  1. Ramires is capable of shooting from range? That's a lie. I've seen Ramires take about a hundred shots from range in his Chelsea career and they've all gone sky high. Maybe a handful on target, and I'm possibly/probably blacking out on some goal he scored from range before today. But he's a terrible shooter in general. It's almost as bad as seeing Mikel take a shot (guaranteed turnover). Doesn't change the fact that he scored a marvelous goal that saved his manager from serious heat. It's obvious Chelsea's been found out. Weaknesses are being exploited constantly. Mourinho said he's a fantastic manager. Well, let's see him work some magic.
  2. I just hope this means the squad will be strengthened. This mentality of relying on a strong, but certainly not exceptional, first XI with average/decent back-up has ruined Chelsea's ability to play at a high level for a full year and ability to compete in all competitions. Apparently Mourinho can't even rotate when a player is completely out of form. Out of form players trump the options on the bench. How is that possible at this level? That's the result of terrible management and I can only hope it will be fixed.
  3. Pedro. That first touch was perfect. Why? Did Willian or Hazard cough on him?
  4. Play like crap. The most unlikeliest of goal-scorers end up doing a bit of damage control. Why can't they do that at 0-0 or with a goal ahead...
  5. Don't bother with the press conferences. It's all a big joke.
  6. Managers have been exchanging the 'neutralize Chelsea' game plan this season. Wenger was too stubborn and proud to follow the game plan. It's the same approach that gets this team every time. I don't like saying it but Chelsea's been found out.
  7. This is going to be a long year. Mourinho only now making changes. Reacted far too late imo.
  8. I saw the Spurs - City score, wanted to laugh, but stopped myself. This is why. Sad, sad stuff. So much talent in the team, yet I still can't detect quality team attacking play. No patterns at all. I can't wait for the day to come my Chelsea will go into an era of quality attacking play. Bring back the Zola days combined with today's top spending power.
  9. Why would the Arsenal board get rid of the oldtimer? They've been filling their pockets the past 10 years while he kept Arsenal in the top 4 of England and top 10 of world football, 'challenging' for trophies. With the money they've spent the past 10 years, he's done marvelous work. Because of him, they managed to sell tickets worth a fortune. They even got a new stadium. The loot keeps rolling in. Wenger managed to convince a gigantic fanbase to believe winning trophies isn't important. They're evolved. The board gets paid. The manager gets paid (Mr. Arsenal doesn't work for peanuts, he's one of the wealthiest managers around). Arsene has done an excellent job.
  10. Okay, I like him. Not too impressed by his natural ability and intelligence. Compared to watching someone like Hazard at 19, he doesn't strike me as the next great talent. But it's hard not to like a young guy that puts in so much effort. And there's something genuine about him. It seems he's living his dream and he is prepared 'to die' to make it. I'm sure his attitude is the reason Mourinho likes him enough to allow him this many minutes. Great thing about him is the fact that he moves. Any wide man at Chelsea that will make runs and provides constant motion will be liked by me. A goal, an assist and a more than decent performance, good for him.
  11. Some people would have you believe he scored 40 out of 50 from the spot. This reminded me of one my favourite Eden moments. I loved his 2nd goal vs Maribor (see spoiler). I don't know, there was just so much swagger and confidence in that goal. Complete belief in his abilities. I hope he aims to double that tally within two seasons. I'm sure he can do it.
  12. That one went into the memory bank. That 5th goal to cap it off was simply stunning. Showing once again why I rate him so highly.
  13. There you go. Suspended for three games. What a surprise. He's hurt his team. Blame and curse the FA all you want. The possibillity of repercussions were always there for what he did. And he didn't have to do it. Most players don't do it. This was all completely unnecessary. This is why I didn't like what he did. I'll never cheer for stupidity. And now we probably have to watch an over the hill Falcao trying to get his groove back. Just when the team was on the road of redemption after that appalling start. Just great.
  14. Mourinho always gets someone fired (or let go, for the politically correct crowd) at a club. You should always save up when he comes around. I'm going to miss seeing her bum/butt/behind/ass/booty/buttocks, whichever you prefer. That's probably a sexist thing to say. But yeah.
  15. It is 'a game of pussies' though. Same goes for basketball. It's a game of skill and the mind, not so much brawn. In Europe anyway. If you want to see men go at each other, you watch rugby or any kind of form of professional fighting. As for people going on for days, I don't understand how they find the energy, interest and time. The issue became boring when night time came on Saturday but that's just me. I'm just happy it annoys the Specialists in Choking so much.
  16. For a big man and a player known as a hard man, he's not that physically imposing. Drogba would humiliate players when it came to sheer strength (he would rarely pass up the opportunity to dive when he felt slight contact in his early days though). I wish Diego was more dominating in physical tussles. Would also be nice if he started threatening goal and scoring goals again. Maybe a double vs Newcastle.
  17. Maccabi doesn't count. Awful team. Chels should win that match with ease with any backline. It's impossible not to play attacking football with Galactico Real and it is demanded. But the football wasn't great. They were at their best when transitioning, exploiting mistakes. When they faced defensive teams and parked buses, they weren't so fantastic (obviously envious of Barca). A bit of caution in big games, sometimes a lot caution. That's not good enough for them. Mourinho made promises of changing Chelsea's identity. Turning the team into one playing attacking football. He even said something like if I don't manage to do so you can blame me or I did not do my job. Something like that. Nice words, telling people what they want to hear. It's not criticism. Mourinho is Mourinho. You know what you're getting.
  18. Mourinho at the helm for 20 years? No, thank you. That's boring. I'd like fresh blood at some point.
  19. Some people like football thugs, some people don't. It's that easy.
  20. I don't see how those words have anything to do with JT. He's saying how he would have approached the game if three points weren't absolutely crucial. And we know how he tends to approach big games. With caution and defensive security. He'll gladly take a draw and he'll have his team defend for the most part if he feels the need for it, when he doesn't 'need a win'. I don't believe in the fantasy of Mourinho wanting to change this team into an attacking machine. He said to that to please fans. That's not where his strength lies and you don't change your way of thinking after 15 years just like that. He'll always be a pragmatist. And that's fine. Roman and the board are the ones that appointed him so they can't complain or fault him. If you want a different kind of football, appoint someone else. Mourinho mentioned JT's absence and said he has three CBs he trusts. And depending on the match and his tactics, he'll pick two. This game didn't suit JT so he didn't play. Fine explanation, and he won so he's right.
