  1. Statistics the death of football. Everything is so over analysed these days, football has been taken over by trainspotters who have too much time on their hands who come out with this meaningless bollocks. If you were in the boozer with a mate and started talking about Chelsea (not pointing you out Wes I mean all fans) would you say '' Did you know that Eden Hazard has a dribble completion rate of 78% while Silva's is 69%''. I know I'm old school but modern day football has become obsessed with this sort of nonsense.
  2. No need to apologise that's pretty accurate . Does make me laugh that Scotland wants independence but so many of them want Rangers and Celtic to play in England.
  3. Bought my first Stone Island top from a gaff in Haymarket in Piccadilly in 1995 cost £110. Won't touch any of their gear now because one of those twats who killed Lee Rigby was wearing a Stone Island hat
  4. It was first worn in the 1970 cup final no idea why it was red. It might have only been worn for that one game I honestly don't know. The yellow one was worn a few times I think first worn in the 1972 League Cup Final which incidentally is the first time I was really upset over Chelsea losing a match my older brothers taking the piss didn't help either. The red, white and green away of the 70's was because Dave Sexton was a massive admirer of the Puskas inspired Hungary team of the 50's.The yellow and green I think was a bit of a homage to the Brazilian team but believe me we were so shit then as the old joke goes there were times we were lucky to get nil
  5. That looks like an original UJ the little umbro looks genuine. I bought the repro yellow one as well got it home and changed my mind went back the next day and swapped it for the red one.
  6. Totally agree. Our first recognised (being on telly ) away kit in the 70's was yellow. This from 1977-78 is still my favourite away shirt.
  7. That's actually Giles Smith's column from the website. Although he's paid to write a column it's hardly the club's official word. He's a very funny writer his Raison d' etre is to take the piss he also writes for The Times. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/03/giles-smith_s-thursday-thoughts2.html
  8. What the fuck is this ? you've been reading too much Mills and Boon mate.
  9. Arsenal may be sold out every game that doesn't mean fans are turning up hence the huge number of empty seats especially in cup matches. I notice Man City isn't on the list usually the Etihad is emptier than a hermit's address book
  10. Never used it FB but plenty of times I rang the club to find out the score of a game. No internet, football used to be on Radio 2 no teletext so if you weren't at the game you couldn't find out the result (midweek games) until the ten o' clock news on the radio or the end of News at Ten. Can even remember the number 385-5545.
  11. I couldn't have put it better old chap well said
  12. Just a lot of what if's and maybe's we are after the yids won still 10 points ahead with 10 games left just enjoy it mate. If Conte does leave us he won't join another English team he's got a bond with us what's the word I'm looking for SPECIAL.
  13. It was the euphoria of winning a game where the opposition are only interested in kicking the shit out of you exactly like Blackburn 2005.
  14. House of fun chemist bit filmed on my old road we are KILBURN CFC.
  15. Bloody hell mate for a Chelsea fan you seem to have a vast interest and knowledge of Arsenal
  16. Moved house a few years ago had to leave all my fanzines just no room F.B. I used to subscribe to the Chelsea Independent (still got the badge) bought Red Card, Weststanders, SW6, Carefree and even bought only once The Blues Brothers a Chelsea, Rangers, Linfield fanzine which was frankly a load of absolute shite. There was another fanzine called Cockney Rebel that was sold by an old geezer usually outside the Northstand which was just a bit weird. It was like the ramblings of a pissed up old bloke who had access to a printing machine.
  17. I imagine the chairman of Vitesse Arnhem is delighted.
  18. Anyone who's a fan of Withnail and I will be a little surprised that Danny is now a gooner but is still definitely still smoking the Camberwell Carrots
  19. Keane isn't really in any position to question team spirit. The bloke's man management skills were dreadful he's a misanthrope. When he was the Ipswich manager he invited all the players and wives to a barbeque and then sat on his own and didn't talk to a single person there.
  20. Someone said that Karanka had the football ethos of Mourinho, the charisma of Avram Grant and the surliness of Roy Keane ha ha.
  21. I used to buy Red Card and Weststanders all the time either off him outside the ground or in Sportspages in Charing Cross. Very friendly bloke always up for a chat about Chelsea RIP Alan.
  22. They put the camera on the City fans after the game fuck they haven't half got some old looking fans. I wonder if they will be going to Lourdes tomorrow
