Newcastle were very lucky. If Hazard did n't hit that post we were going to win. The one who visibly underperformed today was Diego Costa. He came close on occasions but he just had to, where he was playing.
-
Unlucky, Newcastle a tiny little better than Sunderland.

We have until February to concentrate on the league and draw clear of the rest. Then there are some big matches coming up.

Newcastle are not doing badly and they beat us last year. Caution is needed -no Maribor or Sunderland jokes- because City seems to have woken up. Missed the chance to back the goons last night. My favourite bet, last minute siege- like CFC v. Everton last season. Sanchez scored for them just before I had time to get it in.

Remy looks good.

Looked like training session to me. No one stretched a leg forward. We all know what happens when we play against a weaker side and it's 0-0 after the interval - siege of Marsah Matrouh. Have you seen any of that ? It's little loss, but a loss of two points nevertheless. I don't buy the stuff about Wednesday's match in Germany because that developed into a stroll in the park. The players should be careful, because Jose is a nice guy but come June he can say to you "come on my boy, go to Qatar to find a team".

We have Terry-Costa-Ivanovitch and Drogba who are specialists in the air and we failed to give it a try. With the ball down we managed only one good effort, Matic towards the end of the first half.
-
Willian cannot take defenders. He has n't got a chance in that department. The answer to them parking the bus was aerial football but we saw none of that.
-
We did not even try to pump the ball in the air, given that our wingers were blocked. Except for the foul-corner in the last minute.

A super-Torres performence.

I 'm falling asleep.

I take back the clever. I mean more informed about the goings on around the world and hence look more clever (that despite the stereotype created by someone who said the capital of Paris is France). But I just think the overseas cousins are cool guys.

No because although I have come across certain wild characters the Americans are in general more friendly people, more clever and more accomodating. The litmus test is if you like people who are of different political alliance, because if we are of the same stable -say both dems- there is nothing to say. The middle American then although he may have the opposite views from you, he nevertheless respects you.

The Americans are not bigoted people, much more enlightened than most Europeans. My aunts were Greek American. But of course there are some hotheads that are really mean. In the case of Brown the fuzz was attacked but he had no business to carry a firearm with his person. A taser or a truncheon could have been used. When you shoot somebody under any circumstances there are bound to be implications.

For first place we need two points. The only way to get exactly two points from the remaining matches is two draws. I believe Jose as a Portuguese will try to be of some help to Sporting Lisbon and thrash the Germans tonight.

I would n't take any of the Ranieri Greece players to sell programs. However he managed to lose from Feroe ! Against Northern Ireland it was obvious Greece were going to lose from the first passes.
-
Faroe islands - first victory since they were Danish colony. Did n't even know they were playing. Switched on after someone wrote in facebook something about Greece being down. I expected Greece to equalise so I could back them for the win in the last minutes, but they did not even create a chance. Utter morass.

I ordered. It's difficult though. I mean I try myself, sometimes it works sometimes it does n't. In the early days of the internet I talked about one of my projects to a neighbour and he said let's take a walk to the port, a splash among the boats will do you a world of good (!). But it worked and money kept flowing in like rockies and the neighbour proved an idiot. On other occasions failed dismally despite expectations. The thing is to catch the drift of the market. Also the bigwigs. If the bigwigs among the mass media are kind to you then you are bound to succeed. One time I made two websites for two friends. The first one was good but the traffic was gowing pretty slow. Something was achieved in the end but not great things. The other one was simpler but the guy said to me "don't worry I have other friends in the national sports radio", which indeed he had. So his traffic went up from 0 to some 200,000 in one week. Those radio men he knew made one or two mentions in the chat show every day, but it was enough.
