I agree with the rule to an extent as it will hopefully curb the ridiculous spending that is going on. However it does reward the bigger who already have high turnover and means it is nigh on impossible for someone, like Blackburn in 95, to break the mould at the top of the league.

I agree they are spending Champions League player money on non-Champions League standard players, but when you have unlimited funds, does it really matter?

Its a tough ask an he has to get another 20 goals next season but you never know. He deserves to break the record because he has been a Chelsea legend the past 10 years.

Young players like that are always a gamble though aren't they? He is scoring goals in the Belgian league yes, but it is a big jump up to the Prem. It's great to sign those types of players but they are best of playing in the youth team/reserves for a few years first. I you want a player to slot straight into the first team then you have to spend money.
