  1. So much quality on the pitch. Unreal.
  2. What has happened to this team? They've become incredibly slow, static and sluggish. And it seems to become worse with every passing game. Sigh... That was a terrible, terrible performance. 3 points.
  3. Two chances, two goals. You're opponent gets a huge chance, they blow it. There is no better way to start a match. As the top side in the league, that's a wrap. But somehow you implode. Unacceptable. Thankfully it happened early so there's still a chance of winning this. They have to win this. I've been a huge fan of Ivanovic in his time at Chelsea, but this has to be his worst season. So many errors. And he's just too slow to be fullback nowadays. But Mourinho is the one that keeps playing him. Ivanovic plays like a man that is guaranteed to start. He's become very complacent. I really don't like seeing Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic in the backline, all together. So slow.
  4. 1. Hazard 2. Silva 3. Kane (Young player of the year) Unless Kane starts scoring hattricks for fun in the remaining matches, that's my top three.
  5. Amen. I have no idea why I read your random thoughts. What's with the Ramos glamour pic?
  6. Aguero is the better goal-scorer, one of the best finishers I've witnessed. But Tevez beats him overall. And Tevez is a champion. Didn't exactly agree with everything but that was awesome. Can't really think of a controversial view right now. Maybe this: Jerome Boateng is the best CB in the world.
  7. Giroud is such an underrated player. Welbeck's arrival was supposed to mean the end of Giroud but surprise, surprise, that has not been the case. Giroud is not world-class, but he's comfortably in that bracket of strikers under the elite. Welbeck is midtable level. He makes a very decent back-up for every top side in the league because of his pace and work rate. Newcastle have to tie this up and crush any silly title fantasy.
  8. Talk about a tenuous argument. I guess David Luiz, with his combined transfers of a 21.5 mil pound move to Chelsea and a 40 mil pound move to PSG, is the best defender around and one the best the world has ever seen.
  9. Spain's entire midfield consists of central midfielders. The fullbacks have to provide width, something Azpi can't do on the left. So this is not surprising. Azpi has never for impressed for Spain anyway. Yes.
  10. I was talking about the champions alone. Reaching the CL final and all.
  11. More of a wishlist actually. Back to two players for every position, please. In: CB: Otamendi/Howedes (Varane if possible) LB: Mendy/Baba DM: Schneiderlin/Imbula/Tiago CM/DM: Xhaka RW: Pedro Bamford return Out: Mikel, Remy, Salah, Moses (not to mention the likes of Kalas, Omeruo, Piazon, McEachran etc.). Aké, Christensen, Loftus-Cheek out on loan? *Sell Ivanovic if the big money bid rumours are true. *Sell Oscar if a good offer comes in, buy Andre Gomes or Ward-Prowse as a replacement. Courtois; Azpilicueta, Howedes/Otamendi, Terry, Luis; Matic; Fabregas, Xhaka; Pedro, Costa, Hazard.
  12. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. For me, some players got/get more opportunities because they fit a certain profile he has in mind. And that's fair, but that makes it hard for the others. There weren't? I remember many questions being asked about his exclusion. The same with Mata. I remember Mou making a comment about how if he plays player X, people will ask why he is not playing player Y, and vice versa. And all our fans? I don't remember that either. Are you sure about that? I thought a pretty big group wanted to see more of KDB, especially after all the pre-season hype. I know I wanted to see him play more. A few poor performances don't change my mind about a player.
  13. When you really think about it, the 'big game player' is a rarity.
  14. If not next season, the season after that for sure!
  15. Have we not seen Oscar, Willian, Ivanovic, Cahill and others produce terrible performances more than once? Come on, Choulo, this has nothing to do with taking chances. Mou and KDB obviously clashed in some way. Add no game to the mix and you have a player who wants to leave. That story of insufficient effort in training was such nonsense. Looking at how Mou would highlight Oscar's defensive efforts clearly shows the type of player he wanted in the middle. And KDB is not someone you put out wide, tracking fullbacks and what not. That said, I don't really blame Mou or the club. It sucks, but these things happen. You let a player go (easily) and they end up doing very well. Every club goes through that. Instead of just focusing on the few individuals that did well, think about the hundreds that didn't do well or didn't do enough to mourn losing them. EDIT: Leaving Chelsea was a great career move for KDB. I don't care for the fighting for your place talk. Everyone is different. One person would rather stay and give it a go, the other would rather leave and play elsewhere.
  16. I'd gladly take that tbh. The last impressive champions were Utd in 2011, so it would be nothing new. And it has been five years since the last title, that's too long. Just win the league and build on that.
  17. Thanks and agree. Thanks. I have said it the entire season. Player of the season for me, that includes the league. I only find his assist tally disappointing. And he could've scored more yeah, but I don't really hold it against him. Watching Neymar vs City, I started to think about Hazard and how he (Eden) is a lot more clever and efficient in possession. Both fantastic players but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.
  18. There's a real posibility of Hazard breaking the 20-goal barrier this season. 10 goals in the league, 2 in the League Cup and 4 in the CL. 10 games left to play. Anyone who knows how many goals were PKs?
  19. Koke is nothing like Cesc. Koke is a runner, a midfield dynamo. Cesc is a playmaker, laid back. Koke has a mean right foot when it comes to whipping in crosses and taking (indirect) set-pieces, the main source of his chance creation and assists, but he's no playmaker. Maybe he can develop into one. He does possess good passing technique, but the question is whether he possesses the vision. If anything, Koke is Oscar on steroids.
  20. Agree. He's the reason I don't think Juve will really feel the impact of Pirlo eventually losing his spot/leaving/hanging up his boots. In terms of style, they look like the Barca of old. Rijkaard's Barcelona. Messi is the Ronaldinho of this version, only twice as good. Unbelievable. Rakitic is fantastic. He's the 'modern' donkey. A very hard working and selfless player, constantly covering and always full of running. But he's very good on the ball as well. At first, it looked like he might not make it. I didn't think it was going to work out myself. But he managed to adapt and now he's a key player. For me at least. Credit to him. Regardless of whether Fabregas is a better player or not, they made the right decision to sell him. Fabregas-Busquets-Iniesta was never going to work. And credit to Suarez as well. I was wrong because I didn't think he would succeed at Barca. He's made adjustments to his game and has put the team ahead of personal glory. I never expected Suarez to play second fiddle to Messi. Something Ibra was not prepared to do.
  21. There will come a day when the mighty Abou will rise again, and rule the world of football. Abou will crush every opponent. Abou will guide Arsenal Football Club to global dominance. One day. You just wait.
  22. Agree. He reminds me of Pique, though not as good. You know who I really like? Marchisio. Fantastic player.
  23. Real won't win. Back to back win is not happening. Atletico... I don't think so. Barca is a real possiblity. I hope Porto draw Monaco. A new team in the semis.
  24. I'm not a Bonucci fan. Fantastic long passer though.
