly gone up this season.
  17. That has more to do with Barcelona fans disliking Neymar in general and Chelsea fans loving Hazard as per. Ask the wider football community and the answer won’t be anywhere near as clear cut as that. They’re both great players at the top level, and will always be compared because they’re both consistent too performers, end of (for me anyway).
  18. West Ham A Huddersfield A Southampton H Everton A Brighton H Stoke H Next 6 games. He needs to bully.
  19. Nah, I just think Jose likes Lukaku’s (new) mentality now.
  20. My sentiment regarding this fella will always stay the same. Decent player, should never be the actual starting LB in the team though.
  21. Actually disagree. I think Neymar is one of those very few players, like Hazard, who can literally carry sides. He doesn’t need a specific system to be the consistent game changer he is. His performances with Brazil over the years are massive indicators. Don’t forget WC14 where he literally carried Brazil’s game going forward for example. He had Fred, Oscar and Hulk as attacking companions lol.
