I think Amorim is a very intelligent manager. He knows when to suffocate opposition with attacking threats whilst also knowing when to set up a mid/low block defensive structure (Arsenal in Europa last season).
I think this has contributed to his phenomenal league record.
You can blame Poch for the past 9 months but certainly not Saturday. Only issue for me was him not putting in Chuku when we needed more quality going forward.
City fans are actually worried. They want Pep to field a strong team but given how we carved them open in the transition on both occasions, they feel fatigue will make it a field day for us.
He'll do his job which seems to rattle City, and that is be a dog without a leash harassing Rodri. Leave Enzo and Caicedo orchestrating the transition.
The fact we should be a lot fresher gives a lot of optimism. Cut out the individual errors and bring in the same ruthlessness up front like we saw against Everton, we should win.
But then again, game management is everything.
Caicedo in time will get better. Again I saw stats comparing him with Rice and they are similar despite the latter actually playing in his natural position.
It's Enzo I am worried about as I don't see a fit for him unless we play a 433.
A durable LB that can defend well. (Sell Cucurella)
An experienced RCB that is fast, can read the game well and is an aerial specialist. (Sell Chalobah + Silva leaving)
A fox in the box striker. (Jackson bench option or LW)
An experienced CM/DM that wouldn't mind being given the 'Mikel' role. (Loan out Lesly)
Honestly think these are the only 4 pressing matters at the moment. Bring those 4 in and solve our injury issues, we look way better.
Palmer is specifically RF for me. Against bottom half clubs we can afford to put him (or Nkunku ) as a second striker and Madueke at RW. 433/424 alterations.
Also works well when Kendry comes into the frame.
Wouldn't even say Palmer was playing at CAM. Looked like a ST or second striker.
We can get away with playing a 4-2-4 against lower opposition but I've seen Palmer enough to say this was an anomaly. He usually struggles when playing centrally as opposed to RW.
Linked with Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. Would be a very smart signing for a change. Looks like a complete midfielder.
Assuming this would be Gallagher's replacement if the link is true.
