  1. They still seriously need some WC CBs though. Rojo is a bad signing, Smalling & Jones aren't fulfilling their early potential (add Rafael to that), Evans is bang average... - they've been training under the 3-5-2 system predominantly this season - no stability on their back four - no chemistry with so many new players... There's too much to do. I don't think they'll mount anything serious this season no. Maybe next year.
  2. Di Maria and Falcao in one window though... Crazy stuff. I'm just delighted they still have massive holes in their squad.
  3. I know that's a joke but Rooney actually looks in great condition atm.
  4. True, but don't forget they can always slightly alter their tactics and play Silva or Yaya or even Nasri at CAM behind Jovetic or Dzeko if that happened. They're okay.
  5. Yeah maybe not. Guess we could make it a top 4 of Neuer, Courtois, Cech and Schwarzer then.
  6. They'll reinvest it in January, guaranteed.
  7. Top 3 GKs are Neuer, Courtois and Cech, no one else comes close to them IMO. Some gap between them and the rest.
  8. ......How is Dier a £50m player all of a sudden? Even Sterling is not worth £50m yet. He's at £25m-£30m max!
  9. Yeah I know. Obviously our system should be getting Hazard into that 1 on 1 position more often but Hazard at the same time as sometimes too laid back when he's 1 on 1. The Everton game is a perfect example. For the OG he decides to destroy his marker - could've done the same when he was 1 on 1 vs. Lukaku but he declined to.
  10. Gilvorak on his beloved Torres, January 2014:
  11. Completely disagree. Giroud's link up play and passing ability is actually one of the best in the league (for a striker). Guy doesn't have 21 assists in 3 years at Arsenal for fun. Welbeck's link up play isn't too bad though but Giroud has that advantage over him. Welbeck's main advantage over Giroud is his pace and his (ok) ability to run at people.
  12. Disagree. Can't put Sturridge in the same boat as Lukaku. Sturridge was generally mistreated. Torres was absolutely horse shit for a while and he still couldn't get a game, despite supposedly being 2nd choice. He wasn't given a fair chance, he didn't run away like Lukaku did. I think if we actually gave Sturridge some proper 2nd choice striker minutes in that period he'd still be here.
  13. He needs to do it more often. He's one of the best 1 on 1 dribblers in the world but he doesn't utilise it enough.
  14. What a change a few years has brought... The Arsenal team was just full of foreigners before.
  15. Welbeck is naturally a striker who is shafted out wide to accommodate for Rooney and RVP... Not that I highly rate Welbeck or anything but Huntelaar is a very, very limited player IMO. I think Welbeck plays a lot better up front. Never given a proper chance as a CF tbh.
  16. They've had an excellent transfer window, must be said.
  17. Welbeck and Huntelaar are on the same level, apart from Huntelaar's excellent finish he's worse than Danny in almost every other aspect.
  18. + Blind (14) = £146m, which is around €185m and Falcao's loan (£6m) = €191m or so, so yeah this is the most expensive transfer window ever by a team.
  19. Thought you meant in the PL. In that case I'm not really sure.
  20. "Falcao, Rooney and Van Persie = £866,000 per week in wages. Messi, Ronaldo and Bale = 850,000 per week in wages..." -- Twitter.
