I am game to give Maatsen a shot versus a shit team, but I am truly worried at how short he is, I need to see a lot more of him If he was 1.78m to 1.83m or so, I would be far less worried what happens IF we swing and miss on Chillwell but Maatsen is only 1.68m tall and Roberto Carlos he is not he looks like he could be Zouma's 12 year old son (not that Zouma is old enough to have a 12 year old son, lolol)

One third of the season done, biggest questions on the roster going forward list Backup GK Willy Caballero (He turns 39 in the second month of next season) Replace, it is so easy to find an okay backup, so should be zero drama CB Andreas Christensen Sell (especially as Barca wants him, I think we can get close to £40m or so, which completely covers buying Ake) He just has not progressed enough to warrant being an everyday EPL starter IMHO CB Zouma Keep (he has dome enough to win me over, and he is a beast and seems to finally have his pace back from that horrid knee injury (he and Emerson took forever to fully heal) He still is NOT an every game starter but deffo has a role to play LB Alonso SELL SELL SELL!!!!! IF he and Emerson are our two LB's next year, there is going to be BIG trouble, it is a massive weakness on our team. I detest Alonso (we all know this) I cannot take another year of this entitled turtle. LB Emerson Keep as a backup, but he is NOT good enough to be our starter, I will argue all day and night with anyone who thinks he is, he has been poor for most of the season, and against Valencia he was arguably our worst player (until Bats came in), LB is the one position we have zero great players at. (Well, technically we have NO traditional DMF on the whole squad, but apparently Lamps doesn't care) RB Azpi Keep (we will not sell him anyway, he is going to just be run down and eventually let go on a free in 2 or so years) CMF/AMF Barkley SELL SELL SELL!! What a waste of talent and flesh, SMDH Gallagher is ready to replace him IMHO (when Conor is not playing DMF), and we have Gilmour too at CMF RW Pedro I would sell him this January IF we get a decent offer, he is spent and our backup emergency options are better than he is now We simply must upgrade at RW. RW Willian Renew (I know a shock, but no way will we drop the quid to buy TWO RW'ers, it just isn't happening) Plus he is superb on defence still and provides balance. He has been the biggest surprise on the team in terms of veteran players. CF Bats Sell him this summer, he simply is never going to be a Chelsea type striker we need under Lamps (he was SHIT v Valencia) He is either SHIT most times, or gets poachers goals (rare but important, but not important enough to piss away £30-35m or so on) CF Giroud Sell him this January, it is clear Frank has no use for him and he deserves better, I would SO much rather see him come into a game than Bats, no clue why Lamps refuses to use him. He is still superb at holdup play and is a fucking warrior. I will miss him, like I miss Fabregas now (even though Cesc's legs were SHOT, I still think we could have used him over Barkley as late game door unlocker.) Bonus FFS SELL THE DREGS OUT ON LOAN

completely agree ironically Mbappe is at the one team already that is 2 deep (or more) with WC or real quality (when healthy) players in every position (PSG) only thing I would add is another CMF (and they are so going nuts over Camavinga who is a hybrid, GRRRRRRRRRR) they toss him into mix (and they are looking at bloody (shoot me now he is the one pure CMF out there I droooooooool over, Saul) they are LOADED as fuck plus I think they upgrade on their fullbacks in the summer or even in January as well and deffo looking into CMF they probably will lose Neymar (I do not think Mbappe goes this summer now) but that is just another 200m plus euros to burn for them, lolol I could see THEM going for Dembele or Sancho even and I would much rather Sancho go there than an EPL club not named Chelsea (and he wont, I think be coming here) I really do not know why Neymar just doesn't chill the fuck out and try and win CL's there (I guess the shitty Ligue 1 bores him)

atm Van Dijk (who is the best CB in the world, atm, even though I HATE the bindippers, he is other worldly atm) Koulibaly Raphaël Varane drop off José Giménez pre-injury Aymeric Laporte (IF he fully recovers, he goes into the top 5 again and, IF/when he settles in, de Ligt just below them Lucas Hernández Skriniar Marquinhos Romagnoli (he really is a superb CB, he is just on a SHIT team) and then potentially Konate in a couple years after those 9 (and potentially 10) BIG drop off Umtiti looks like damaged goods (maybe permanently) or he would have been in there, he was insane in the WC (as was Varane) btw Lewandowski (atm) is STREETS ahead of Aguero and so is Kane, we maybe witnessing (in Lewa) the single greatest pure striker season ever (maybe only topped by Gerd Müller, (72-73) but he has a shot to pass him for sure) Could Lewandowski break Messi's record? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50593431 It is not even December and Lewandowski is well on his way to beating his previous best in a single season - the 43 he managed for Bayern in 2016-17. But his form this term means he may well have his sights set on Barcelona captain Messi's record tally of 73, set in 2011-12. He has more goals at this stage than the five-times Ballon d'Or winner did that year - 27 compared to Messi's 25. The Argentine went on to make 60 appearances as Barca won the Copa del Rey and the Club World Cup, despite falling short to Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid in La Liga and being knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea in the semi-final. Bayern still have 22 league games to play, with potentially six matches remaining in the German Cup and another eight in the Champions League, should they reach the final of both competitions. That would take Lewandowski's tally to 56 matches. So, to equal Messi's record, he just needs the small matter of 46 goals in a potential 36 games - that's a rate of 1.28 goals per game. His current scoring rate? 1.35. snip The Bundesliga only playing 34 games (not 38) plus no FWCC for Bayern may fuck Lewa

£350m is insane, although even £250 to £280m is still a shedload (unless you are talking euros) and yes, his salary will be fucking massive, I think you actually are way UNDERPRICING him salary-wise, by a LOT Messi makes over £1m PER week in salary!! I gave up several weeks ago trying to make it (Mbappe) work after I did a deeper dive into what I could find of our finances and what seem to be the new path forward for the club (and it was more or less a theoretical exercise anyway, he is not coming here, especially with our shit stadium situation, which kneecaps our revenues for the next 10 year or more at least (IF next year Roman did decide to move forward, it will not be done until near 2028 to 2030, it already was pushed back to 2026 two years ago or so, (the opening) and that was before he pulled the plug and soon (if not already, we lose the permit), grrr), the model of the club financially appears to have underwent a very large change the only true outlier in the last 3 years or so is Kepa and let us all hope that pays off I do still 100000000000% stand behind my absolute shredding of our sales cock-ups, horrid contract management, and botched negotiations that IS real money, and a crazy amount, shit away, no matter how you look at the books but there is, I admit, absolutely zero we can do about, it is already water under a damaged dam other than Chilwell (who we ARE targeting, make no mistake about that, even if we fail, I at least know we are going to try like hell), I have zero clue who we are going after surely Mr £25m release clause Werner HAS to be another Ake is probably the last one I am fairly sure we make a play for (IF we even add CB's, which I think only happens if we sell AC, and Barca does want him, and he should feth basically the same (40m) what ake will cost, so a wash) other than that, I have no idea who and even IF we make plays for I think the links to Zaha and Declan Rice (who will cost a combined £150m to £160m) are madness, but hey, that is just me I do not see us dropping anywhere near the numbers I was floating before, it just is not going to happen (not even my reduced £250m to £300m) at this point I think we will be damn lucky to get Chilwell, Ake and some oki but not great (I think we miss out on Werner, sob) striker, and some oki but not great RWer (no way do I see us grabbing Sancho for around £100m to £120m nor dropping £70m to £80m on Zaha) even that (lets say just pre gross spend on trans fees, I am not going to get into sales revenue, although it will easily cover it) will be around (for the 4 players, Chilwell, Ake, Mr X striker, Mr X Right winger) £200-225m or so gross (not counting salaries), and that is pushing the limits of my new, reduced outlook I think we DO renew Willian, and even then, there is a chance we do NOT buy ANY winger, we just roll with CHO, Willian and Pulisic, and use Mount and a by-then-recovered RLC as a Pedro replacement (or maybe even Anjorin) THAT /now 3 buys) will be around the £150m or so that Matt Law said was the budget (although I do belive he meant for January IF we get the ban lifted) I would not be at all shocked if that £150m gross is the SUMMER budget though, I think the big spend days just might be gone for good (I am 60% leaning that way) and now it is all about revenue extraction as along as the club stays at its current level on the pitch (top 4, and get into knock-out CL stages each year) oh well
-
I still think he would be worth a £20m or so punt IF we bomb out at all other options wish to hell he had not went to China and had went to Ligue 1 or even Serie A where we could get a better grasp on what his actual potential against better teams is he certainly has the physical toolkit, he seems to not get injured, even with huge minutes, and we does know how to score, even if it against shit competition
-
maybe we need to send him to another team makes no sense to recall him back to our main squad atm as far as I can see

Friday, November 29, 2019 Football Nerd Most teams have won just four of 13 games By Alistair Tweedale Football writer Just 13 games into the season, the Premier League table is already taking shape - at its extremes, at least. Liverpool, Leicester, Manchester City and Chelsea are steaming ahead in the Champions League positions, while at the other end, Watford, Southampton and Norwich are clinging on for dear life. In between, however, it is a different story. Outside that hugely impressive top four and a largely disappointing bottom three, this season's table is tighter than ever before in the Premier League era. Just six points separate the 13 teams between fifth and 17th, making this the most bunched the table has ever been at this stage of a season. The smallest the gap had ever previously been on November 29 is eight points (back in 2003/04), while just last season it was bigger than ever before - a whopping 18 points. Those who claim the Premier League is the best league in the world suggest "anyone can beat anyone" and "there are no easy games". Among the middle 13 clubs, anyone can certainly beat anyone this season. Another way of looking at it, however, might be to say that the majority of the Premier League's teams are far too unpredictable and inconsistent. All but two of those 13 teams have won exactly four of their 13 league matches this season. The table is so tight that a positive result or two can drastically alter the complexion of a team's season. Just last week, Tottenham were 14th and in freefall. A change of manager and a win at West Ham later, they are in the top half and just two points off the top five. Similarly, as recently as two matches ago, the conversation around Wolves largely centred on the domestic struggles that have accompanied their foray into the Europa League. Yet after successive 2-1 wins over two other teams in this middle bunch - Aston Villa and Bournemouth - Wolves are now flying high in fifth, threatening the 'big six' status quo and Nuno Espirito Santo is being linked with the Arsenal job. Chris Wilder's Sheffield United are one point off fifth, but also four points above 16th. Burnley have shot up from 14th to seventh after stringing two wins together. West Ham are one place above the relegation zone but still just two wins behind Wolves. So if you're down about how the season is going, give it a week or two: your team is only a couple of good results away from turning the campaign around.

Yes, but I have had an epiphany off some talks to my father and his friends, and I am very pessimistic we spend big big big anymore. My transfer posts since then have been far reduced to what I think we will actually do. Also, this turn of events with Sancho and his shit attitude worries me. I am trying to be far more pragmatic from now on. The only huge wish I have as an absolute must is Chilwell. Another poster told me that Malang Sarr is nit playing great overall as a LB, and many think Alex Telles is either too old or not good enough (I am sceptical of both, but I do not see links from us to him) and Gaya is 100m release clause, so my options (unless we drop 60m euros on Grimaldo) are up in smoke if we miss out on Chilwell. I have no idea what we do at RW or CF if we miss out on Werner (only reason he is in the mix is that 25m release clause). Zaha links are high but my dog, he is NoT worth 80m, nowhere near that. I do think we go for Áke as well, and not even attempt Romagnoli or Konate. Nor do I think we drop £51m on Camavinga (Rennes price). So my summer window wants are up in smoke, and I can only truly hope we get Chilwell. Áke I can live with, just worried about his lack of height, but as some said, he has huge leaping ability and he is great on the ball. He is an upgrade over AC IMHO. Hell maybe he goes WC. If we bang Palace down to £60m, get Chilwell for £70m and sell AC for same we buy Áke for, that is only £130m net spend from all that. Surely that leaves enough to grab a decent CF if we miss out on Werner. I think that (and maybe a new backup keeper) is the extent of the business we do. All the other 100's of millions is sales will go to debt service or simply pulled out as net operating profits. At least that is where I stand atm. I think I am being pretty realistic.

So strange how he has utterly regressed. Big hopes for the lad at one time. He needs something he isn't getting.
-
I think odds are 50/50 he leaves in January, so that (unless we win our appeal, which I rate at a 25% chance max) pretty much pulls him off our board. I also do not see the club dropping around £120m on one player, unless PSG insanely called us and said, here, give us 250m euro (£213m) and Mbappe is yours. Kane as well, we would drop £120 obviously (I would think). Same for Sterling. None of those are happening and if they did, it would be for a lot more than those prices.

strange sentence in the article Willie, Giroud, and Pedro are all older

like I said, after Werner, there is no clear cut for me I just wish Bats was more well-rounded

Lacazette, who turns 30 at the end of next season, is only in his ninth full time top flight season is 2 extra seasons really worth 5 years older? plus IF we get Werner (odds are low) he only costs 25m quid IF Arse sold us Lacazette they will ask for £65m or more, probably £70m but no way they sell him especially to us I really have no clear preference after Werner atm in terms of actually available and doable Dybala maybe, but he is not a pure striker he would be a crazy weapon under Lamps though Sarri is a fucking fool if he cannot fit him in at Juve Lautaro Martínez would be a good move (he is winning me over) but Inter will not sell 'Cavani (old!) on a 2 year would work maybe, I think he has two good years left in him, hell maybe 3 Mousa Demebele? maybe, maybe not Håland is really young, so not in veteran mould Belotti? dice role, but he is scoring for fun again Vardy would be great for 2 years, but he will not come here
