I know I agree that Fab is better as a CM dictating the game too instead of just offensive like he is doing for the past 3 years. At Arsenal he was one of the best CM in the world. Of course, he cannot play in a CDM/pivot role because he isn't exactly the greatest tackler of good with interceptions...etc. Not to mention that role requires working really hard and I am not sure he is up to it physically. Yep if Fab comes expect a lot of 4-4-3 instead of usual 4-2-3-1 we have been using recently. I think if Fab comes the chance of another big money CM/CDM signing is next to 0 unless Ramires is sold to Real for 30m as rumors recently. That is why I think Jose settled for Tiago on a free transfer just in case we need to switch back to 4-2-3-1 during certain games to protect the lead.

Based on statistic I guess, he reached double figures for goals+assists for each of the last 3 seasons I think. Also play really well as false 9 for Spain at Euro 2012 and in general when required.

It is not just a coincidence though, all the strikers at our club except Drogba and to some extent Anelka struggled under every single manager. None of them could have that wow season where they hit 20+ goals. Now either they are all crap or it is a problem with the system we are using as a whole.

Scored 17 goals at West Brom, expecting to walk into starting line up of one of the best team in the world...OK. Even if he had scored 30 goals he would only be considered good enough to be include in a squad like of Chelsea, maybe if he scored 30 goals which included in competitions like CL then maybe. Michu/Benteke both hit 20 goals in 12-13 season, are they good enough for Chelsea starting 11? I know me too, for me Lukaku got 2 choices. 1. Stay and fight for his place, 2. Leave for good. I know just saying if it comes to that I just think the club will sack him instead of selling Hazard, that is how highly they regard him. And actually it is not that far away from impossible, a bad start next season for Jose with our super strong squad(assuming Costa,Fab,Luis all come) and he could go by the turn of the year.
