I don’t know, too small of a sample to say for sure but I do feel we attack better as a team with Giroud leading the line against teams that sit deep regardless anyway since his holdup and linkup play is better than Morata’s.

Typical Morata coming on against tired legs vs. a team that’s looking to score hence why they’re quite open at the back, to look better than he actually is imo. He’s been nowhere near as effective when he starts since his slump in form.

His confidence is completely gone. Trying to keep it ticking rather than stand out atm.

Wow Morata’s finishing is seriously bad.

He’s only quicker, better dribbler and more dynamic. Everything else you’ve mentioned Giroud is either equal or better at. We actually play better football when Giroud leads the line and Giroud has scored/been involved in way better goals than Morata has in his career. At this moment Giroud is a more accomplished striker than Morata. Not to say that Morata can’t become better but at this moment let’s be honest with ourselves.

We don’t have either.

Kinda off topic but not qualifying for CL is gonna hurt this season. Lots of top players available it seems this summer...

Easily has more overall ability and quality than Alonso.

He’s actually better than Morata... our general attacking play is much better when he’s spearheading it.

Do I really have to bring up players like Salah or De Bruyne re: Mourinho and young attacking talent? The problem with Matic wasn’t that he was sold, it was that he wasn’t replaced properly. In this case, replacing Willian with Martial would be an upgrade imo.

I hope he’s been watching City this week. We lost top 4 when he decided we should surrender and “suffer” against City instead of showing some cojones. Showed them way too much respect and instead of building the momentum and confidence of the team he completely stifled it. It had a knock on effect for the games following them.

Would be great as a CM in a 433. Shame we’re not going CL though so players like Isco are really not even worth discussing.

Certainly missing his leadership in the team. The “risk” of playing Luiz means naff all these days since we make defensive mistakes all over the gaff all the time. Wish he was fit. We miss him in big games especially.

That’s why I’ll never understand why people say Courtois is worse than him. Even though Tbo is having a pretty rough period, he ain’t conceding those. Even the second goal he should’ve come out for a lot earlier.

CHO looks like he can impact games already even though he’s much younger than the two. He seems more ‘ready’ than those two ever were... it’s about whether they can consistently cope with the pace of the game at senior, top quality level - Musonda nor Boga have shown this.

Nah, Kane is way more complete than Icardi.
