Where will you be during the Champions League Final?
Naked Mole Rat replied to Gianfranco_Z's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Home, alone. Wise decision since I'll probably be crying after the game regardless of the result. -
I've been thinking about this, and maybe they could expand the lower divisions to include some reserves teams? For example, they could (eventually) add something like 10 reserves teams to the Championship League so there would be 30 professional teams + 10 reserves teams = 40 teams in total (These numbers can be adjusted). Then they could divide the league into two divisions, each with 15 professional teams and 5 reserves (20 total like PL). Each division will operate like a regular league except that there will be two subdivisions -- one with the professional teams (A) and the other with the reserves (. Teams in different subdivisions will still play one another, but when it comes to league standings and promotion/relegation, they will be treated differently. This will make sure that there will always be 15 professional teams and 5 reserves in the Championship (Again, the numbers can change). I think this would probably be the best way to integrate reserves into lower divisions without affecting teams already there too much, but I can also see how this could mean a compromise in quality. Thoughts?

Dortmund made it look so easy.

Hindsight is 20/20. Suppose Mata had played and got injured in one of those two games? Di Matteo would have been slated for taking a stupid risk. Besides, I really don't think we would have got more than 2 points in those two matches even if fielded our best team. Maybe a draw against Newcastle and a loss at Anfield.

Meh

LOL, I was going to say the same thing. Absolutely love this.

Hmm.. so now if Arsenal and Tottenham drop points in their last two matches, Newcastle beat City and Everton, and we beat Munich, City don't win the league, Arsenal are out of CL, and we are European champions.

Would it be considered a good season if...
Naked Mole Rat replied to Shogun's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
No, that would literally be our worst season in years. -
Shame we only scored six. We looked like we were going to win 15-0 half hour into the game.

Which qualities do you admire in others?

Consistency and honesty. -
I'm in purple. Quite libertarian and slightly right-winged. Not a bad test.

That idea is still pretty much a design hypothesis, which always arises from the assumption that nature has emotions like humans do, which it probably doesn't. Because of that, I'd say it's very, very, very, very unlikely, but nobody should rule that possibility out 100%.

It's not just a matter of opinion when outdated "theories" like creationism find their way into science classes and people use holy books to justify oppressing human right. Especially nowadays, religion has been not much more than hindrance to human development, and there's nothing wrong with saying we should put an end to it.

Maybe it's not as important as some of the other goals, but I thought Sturridge's goal against Sunderland was absolutely brilliant. I still can't figure out how he did it.

Holy shit, we can push l'Arse out of CL if we beat Bayern and Newcastle finish third. -
Chelsea to play Bayern Munich in the Final

I don't really care, but I think Bayern will advance. -
Di Matteo is a very smart and brave manager, and we should keep him. Maybe he's got this attitude that he's got nothing to lose, but I think he's done the right thing to take a gamble today by fielding our usual second-stringers and focus on the match at Camp Nou. Managers don't like to take that sort of risk, but Di Matteo realized that we'd have a better shot at winning the CL than clinching the 4th spot in the league. Also, he fully trusts his players, and they respect him for that, and that was something Scolari or Villas-Boas lacked. Tactically, I don't think he's worked any miracle like some people say he has, but he's been very flexible with his approach, he isn't trying to force the team to play the game his way, and he's kept things simple. Even if he doesn't win anything this season he deserves that job.

His free kick taking is generally abysmal. He lacks the technique to get the ball move up and down like Drogba does, which is why he shouldn't take free kicks especially from a close range. His corners have been very sharp this season, though, in my opinion.

OK, can you do that for me, please?

Pretty good. Just been admitted to UBC.

I don't think the FA makes the decisions. They always seem to ask the referee who officiated the game what decision he would have given if he'd seen the foul, which is ridiculous. It's as if the FA thinks that all their officials are impartial and competent, but they obviously aren't, which is why Clattenburg clearly saw Rooney elbow a Wigan player in the face last season and, instead of sending him off, had a little chat with him. No, it's more like they didn't make a decision that time like they never do, and they're probably not even allowed to do anything other than see if the ball crosses the line. Completely useless, really. The easiest and most effective solution is to bring the goal-line technology and video refereeing into the game, and I doubt it will slow down the game significantly, given that many bad calls are obvious ones which the officials just happen to miss. And players already waste tons of time arguing with officials.

I just checked my notifications, and I didn't get a couple (or more) notifications I was supposed to get a couple days ago, but I received all the ones from your quoting my post. The red number thing that appears over the bell icon is still not working, though. And yes, you can log into mine if you haven't done that yet. Thanks.
