You're an absolute moron if you think Oscar lacks talent. He's just playing in a system and manager that will never truly get the best out of him. It's as simple as that. Jose is all about end results and team cohesion. He'll definitely help a footballer in the mental aspect or even their professionalism but he rarely ever gets the absolute best out of an individual like say, Ancelotti, Guardiola, Wenger, Rodgers etc. The only real exceptions are defenders.

We were easily outplayed in midfield and only won due to two defensive errors. Lets not pretend this was some special performance. We won largely in part to our defenders who were immense throughout JT and Azpi in particular. Using today as evidence against Oscar is extremely flimsy stuff.

All I hear are excuses. It's an average League now. Not only has the quality worsened with pretty much every team but tactically it's far worse than it was during that era.

It's amazing big clubs like Atletico, Juventus, Bayern, Barcelona, United, Arsenal, Dortmund, Liverpool etc can bring through their products without destabilizing their season but it's impossible at Chelsea.

Very frustrating him watching him play lately. He has virtually no impact on the game if we're not playing well.

His hold up play was excellent, his link up play was and still is on the other end of the spectrum. It really is dreadful. I remember criticizing it a couple of months back when he was red hot and it's gotten worse if anything. As Lionsden already eloquently stated even Giroud's link up play is miles ahead. Whether it's 1 touch, back to goal, aerial play, decision making, vision etc he destroys him.

Torres actually played better in the big games for me. Even his best Atletico performances since his return have been in the big games. Hell, even a 36 year old Drogba has put him to shame. His performances against Totteham/Utd are better than any Diego has had so far. That said bringing up Fernando's awful spell for us is completely irrelevant. Bringing up a striker that's a shell of a player he once was to make Costa look good is beyond pathetic. It's like comparing current Casillas to Mignolet. Costa has been consistently shit in the big games and he isn't even scoring the goals to paper up the cracks either. Torres in his prime, Drogba, Aguero these players consistently impacted the big games. In Costa's case if he's not getting bossed by Mangala/Skrtel, he's getting himself banned for needless stamps or going missing against the Yids. Cahill, Willian, Oscar etc all getting battered on here for less so I don't see why Costa should be exempt from criticism.

Yet another shit performance in a big game. We were comfortably outplayed and had Courtois to thank for this only ending 1-1. We didn't create a single chance from open play. Fabregas is never a #10 and no one can tell me otherwise. Diego Costa beyond bad, had the most space out of the entire frontline and failed to take advantage time after time again.

He rarely ever plays well in big games. Had nothing to do with rust. His limitations are just exposed.
