Varane plays with maturity beyond his years. If Varane was as experienced as Zouma then I'd agree with this but that's not the case at all. Depending on Zouma's growth, Varane-Zouma would be fully ready in a season or two. It really depends on how well Kurt develops.

Well, Inter are a much bigger team than Fiorentina and have made some excellent signings recently. The Inter project is definitely far more interesting than Fiorentina's over the long term. Stop thinking so short term!

Mitrovic is technically better than Lukaku and also has better aerial presence and hold up play. Wouldn't mind him here as a 3rd choice tbh. Good striker who has a pretty high ceiling.

He didn't play extensively at LB though, he was more impressive in midfield in the Championship. And again, can't blame the board. We've already got a back up Arab (essentially Azpi) but Jose chose not to play him there.

Is Ake good enough to be our back up left back though? I don't know. Can't really blame the club when he was injured quite a bit this season and Jose never gave him much opportunity. You can't put that on the club tbh.

£30m would be the maximum I would go for him and £40m is a massive, massive stretch but if the club believe he's a must I'd be good with this. He has massive potential.

PSV won the league by 17 points, there was a clear difference of quality between both teams this season (and I'm saying this as an Ajax fan). Not even debatable. Their team was massively better and had a lot more talents in there than Ajax did. Of course now that it looks like they're losing two of their best players (Memphis already gone and Wijnaldum on the way out) they're a bit weaker, but last season they were by far the best team in the Eredivisie. Ajax weren't close. Even without Memphis PSV have the better team by quite a bit as it stands (this is without them re-spending the Memphis money).

So you want us to spend £20/£30m each on a couple of squad players?

I'm not disputing that point at all. I highly doubt Monaco will make the quarter final again too. My point is that the level at PSV is a lot higher than the rest of the division - if Charly goes there and is a starter, and has a season like Memphis did then that would be great for his development. Him starting every game at Monaco would be even harder than trying to break through at PSV for someone that has never played senior football at all! PSV is a very good team for him whether you rate the Dutch league or not.

None of those guys would start for us/improve the XI much at all, apart from Reus.

Oh and playing for Monaco will get him plenty more games will it?It doesn't change the fact that it's still a very good development ground for younger players. Starting at PSV isn't as easy as you're trying to make it seem. It'd be great for Charly.
