Its only a 50% stake so doesn't completely remove us from the geo-political uncertainty. I still prefer Jim Ratcliffe (who is worth, as of this moment, more than Roman and Kellner combined, and is adding billions each year) as he is English (so no foreign ownership issues after Brexit) and also a bit older, so will bring (hopefully) an urgency to get us back to top 3 to 5 level in the world.

I have listed him in at least 2 other posts, I really rate him highly as well! Real Madrid will never sell now, I fear, unless crazy money was waived in their face.

CHO is getting NO football (I refuse to count youth league shite) NOBODY said win everything right away I detest normalcy bias and ostrich-like head-in-the-sand denialist, status-quo thinking and rationalisation NOT saying you are doing this, but fuck knows I see it all over the goddamn web. It is the same rot (starting with the board and cascading on down) that DESTROYED us each season after the last two titles I and others look ahead to future-forward events and projections and at potential (on every level) and innate abilities and also at financial and contractual matters and at resale values, and furthermore at externalities like the geo-political situation of Roman, etc etc etc etc etc. Its part of a basic critical thinking approach to life and it applies to sports the same as it does to real world business strategy plus academic pursuits. It is called a.............. SWOT ANALYSIS

Mbappe is more of a winger than a classic number 9 IMHO. Dybala is secondary striker but both would work in Sarriball. Now we just need Ratcliffe to buy the team (or Bezos!) and drop in a half billion in net spend (after selling out ALL the deadwood. LOLOL Maybe we should (like I have said before) go full nutter and try and sign Zlatan for 2 years. Even at 37 he is 5 times the striker that Morata and Giroud are combined. cloned

Sevilla want 55m euros for him, thats crazy for a striker who will be 29 in the summer, is very short, and has had only 11 and 9 league goals the last 2 seasons. PSG want him for a backup for last 2 years. He underwhelms me TBH. He might, however be a great Mertens role type player, but at his age, its not like he has a lot of upside or untapped potential. For that price I would rather roll with Rodrigo from Valencia, but they are now demanding CRAZY money I really dont like mid tier strikers, they now cost a shit tonne, are usually not so young, and are a huge gamble I either want a superstar in prime (aka Icardi, Dybala) super potential and banging in goals young one (Piatek or Jovic) or just use a stop gap 30 something proven goal banger for 2,3 years whilst we sort it long term (Cavani type)

★ Valentino Lazaro ★ 22 Year-Old Right Back now on Hertha Berlin Joined: Jul 1, 2018 Contract until: 30.06.2021 Best young Austrian player since Alaba and Marcel Sabitzer (I think he is better than Sabitzer, or soon will be) He was an AMF/RW, but now they switched him to RB, where he has been a revelation. Would be a tremendous buy, he is purpose built for Sarriball, explosive athlete, great passer, good footie IQ. Obviously good at the offensive end, but is a tenacious defender as well. Give me these 4 fullbacks over our current 4. (provided we get decent prices for our 4, I will say £135-150m for the lot. We have to sell to fund buys, its the way football works (even PSG and Shitty sell players) We could get these 4 for £20-40m or so less than selling off the 4 we have now, they are far young but still experienced, superb athletes, all are 2-way creative fullbacks with speed to burn. Or keep Azpi and Alonso and sell Emerson and Zappacosta, who have basically done fuckall since we bought both, (sorry Emerson fanboys), and just buy Firpo and Lazaro. Firpo would bench Alonso within a few games to half a season, and Lazaro would eventually replace Azpi within 2 to 3 year max (Azpi is 30 next season), maybe sooner. We could always move Azpi back to CB on double RB/CB rotation as well and avoid having to buy 2 CB's.(which we most definitely will have to do if deadwood Cahill is finally sold and then AC leaves) Not joking. If we want Alaba, Alex Sandro, Benjamin Mendy, Sergi Roberto type fullbacks but are not willing to dump £150m for just 2, then we have to buy extraordinarily talented young young (NOT teens per se) whilst there are still at the smaller clubs where they blew up at. LB Junior Firpo of Real Betis 22yo <<<<<<< prime starter eventually LB Ferland Mendy of Lyon 23yo RB Valentino Lazaro of Hertha 22yo <<<<<<<prime starter eventually, I am going to do a write-up OP on him, best young Austrian player since Alaba and Marcel Sabitzer (I think he is better than Sabitzer, or soon will be) He was an AMF/RW, but now they switched him to RB, where he has been a revelation RB Nordi Mukiele of RB Leipzig 21yo .. OR...RB Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Crystal Palace 20yo (English too, and already one of fastest fullbacks on the planet) other good young fullbacks who would be really affordable (RB is stronger than LB's here) LB Borna Sosa of Stuttgart 20yo LB Marcelo Saracchi of Leipzig 20 yo LB Aarón Martín of Mainz 21yo RB Achraf Hakimi of Borussia Dortmund 19yo RB Benjamin Henrichs now of Monaco (was on my favourite talent feeder team of the last 2 years, Bayer Leverkusen) 21yo RB Denzel Dumfries of PSV Eindhoven 22yo

Real 100%. Suarez going to Inter (which I think is crazy as he is soon going to hit the wall of age) doesn't preclude that. Barca really want Piatek. Just my 2 quid's worth. Who we actually have a shot at in January is Cavani (yes I know, stop-gap and all that, but at this point we are FUCKED without a striker who can score). Mbappe and Neymar are intentionally freezing him out in last 5, 6 games. It was SO obvious tonight. Tuchel has a nightmare on his hands. Yes, Cavani is 31yo and Morata 26, but Cavani is in superb shape (like Renaldo) and I can see 3 more good to great years out of him. I would straight swap Morata for him. I think PSG could rehab Morata, as Ligue 1 is weak and diving is a way of life there. Getting Cavani in January gives us 2 to 3 summer windows to REALLY sort out striker. He would be a goal machine in Sarriball. I just dont see other options atm. Lewandowski is 30yo and Bayern will still demand £90m to £100m to sell him, especially if Piatek and/or Werner don't move there. Fuck Suarez. I would rather miss CL ta have that cunt on our team. Dead serious. He is a fucking bellend at galactic level. Edin Dzeko (33yo in Match) is a year older than Cavani, so even more of a stopgap, I say NO on him. Paco Alcácer might be worth a shot, BUT now that he is finally getting time and exploding, Barca will either take him back or want CRAZY money. Maximiliano Gómez might be worth a shot, BUT again, big gamble and he will NOT come cheap at all, same for Giovanni Simeone at (gag) Fiorentina. Same for Alassane Plea at Borussia Mönchengladbach Cavani is a proven (at highest levels) massive goalscorer. I am at wits end over striker. I want to finish in top 4, hopefully top 2, and win EL. Cavani can do that for us. I think we also should buy and groom Luka Jovic of Eintracht Frankfurt a potentially superb young (20yo) CF whilst he is still affordable (he just scored 5 goals in a game as well, so obviously can find the back of the net) Matheus Cunha from RB Leipzig (19yo) is another one for grooming perhaps. Finally , the 17yo Pietro Pellegri whom Monaco just bought this summer. I think he is the next Italian superstar striker potentially, and Sarri would love him.

Barca (personal demand from Messi) want Pogba bad. PSG cannot seem to make up mind on whether to chase him or SMS and/or Kante. Juve would be third in terms of desire, Real not so much as Perez doesn't like him that much and HATES Mino Raiola. Bayern, Atletico Madrid, Shitty, Victimpool not a chance. AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, and Inter maybe, but they wont spend rhat type of cash. Matuidi and Khedira both turn 32 in April. Khedira is a mostly spent force already, Matuidi will be in 1 to 2 years or so, max. That leaves Juve with only the seemingly always injured Can, the still raw (but massively talented) Bentancur, and the magician Pjanic as their only other MF's. Pogba's game fits much better into Serie A or La Liga than it does in the EPL. I don't think it is a crazy move if Juve goes for him, I just don't think they will.

Bayern as well, and arguably the best overall fullback in LB Alaba, and also the best RB in Kimmich (although Sergi Roberto might be his equal, but I would go with Kimmich). Bayern has a lot of other issues though, as they are rapidly ageing up front, their CB's (other than Süle) are crashing out, they have MF injuries, and Neuer is a shadow of his pre injury self. Kovac is on the hot seat for sure.

Dortmund's interest in Hudson-Odoi opens door to Christian Pulisic deal https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/columnist/dortmunds-interest-in-hudson-odoi-opens-door-to-christian-pulisic-deal/ Reports are emerging claiming that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi. The success of fellow English youngster Jadon Sancho at Dortmund has convinced the German giants to invest in Hudson-Odoi. Their interest in the 17-year-old could open up a deal from which all parties could gain. It is in Hudson-Odoi’s interests to play regularly and at a high level. Sancho has received ample playing time. Hudson-Odoi would also play a lot of games, most importantly, in the Champions League. Chelsea could send him to Germany on a two year loan or even on a permanent transfer. After Hudson-Odio has developed and Eden Hazard has started to slow down or even leave, the Englishman could return to Chelsea at a reduced price. Of immediate benefit, Chelsea could use Dortmund’s interest in Hudson-Odoi to leverage the Germans into selling right winger Christian Pulisic. Chelsea are interested in signing Pulisic, although a massive price tag is a big stumbling block. A player of the American’s quality would be a great asset for Chelsea. They are in need of an attacking threat from the right who can take the load off Eden Hazard. snip only if he renews OR a buyback clause inserted plus I am not 100% sold on Pulisic yet

I have to admit, I see why Sarri rated Vecino. He has taken it up to another level this year so far. He is finally showing himself to be a great passer and seems far more dangerous going forward this year versus last year. Here is a taste of his passing atm (his cross for the game winning 92nd minute goal by Icardi in the Milano derby 3 days ago) what a cross! and that is after he has put in 12 kilometres at pace over 92 minutes will be very interesting to see him tonight v Barca

Swiss Court Lifts Lid on Abramovich's Aborted Residency Bid https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/swiss-court-lifts-lid-on-abramovich-s-aborted-residency-bid/44493502 (Bloomberg) -- Switzerland’s top court lifted reporting restrictions on the reasons for Roman Abramovich’s failed bid for residency in the Alpine nation, rejecting the Russian billionaire’s claims that disclosure would damage his reputation. The Supreme Court judges cited concerns raised by Swiss police that Abramovich was “suspected of money laundering” and had “presumed contacts with criminal organizations,” according to the text of the Sept. 21 decision released Tuesday. The owner of London’s Chelsea Football Club was seeking to keep the comments out of the public. These would make his residency in the country “a threat for public safety” and also “a reputational risk for Switzerland,” according to the document. Abramovich, through his lawyer, denies allegations of money laundering and ties to criminal organizations made by the Swiss authorities. Abramovich built his fortune from the sale of privatized assets acquired from the former Soviet Union, including Sibneft and Aeroflot. He’s worth an estimated $14.8 billion, based in part on his ownership in steelmaker Evraz and Norilsk Nickel, and is known for his close relations to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Despite his enormous wealth, Abramovich hasn’t been seen in London since the U.K. government failed to renew his visa in the spring, amid a sharp deterioration in relations between London and Moscow. snip Has Anyone Seen Roman Abramovich? The Last Days of Londongrad The Russian billionaire has avoided Britain for months and is preparing his finances to skirt the threat of American sanctions. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2018-09-25/has-anyone-seen-roman-abramovich-the-last-days-of-londongrad In late August, as supporters of Chelsea Football Club assembled at Stamford Bridge stadium to watch their team beat London rival Arsenal, a group in the upper deck unfurled a 40-foot blue-and-red banner. “The Roman Empire,” it shouted, beside an image of the team’s owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Just below, another banner trumpeted “15 Years, 15 Trophies.” Abramovich didn’t attend the game that day. In fact, he hasn’t been seen in London since the U.K. government failed to renew his visa in the spring, not long after it accused Russia of using a deadly nerve agent on British soil and relations between London and Moscow plunged into crisis. Abramovich bought Chelsea out of near-bankruptcy in 2003 for £140 million (about $223 million at the time) and has since loaned the club more than £1.1 billion. Until he came along, Chelsea hadn’t won the top domestic trophy, the Premier League title, since 1955. His big spending changed all that and set off a kind of arms race in English football. In some ways, it was similar to the U.S. model: Buy talent, buy titles, and sell merchandise and media rights. But unlike owners of American sports teams, Abramovich didn’t seem bothered by racking up huge losses. (And he didn’t have to contend with caps on spending, until new rules came into force in 2010.) At the Arsenal game, Chelsea supporters taunted their rivals with the chant “We’ve won it all!” to which Arsenal fans sang in response, “You’ve bought it all!” Chelsea fans still love their high-rolling owner, even as the U.K. government hits back at the Kremlin. Now Abramovich is mulling a sale of Chelsea, frustrated by his British visa problems and concerned about the potential fallout should the U.S. expand sanctions against wealthy Russians and target him. He’s already rejected bids for the club in excess of $2.3 billion—which would be a world-record price for a sports team—according to people familiar with the talks. Earlier this year, Abramovich hired Raine Group LLC, a merchant bank in New York, to advise on the possibility of a full or partial sale of the club. A person familiar with the discussions says Abramovich wants £3 billion. Abramovich’s representatives declined multiple requests for comment for this story and insisted all communication go through his lawyers, who also declined to comment. With a $14.7 billion fortune derived from oil and metals, Abramovich holds his enormous wealth at the pleasure of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a status that’s put him in the crossfire of the Cold War 2.0 that’s been brewing. It’s not only his visa that’s been effectively stonewalled: In seeking ways to punish Putin, British officials appear to be slow-walking most Russian visa applications, according to immigration lawyers in London. At the same time, the government is scrutinizing the wealth of Russians using London as their base, and lawmakers have begun calling the influx of Russian cash a national security issue. snip

Jesus fucking christ. We are so fucked. Next will be the Willian and Luiz extensions. Can't wait to hear the status quo/settle crew comments full of praise on those. My stance will be proven to be correct. That is not cockiness, that is not playa hating, it is reality. A non top 4 finish this year basically destroys the club on terms of WC footie for multiple years (Hazard will surely leave as well) unless we are sold to an owner who puts real football people in charge, not Sibneft mafia draw-downers. Just shocked that more do not see this lipstick-on-a-pig modus operandi.

Lolol (and crying, especially when adding in my other extreme Sarriball want fullback, RB Cancelo) 3 years plus of trying for Sandro, 3 years of Italian ass fucking to show for it. Not even a box of chocolates for conciliation.
-
If this is a January move, I fear it might take £80m plus AND Morata. This all could have been avoided. See my crazy number of previous posts on the subject. I have been on the Icardi/Dybala train since Sampdoria/Palermo days.

Sidibe has regressed the last season and a half, unfortunately. I would be much more open to a 2 for 1 swap: Benjamin Henrichs and Pietro Pellegri. Toss in £10-15m to grease the deal. I think we need to use our buyback option on Åke. He is a truly rock solid EPL CB, and we will never spend the cash on the CB we SHOULD buy, de Ligt.
