Ivanovic is having his best season for Chelsea so far. Not just because he has been getting goals for the Blues with a good brace last night against Spartak Moscow. His general support play and work rate up the flanks has improved and he is looking like a top player.

Chelsea have a great chance of winning at Anfield on Sunday. I think Hodgson, although he would never admit this, may have written the game off as he has vowed to field a strong side for their match with Napoli tonight. Chelsea would not be able to bring in a signing that would be any better than the players they have in January without spending stupid money. I think those days are gone at Stamford Bridge and have now moved to Eastlands. Ancelotti appears to be giving the youth players a run out at the club and that can only be a good thing, financially and for the fabric of the club.

TBH this is nothing more than a glorified friendly. It would be nice to dish out another thrashing to United but it is more important to build up fitness. Plus I don't expect many WC players to play so it will be mainly for the squad players and youngsters. I doubt it will be a classic but a win and a trophy would be a nice way to start!

The club had to bite the bullet with this one, it was either have him miss the start of the season or get a more serious injury in the middle of the year and miss the title run in. It is a pain but in the long term we will benefit from a fully fit Drogba later in the year

It says in the Premier League football article that he has signed a four year deal on £90,000 a week. Notice how he has chosen the one club who AREN'T in the Champions League next season yet they were the only ones to offer him a four year deal and on the most money. The ££££ are his motivation now and if that is the case we don't want or need him.

His age is the only issues IMO. He was actually one of Liverpool's most creative players last season but for some reason fell out of favour (I think when Rafa began to lose the plot. Six million isn't a lot in today's money and we are getting a proven, versatile Premier League player. I agree that Carlo needs to bring some younger players in but Yossi is still a quality player

There has to be some privacy regarding transfer and contract issues, the club can't tell the fans exactly what is going on all the time,transfer deals are complicated and often would collapse if it woas made public or let other clubs put a bid in too. Plus specualtion goes on daily, they would be speaking out denying rumours all the time. We just have to put trust in the club to do things right

I agree about Elano, he seemed to drop out of favour at City but he looks a much better player than I thought he was in the Brazil side. Ozil has done well too, I just hope has has a quiet game on Sunday!!

United have pulled out of the race to sign Cole apparently according to this Premier League article. Looks like he will stay in London and a choice between Arsenal and Spurs. Normally I would say he would definitely choose Arsenal but the Redknapp factor may persuade him to go to Spurs - plus I reckon they would be crazy enough to offer him the wages he wants!!

I have heard good things about him and I was impressed with his performance the other day. However it was only Australia and a good WC often often over inflate a players asking price. His club will probably want an extra 10-15 million now!
