  1. This would be a fantastically talented player, on Messi's level The motivational, professional aspect though...
  2. My fear regarding Lichtsteiner is his age (obviously) and the fact he has played in Italy for so long that he's, most likely than not, going to need time to adjust; pair that with age, and we could have Ivanovic x2 on the RB spot.(Eto'o was Eto'o, one of the best forwards in the football world at his peak. Total different story with Lichtsteiner) Move Azpi to the right and we'll be scratching our heads about the left, Baba? He's been suspect, hopefully Aké as a back up option. Combine that pair of FB with a defence of Rudiger, who doesn't inspire much confidence and when he'll develop he'll probably be a decent-ish CB at best (happy to be proved wrong here) and Zouma playing for the first time after a horrible injury (and we don't know what we are going to get here, hope for the best.) Backed up by Cahill and Terry? Won't be much better than this season as I see it. Other than that, when we look at Rudiger, we're buying potential as well, now imagine having the likes of Christensen, Zouma, Tomori, JCS and block one of them with Rudiger. Hopefully if this transfer goes through he replicates his Spalletti form, and hopefully he's a request from Conte.
  3. This. Talented team but overrated. You need more than individuals to win anything at international level.
  4. And even if we would be looking for a new n.10 I would look elsewhere.
  5. So would you prefer Lichtsteiner or one of Fabinho/De Marcos maybe Cancelo/Semedo; even though it's my personal opinion we should be looking at the left flank, we already have a more than decent RB. Again, would you prefer Rudiger or one of Koulibaly/Bailly/Umtiti and maybe have a go at Marquinhos? It has less to do with a "vendetta" as you think, and more to do with making good signings in a crucial transfer window.
  6. At least Zlatan is fun in what he says.
  7. Should've called up Klose. I'm sure he would've performed fantastically I always loved Miroslav.
  8. No sign of that yet. 9 days before the euro. Let's see what happens.
  9. Wonder how many would cheer Hazard if he would go to a rival and score against us Even though he is quite far from legend status.
  10. No, he is not a bad player at all. The transfer would be atrociously so I'm afraid and terribly short sighted as well. He's a right back, so Azpi would be pushed to the left for yet another 32 yo right back, with a back-up option (I'm assuming) consisting of Ivanovic. He has played in Italy for so long that he will probably need time to adjust, and again he is 32 yo. Ultimately it's not a RB we need, rather a LB.
  11. In a few weeks another name will come out of these transfer rumours, one shittier than him and that we'll probably end up buying, and we'll wish for the days of us linked with Rudiger would come back.
  12. When I said rebuild the defence, I didn't mean with the likes of Rudiger and Lichsteiner. This is going to be ugly.
  13. He's probably going to go with a 4-4-2 (4-2-4) We (Chelsea) have players most suited to that system, and he recently used it with the national team as well. As you say, a 3-5-2/3-4-3 are not the most practical way to go as we (Chelsea) don't have any top defender at our disposal. This made my day well said. Welcome to the forum.
  14. Anything will do to suit Fernando's agenda, every second post of his has José in it, even if the discussion at hand has nothing to do with him.
  15. Actually Conte was pretty calm last night Around the 20' the Italian commentator from the touchline said he got quite upset because Scotland kept breaking the flow of the game, and indeed the rhythm of the game was always pretty low in the first half. We started strong, few chances already not too long after kick off, then Scotland organised themselves defensively and we struggled finding chances for about 15 minutes or so (Thanks also to Bonucci failing to finding Candreva who was free on the right) After that we started playing the ball wider and there were several opportunities we failed to convert. (And we failed to find a proper rhythm) Second half was a bit faster, the goal was quite good and after that there were several changes. Also De Rossi was playing with a problem to his tendon.
  16. Just went up 1-0. Pellé scored. Scotland doing their best to slow the game down.
  17. In around half hour there's Italy-Scotland. For whoever is interested. Italia (3-5-2-): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Candreva, Florenzi, De Rossi, Giaccherini, Darmian; Eder, Pellé.
  18. I'm not saying you're wrong, although this is quite a conspiracy theory. But do you ever post something else than this kind of comment? We get the tune, the board last summer has done a spectacularly bad job( and I agree), but do you need to write about this in every comment?
  19. hmmmm so Radja doesn't want to join because lack of CL, and yet Pogba has agreed to a move? Journos at their best. Problem with this is one is, as I see it a least, he's a very unique kind of player nowadays, B2B in the true sense of the word. here's Vidal, him and then? No one else comes quite as close. Kanté, Krychowiak, Carvalho are more suited to a DM role than pure B2B. There's André Gomes, but he's more a number 10.
  20. Good prospect, but that's what he is right now, a very, very good prospect. Why don't give a chance to Musonda then? Wouldn't be against us signing him, but then again, do we prefer buying yet another RW/RM and neglect CB/FB/CM?
