I feel like, despite Rodrygo saying he wants to stay, he'll see his playing time reduced drastically. I'd imagine he will have no other option but to move on should he want regular playing time. Not at all. There's a reason Madrid are still clinging to Modric despite his advancing years.
-
They've been striking gold with their recent investments. If they manage to find someone who can fill the void of Kroos/Modric, it will be hard to stop them from adding more CL trophies.

RM tapping up all the young French talent.

I had hoped Sterling's time at the club would be coming to an end. We've got our own troubles. If anything can be done to assist lighten the regulations for other clubs, our owners will gladly follow suit. I honestly didn't think new owners could live such a distaste after a short period of time, but they have proven me wrong, and by a significant margin.

Rumoured fee has been around €70m+. I personally don't think he matches the profile of CF we need. I'd imagine others feel the same, considering most rumours about suitors have cooled down considerably. Also, it seems like people don't realise how much Napoli actually spent on Osimhen.

Were Caicedo and Enzo purchased for fair prices? Even while we aren't giving out contracts comparable to that of Sterling anymore, we aren't exactly improving on the transfer front either, aside from keeping players on for years who may end up being huge busts that we are unable to let go of. Giving the players adequate opportunities to succeed or fail here is something I wholeheartedly support, but not at the expense of the team's long-term viability. Going another full campaign with only one CF is a non-starter, whether it's Osimhen, whose profile differs largely from Jackson's, or a lesser clamorous name who has some experience behind him. Sesko is not the answer. I am unsure about your last point. He's linked heavily with us, as he's exactly what we need & is a Chelsea fan. The links don't stop with us; if you look around, Arsenal are potential suitors as well. You mentioned not being keen on him in the past. Jackson played TWELVE more games. If you're going to compare numbers, at least let me be on a level playing field. I've said it countless times: prior to this season, Osimhen's output has gotten better year on year (even with a face-altering injury), so this one season talk is nonsense. There's no other way I can put it. Good business and this board don't usually mix together—just take a look at our ridiculous GK moves over the past year. I'm only presenting a truth; the topic isn't whether we want them back. It looks like Gallagher will be the next name added to the list while we go overboard for any Tom, Dick, or Harry with a Brighton link. DD had a presence; Jackson's is fighting to take a PK in a meaningless game while he was shying away from taking one for his country a few months prior. Moments like this sour my feelings towards him, not to mention his childish behaviour, resulting in 10 yellow cards. Almost as many cards as goals is hilarious. Osimhen is unproven? 😁
-
You clearly haven't been a fan of Osimhen from the start, but you have yet to propose a viable alternative (Jackson has been uttered by you, which is already something in itself). If Osimhen offered half of what DD did during his first spell, the transfer fee would be a no-brainer in this current climate, with Lukaku going the opposite way. We are selling starters to our rivals, clinching on to the idea of EL football, and we haven't got a WC player in the squad (James & Nkunku are too injury-prone rn to even consider them). Time will tell when Enzo is the first of the big signings to be shipped off.

Everything points to us becoming nothing more than a feeder club. More often than not, this includes questionable appointments and signing players who can't even legally drink.
-
Bastion, along with Barella (if Gallagher does move on), are who I've been calling for. There is always something about not having two left-footed starting CBs, but if they can do the job, talent should take precedence over anything else.
-
You and me both. It would nice to see "proven" before any buzzword.
-
And here I was thinking Kompany to Bayern would be the most odd managerial appointment. Clearly not. 😄
-
Fair enough. You clearly have a more informed opinion about him than most. I just feel like the majority of names aren't at the level we want to be at. Conference league level, they might do.
-
It's like I'm watching someone who is terrible at Football manager run this club. 😪 At the very least, Frank has EPL experience. We are potentially getting an unknown quantity at this level. Rumours are that the owners want someone with experience managing in this country; there are a number of better options out there who fit that criteria (a stupid one, imo).
-
Aren't they supposedly there to fill the void until Slonina is ready?
-
I'm surprised Crespo's name hasn't been doing the rounds anywhere. Today's triumph might change that.
-
If Kompany does end up taking the job, they will be a laughing stock.
-
As much as we might want to blame City, we only have ourselves to blame. We threw away leads against now relegated sides, and the less said about Jackson's performance in the semis, the better. Hoping for a similar second half showing to the one against Coventry. City certainly have the players.
-
City still celebrating their league title. Our luck
-
The state of that club. It's really something that there is a top club in Europe who are in worse shape than us.
-
Don't worry, they have a list of Cobham graduates to make up for it.
-
Lookman ends the unbeaten run. That's what an attacking winger looks like. The first hattrick in a one legged UEFA Cup/EL final.
-
Ah, okay. It's just a hunch I have. Him being HG is another big plus for potential suitors over here.
-
I was going to say exactly that. He overthought the decision, which could cost them the perfect season. I'm not sure if you're talking about my feeling of an EPL return or his fine form since joining Atalanta. If it's the latter, the move to Atalanta has seen him flourish (perfect environment) and go from strength to strength. It's also translated on the INT stage; arguably Nigeria's best attacker at this year's AFCON.
-
Lookman delivering yet again. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, he will be coming back to the EPL this summer. Leaving Schick and Boniface on the bench was a massive plus for Atalanta. They've comeback in the past, but I feel like this might be game over.
-
Bayern have been linked to him as well. It just seems like the same managers are being mentioned regardless of where the vacancy is.
