So who would you take? Adebayor (free agent) or Robin van Persie (loan)?

No JT! He is vital (Norwich block) and a great leader. Mikel out - Wanyama/Naingolan in Falcao out - Aubameyang/target man in Oscar out - Alex Texeira in Djilobodji out - Marquinhos/Laporte/Stones in. Extra: Gundogan.

I see it like this: His role at Barca in the last few years was like Schurrle's role at Chelsea. A super sub but with limited gametime and freedom. At Barca there were simply better creators than him: Xavi, Iniesta, Messi (and Cesc). So they didn't need him to drop deep to create, as there were better players for that. He was there for the goals. But at Chelsea, only Hazard, Cesc and Willian are creative. But with these players out of form, and none of them having the "king" role, it's good to have one more player that wants to take responsibility and make our game less predictable. I am sure he likes it, he joined Chelsea to have a big role and wanted to feel more important like Cesc did. He is also older and more experienced than many guys in our team, so I also think he feels that it is his task to lead and create. I actually think this game suits him well, his goal vs WBA and in the league cup were both created from deep by himself. His dribbling skills and close control were always overlooked and underrated. I really like his direct dribbling/running towards the goal, it's different from Hazard's and Willians's style. Give him more time, I think he will be very good for us.

He had a different role at Barca. Iniesta, Xavi and mainly Messi were the kings with most freedom, everyone else had to play their role in the system. Pedro was a winger with fixed tasks, like Cesc and Alexis, they all had limited freedom. Neymar also has a different role when Messi plays. At Chelsea he is brought as a big name, as a game changer, a starter. So that means a bigger role, more responsibility and more freedom, like Cesc last year. I have faith he will important for us, I think he was good in the last few games after his injury.

Buy him, sell Oscar.

Think he will start vs Bournemouth. Iva-Azpi will play vs Spurs.

UCL qualification - permutations and combinations
stroey replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Chelsea Articles
I am normally an optimist but this scenario fits our horrible season so much: Porto beating us at the Bridge with 1 goal difference, Chelsea dominating and having chance after chance but Casillas having the game of his life vs Mourinho... -
Yeah that would be like asking 3 presents for Christmas (or Sinterklaas) But well, today Cahill scored from his corner, so there is potential!
-
His accuracy to hit the target is very high, I think none of his direct freekicks were not on target this season. Do you remember that one against Kiev away that hit the bar?Or the one that was saved by the keeper against Soton/Liverpool/West Ham? I hope he also masters to take direct freekicks from the right side like Zola. By the way, he might have broken a record today. Has any other player ever scored more than 4 direct freekicks in the UCL group stage?

Baba deserved that assist.

Willian, who else?

^ Not one, but two big digs.

Jose Mourinho's behaviour is damaging Chelsea - Graeme Le Saux Former Chelsea player Graeme Le Saux believes the players are "not responding" to Jose Mourinho's "damaging" behaviour. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34718689 Graeme Le Saux criticises Jose Mourinho over Eva Carneiro incident Graeme Le Saux believes the fallout from the Jose Mourinho-Eva Carneiro incident at Stamford Bridge may have "set the game back 30 years". http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10028893/graeme-le-saux-criticises-jose-mourinho-over-eva-carneiro-incident So Le Saux can say so much shit in the media, and Mourinho can't even react? When JT did the same with Savage everybody was laughing.

On revenues of £314.3m for the year, a £23.1m loss was recorded but after relevant adjustments the club is comfortably within the allowable limits of FFP, which measures expenditure against the income from football-related activities. “We spoke together before the Stoke [Capital One Cup] game,” said Hazard. “I said to him ‘Maybe we have to try something, to change something. Maybe I have to play at No10 because we have to try’. We did and I played a very good game in the cup in Stoke. And, against Norwich, it was the same. I don't know if I have to play every game as a No10. I just want to play. “I like playing No10, but I'll play as a left winger too. I just want to be on the pitch. It doesn't matter whether that's in the middle or on the flanks. It doesn't matter. “When I was young I played as a No10. Sometimes there is more freedom there. Sometimes not. When you play against compact teams, like Norwich, it's difficult to find space. But we have good players and they know how to move and when to pass the ball.
