So you're saying it wouldn't be disgusting if Rooney was on 250k but it is if he's on 300k? I don't agree with Rooney being worth 300k because he simply isn't worth that much, that's right, but that doesn't mean it's "disgusting" - and to use poverty as a reason to why it's disgusting is ridiculous, which is what my main argument is. It's not about the amount so much, it's just ridiculous in general to say that footballers are disgusting for earning big wages because there is still poverty around is funny.

No he has not. Games since Mata left: 1-0 Stoke: Came on in the 81st minute, so doesn't really count. 0-0 West Ham: Was very good, one of the better players on the pitch. 1-0 City: Had a good game, could've done better in the final third but defensively he was fantastic. 3-0 Newcastle: Was again decent, linked up well with Oscar, Eto'o and Hazard. 1-1 WBA: Was probably our man of the match in that game. 0-2 City: Was his first real bad game in a while, but the whole team were rubbish in that game anyway. He has not been terrible.

So it's just me and Rmpr left in the 100% gang? Not surprised
-
So someone shouldn't get paid big money because there is poverty in the world? Don't understand how it's "disgusting".

5.5 years, 300k a week. That's £85.8m before tax. Amazing deal for Wayne.
-
Those stats are false because Torres has 28 appearances.
-
I don't think around £20m is unrealistic for a top class GK like Cech. I also did say £40m for Courtois would be a ridiculous fee but Buffon went for £32m in 2001.
-
They are pretty much on the same level IMO. Cech edges it because of experience.

I agree that he'll go to the club that offers him the best terms but he wouldn't boycott a move just to get Atletico a few extra millions. His price is pretty much set in stone - the only thing he can perhaps do to change that is sign a new contract which has a higher release clause.
-
He's like a pivot made Lampard, honestly against teams that we do find difficult to break down he'd be a fantastic weapon. If he doesn't get a new contract at Bayern we'd be stupid to not offer for him. He also provides another great option at CAM (more creative than Oscar) should we need to push him up there. It would be a great signing. Only player in his mold I'd probably sign over him is Gundogan.
-
#ILLUMINATIOn a serious note, Alves scored in the 90th minute so that is in fact incorrect.
-
His release clause is £32m. Doesn't matter if he has a good WC or not.

Rafa Benitez: 'Hes one of the best central defenders in the world, says Benitez. I was coaching him and I can tell you hes one of the best in the world, because he has everything. You just have to manage him properly - and then he is one of the best in the world.' Jose Mourinho: 'For me, Luiz is a central defender. I think he has an important quality for the football we want to play, which is to build. He's comfortable using the ball from the back.' 'In this aspect, he's very important and different from the other central defenders. He can improve, everybody can. From a defensive point of view, he can be much more effective, much more solid. But, for me, the potential is incredible, amazing.'

Guy's immense but if we get a crazy £40m offer I wouldn't mind selling him because it means funds so we can reinforce in other areas. If Cech can stay healthy for around a decade it's good business. At the same time I wouldn't mind if we got like a £20m offer for Cech and held onto Courtois. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

When had Mourinho blamed the referees this season?
-
He used to have it in him (in regards to that long ball that requires a decent amount of vision) but it's been beaten out of him basically. I remember he used to do them under Ancelotti, who encouraged Mikel to provide those quick forward passes but as I said above he's completely cut it out of his game. I think Ancelotti once said that he's trying to turn Mikel into a Pirlo type player and he certainly had the ability to back then but we just don't see it in his game anymore. Here's a decent video of Mikel in Ancelotti's second season, the long passes are highlighted at around 0:45: http://youtu.be/6T-7T2rza3k He was more positive and creative with his passing but all of that has pretty much been beaten out of him, he's just told to keep it very simple because his main strength is holding onto the ball and recycling possession, which could work very well in a possession based team. Ironically, for Nigeria he's a completely different player who does do the flicks, the long passes, even finds himself in the box more often. It's weird how he can't translate a fragment of that into his play at CFC because he can be much more dynamic.

As you said, this Man City team is good, but the way some try to describe them as the best in the world is absurd. Still comfortably behind Real, Barca and Bayern and only a shade better than us as their main players are all in their prime. Overhyped.

As you know I'm a supporter of the Lukaku loan because I don't think he would've played half as much had he stayed here (Jose wouldn't play him enough I think) but I agree, Nat could've 100% been here instead of Essien and would've progressed better if he was in and around the squad and probably would've had a few games here and there as well. All we can hope for right now is that he hopefully figures in Jose's plan next season.
-
He really is, him and Ibra have such similar career paths it's crazy. He's matured a bit at Milan, if he comes here at CFC and is fully focused he'd be a magnificent striker for us, and like you said, wouldn't be too expensive either.
-
It wasn't that strange lol, even WhoScored had him down as our second highest rated player in that game, so people calling him the MOTM for us in that game isn't really that unfathomed.
-
Pellers is an idiot for those comments. Yeah it wasn't a penalty but to say that Barcelona won because the referee was on their side is bogus. Barca created enough to score at least 3.
-
But Eto'o has been better this season whether you like it or not. Unless you're talking about the amount of CL wins both have... But in that case Eto'o also eclipses Torres. Otherwise, I don't know how what Torres did for us in that CL run makes him better than Eto'o... That's a daft thing to say.

fantastic goal.

I wasn't attacking your post, I was using it as a point of reference. Off topic but wouldn't say Luiz is our worst CB either. What I can agree with though is that he is having the worst season out of our CBs. On form and fully focused he's a top CB, as we saw last season.
