Why’s this thread so quiet? What a promising performance that was from Bakayoko. Not surprised that happens now he had a competent midfield partner in Kanté. Really needs to work on his finishing though. Could’ve had a couple goals today.

Bakayoko bar his miss having a promising game. Not a surprise now Kante’s back. Alonso holding us back severely. Good half though.

He’s not a bad option off the bench tbh. I think that’s what we need to use him as - like Conte did last season.

His passing isn’t that bad. He’s had games at Monaco where he’s consistently broken the lines and provided top assists/passes. The team’s whole level isn’t great right now, it’s silly to write off a player this soon when he’s not had the greatest environment to show off his quality.

Btw, think it’s actually fair to say that we’ve downgraded in almost every apartment bar CB and GK this season.

Again bad but the whole team’s been performing terribly for weeks now imo. This is why I said we shouldn’t be selling Matic for DD - TB coming back from a long injury only to be thrown into the side like that was bound to have these sort of performances happening. Plus the fact that he’s still raw as a player and needs time. Also, coupled with the fact that he’s possibly pairing up with one of the worst CMs in the world when it comes to defending or controlling a midfield battle atm... Feel like he’s going to be scapegoated unfairly. Kante needed back ASAP - much better when he plays.

Morata awful. Fabregas’ worst performance in a CFC shirt. Courtois has to be better. No spirit in the team atm. This goes back to the awful transfer window we had. I’m not surprised. I told you lot that we’re only challenging top 4 this season.

I get that argument. Your initial post was a lot harsher though. The guy has a lot of growing left in him imo. He hasn’t even played a 100 league games in his career (132 in total with CL/Cup games). Plenty of areas for him to improve in i.e. his concentration and decision making but that’ll come with time.

His future is definitely at CB but looks like he can grow into a proper pro footballer. It’s whether he can refine his technique a bit more now. If so, has a future as a neat ball playing CB for me. Once he sorts out his passing technique (which he has scope to - has the vision, maybe not execution yet), he’ll probably make it here at least as a squad player.

I agree with the notion but still think him putting on some muscle would aid his game immensely.

He needs to put on like 4-5 kg of pure muscle. Upper body strength, squatting etc.

This would be extremely efficient if we only had top class wing backs...
