  1. He's getting there. Another 30+ goal season and then we can seriously talk.
  2. Luis was one of the best all round left backs in Europe last year, if not the best. He'll get his chance.
  3. Possibly. Mainly due to his impeccable ability in the air. Minus aerial ability I'd say Henry though, maybe Ronaldo 9 too but aerial ability is important in determining a complete striker so yeah. King DD all the way. IMO he never truly gets the recognition he truly deserves.
  4. Drogba's touch was on and off for me. Sometimes it would be so exquisite you'd be thinking, 'how does a big man like that pull that off?', Zlatan-esque. Other times it was very poor. I agree in his prime that he was probably one of if not the best complete CF in the world but I can also see Costa reaching that level. If he does then we'll be able to compare.
  5. Haha I agree. With Jose as manager it'll definitely be a more balanced version though, but naturally we'll see a lot more high scoring games than last season because of the profile of the squad now after some great attacking additions.
  6. All of that is true but I do think Costa has better technique than Drogba in general (not to say Drogba's technique was bad obviously!). Also seems a bit more explosive than Didier. If Costa has a similar career to King DD though, happy times ahead.
  7. I agree, but are our players fully accustomed to the system like Dortmund's players are? Doubt it very much. Was speaking from that view point.
  8. Haha well, we haven't fully established our style yet but it's definitely fully taking shape this season, hence why I said it that way around.
  9. AOC would potentially be pushing for a starting spot here depending on form and development I think, can't say the same about Salah tbh.
  10. Contrary to the popular belief, Dortmund sort of play the type of football Jose's trying to implement here I believe.
  11. Solid point with Wilshere tbh, might be unpopular but he could possibly start over Oscar here (as I can see him performing Oscar's duties perhaps?). He has good work rate and a good motor, clever player but has a bit more finesse than Oscar in his vision of the pitch. Oscar is probably the better goal threat though. Wilshere would be a really interesting one IMO.
  12. We must hope that the likes of Baker, RLC, Chalobah, Solanke etc. make the step up over the years. I would rather try to develop those under our books because the top English talent out there isn't that impressive, and it would be way too costly. Imagine bringing in a Barkley for example? He would cost north of £30m, and that isn't justified at all. Sterling would be the same.
  13. What will you do if it doesn't happen?
  14. Yes, playing online on a console Jase... Get with the times
  15. Yup I agree. Ramires is a must for me in big games because of the legs he adds to our midfield. He needs to improve defensively though, he's a lot better than what he showed against Everton.
  16. In our system, it's much better he operates from deep simply because he'll have more time and space to pick out his runs from deep and also more vision on the pitch. I'm not basing this on what he's done here, just basing it on his attributes as a player. He'll be able to ping through balls better instead of constantly being surrounded in tight spaces by their CMs and CBs.
  17. Fabregas an 84? EA will definitely upgrade it back to at least 86 this season tbh. It's not like he even had a bad year last year? That's awful.
  18. But Fabregas operates better when his starting position is from deep. Oscar thus provides a much better platform for Fabregas to have a bigger influence on the game, and also aids us a lot better in ball retention.
  19. They don't do it as well as Oscar does.
  20. To me, it's not even about that anymore tbh. I've accepted that Oscar is an unconventional, unorthodox number 10, with a different role compared to your traditional number 10. What Oscar allows is a platform for someone like Fabregas to dictate the game at a more effective rate. Frees Fabregas from his defensive shackles a lot.
