They still seriously need some WC CBs though. Rojo is a bad signing, Smalling & Jones aren't fulfilling their early potential (add Rafael to that), Evans is bang average... - they've been training under the 3-5-2 system predominantly this season - no stability on their back four - no chemistry with so many new players... There's too much to do. I don't think they'll mount anything serious this season no. Maybe next year.
True, but don't forget they can always slightly alter their tactics and play Silva or Yaya or even Nasri at CAM behind Jovetic or Dzeko if that happened. They're okay.
Yeah I know. Obviously our system should be getting Hazard into that 1 on 1 position more often but Hazard at the same time as sometimes too laid back when he's 1 on 1. The Everton game is a perfect example. For the OG he decides to destroy his marker - could've done the same when he was 1 on 1 vs. Lukaku but he declined to.
Completely disagree. Giroud's link up play and passing ability is actually one of the best in the league (for a striker). Guy doesn't have 21 assists in 3 years at Arsenal for fun.
Welbeck's link up play isn't too bad though but Giroud has that advantage over him. Welbeck's main advantage over Giroud is his pace and his (ok) ability to run at people.
Disagree. Can't put Sturridge in the same boat as Lukaku. Sturridge was generally mistreated. Torres was absolutely horse shit for a while and he still couldn't get a game, despite supposedly being 2nd choice. He wasn't given a fair chance, he didn't run away like Lukaku did. I think if we actually gave Sturridge some proper 2nd choice striker minutes in that period he'd still be here.
Welbeck is naturally a striker who is shafted out wide to accommodate for Rooney and RVP... Not that I highly rate Welbeck or anything but Huntelaar is a very, very limited player IMO. I think Welbeck plays a lot better up front. Never given a proper chance as a CF tbh.
