  1. He WAS consistently good at CB for us though, especially in the second half of last season, which you always completely seem to forget. So Ivanovic couldn't have done more to stop the cross? Was the cross an average cross? Couldn't Cech perhaps have gotten there or put some pressure on Anichebe by going for the ball since he did come off his line? It wasn't an exceptional run, but that goes without saying. I'm not absorbing Luiz of any blame in the goal, he was definitely partially at fault, but you're acting like it was solely his when there were other factors that affected it.
  2. Luiz is the sort of CB that goes for the interception more oft than not, regardless of who he's facing. He wasn't amazing against Victor but he didn't really struggle either. Again I ask, I would love to know the plethora of powerful strikers Luiz has struggled against?
  3. I've acknowledged he could've done better but honestly you're acting like he's never had a good game at CB here for us when you and I both know that's far from the truth. Whilst they had 11 shots to begin with. Yeah only one was on target but to say that only one was threatening? Come on... The simple answer is that it was a great cross. What I think was going through Luiz head is that he saw Cech coming off the line to claim the ball and thought Cech would get it, so he decided he didn't want to collide with Cech so they both don't end up injured.
  4. Having watched the goal a few times it looked like Cech stopped, he should've at least made an attempt to go for the ball. I'll have to watch it again to see whether what you're saying is correct, but from what I saw I though Cech should've either made the decision to stay on his line or to attempt to go for the ball. He did neither.
  5. Sorry, was he bullied by Anichebe? He didn't struggle against Victor, he just didn't mark him for the goal.If you can give me more examples of Luiz struggling against physical strikers then go ahead, if not then sorry I don't think your claim is right.
  6. Glad people are realising that if Cech comes out for this, it isn't a goal. Luiz should've stayed on Anichebe for sure but Cech stopping when the ball was mid-flight was equally as bad.
  7. God, the overreaction in here is amazing. Yeah Luiz should've done better with Anichebe but why are people acting like he's never had a good game at CB for us? Laughing at how supposedly Luiz isn't good enough to be a CB here but is the starting CB for a top international team like Brazil? People need to relax. We should've played a lot better against WBA in general, those basically scapegoating Luiz for the draw just have an agenda against him IMO.
  8. WBA at home against the top half teams this year: Chelsea - Draw Liverpool - Draw Everton - Draw Newcastle - Win Man City - Loss (by 1 goal after going down 3) Arsenal - Draw They're good against bigger sides at home, very motivated. Those acting like WBA are getting rolled over by the bigger teams this year really need to stop lying.
  9. Brilliant flick = Chelsea goal. Sorry, but to blame the goal entirely on Luiz is nonsensical. He should've perhaps stayed with Anichebe, but at the same time Cech should've come out and claimed it.
  10. It's not just the injuries though, it's the fact that he wanted to leave and the fact that we got good money as well which you're overlooking. It wasn't a bad sale, and it wasn't like he was our Bale.
  11. It was, player didn't want to stay and Real offered good money (35m euros). He was also very injury prone at the time.
  12. Lukaku would've definitely provided more than Ba, but as you said, he wouldn't sit around here being 3rd choice like Ba is. He would definitely moan/cry about it. He needed to go out for his development. IMO it's better that he's number 1 at Everton rather than number 2/3 at Chelsea.
  13. Not everyone! I remember a few of us said that loaning him was the right decision, regardless if he was scoring goals or not, especially considering Mourinho allowed it. Lukaku's always been known as a goalscorer, his main problems lie in other areas, which is what I have said from day one, which is why the Everton loan spell is good for him because he gets to be number 1 striker at a top 6 club who are challenging for CL. It is very funny how most that blasted a few of us for agreeing with the loan are now coming around though.
  14. It was Luiz's first game at CB in a while, at least give a few games to acclimatise before writing him off. And Luiz does not struggle against big physical strikers, he does quite well against them actually.
  15. The last player we sold to Madrid/Barca was Robben, and we were nowhere near as big of a club as we were then. It's not going to happen again, especially with Mou here. Unless we want to sell him. People need to stop crying. It'd have to be ridiculous money (like £120m+) for us to even consider selling Eden.
  16. Fernandinho - Ramires is my best pivot for Brazil, but Scolari doesn't really fancy either which is strange.
  17. Sturridge is not a small lad, he's 6ft and not exactly scrawny. We don't need an overly physical CF for this team IMO, a technical striker in the Eto'o/Benzema/Sturridge mould would be more than fine. If we need physicality up front we'll start Lukaku.
  18. Luiz and Cahill partnership again then. Hopefully get to see Matic and Ramires in the pivot too.
  19. Sturridge is great at holding on to the ball, he has great feet, has speed, charisma, has shown at Liverpool he can produce great assists and can obviously finish. IMO he's very well rounded apart from maybe his lack of right foot (which isn't that bad to begin with anyway). I think Mou would've loved him as a striker, especially if he could get that work rate out of him.
  20. As a pure DM, sure, but I loved the midfield 3 of Essien, Ballack and Lampard as they could all rotate and effect the final third. Offensively, Essien >>>>>>>>>>> Makelele.
  21. Pogba - Matic wouldn't be fair to the PL.
  22. Same team, just get JT and Ramires in for Luiz and Lampard.
  23. He was really good offensively today (by his standards), that's more like it Branislav.
