  1. I was gonna say, "Surely there aren't separate rules for PK's." You learn something new every day. I wonder if they tally up, so he could be close to a tournament suspension.
  2. Leverkusen does it again. We are always bringing joy to Liverpool. Talking about the quad should have resulted in nothing. Villa are the only English team remaining in Europe. It is unfortunate that the rest of the league decided to underperform this year out of any. He is a real wind up. No idea how he remained on the pitch, as he was clearly given a second yellow. I don't believe the rules change during a shootout...
  3. Leverkusen love to leave it late in this competition.
  4. There's the early goal they were after. I can see it going to ET, as Atalanta tend to score.
  5. A mix up gifted them an equaliser late on to take it to ET. I wouldn't write Liverpool off just yet. They had plenty of chances in the first leg, which unfortunately (for them) fell to Nunez.
  6. I was just as shocked when I saw it. The criteria for qualifying is clearly flawed in some way. Edit: Having looked into it a bit, outside of those who already qualified, Salzburg earned the most points over the last four years (there's a limit of two clubs per nation). I guess Haaland's last season there played a big part.
  7. I'm sure whoever qualifiers from Oceania will gladly take that tag. 😄
  8. Salzburg claim the final European spot for next year's Club World Cup thanks to Arsenal's exit.
  9. Nice way for City to go into Saturday's semi.
  10. Both sides aren't exactly filled with great PK takers.
  11. That goal matches the previous record for most goals in the CL quarters, and there's still at least 75 mins left in either game. These ties have certainly delivered.
  12. PSG couldn't beat Dortmund... See how easy it is to flip the narrative. PSG are obviously massive favourites, and for good reason too. Nothing is a certainty in football, though.
  13. How many opportunities did Barcelona have to get the ball cleared? It makes me think of their earlier-season "home" loss to Girona. Mbappe will get the praise, mostly from Madrid, but Barcola was the MOTM. Did you not see who topped their group?
  14. The point you were trying to make is not using them as a model. I quoted the fact that they're "roughly the same side"; they're not. If anything, they're overachieving with a weaker side. I'm sure we'd be thrilled if we were currently in that situation (in a world Palmer was sold for a massive profit).
  15. Oblak hasn't been impressive today. He was arguably at fault for the first two goals (haven't seen the last two).
  16. Or separate the ties like before - two games each week rather than four. It will be interesting to see how the new format will impact things.
  17. It's refreshing to see they're no longer UEFA's darlings.
  18. They lost their best player by a country mile and Guerreiro in the summer. Hardly the same side, tbh.
  19. PSG giving Barca a taste of their own medicine. Barcelona were in complete control not so long ago.
  20. Exactly. Just look at the impact he had within the opening minutes.
  21. Xavi's decision to take Yamal off is looking more and more costly. I still think that's the moment they threw away the tie. Xavi sent off as well.
  22. I was really pleased at the start of the season when there was talk of Lunin potentially being offered as part of the of the payment for Kepa. The former has solidified his place as RM's number 1 now, so that's not happening (I'm not sure if you left him out for that reason).
  23. I'd imagine so. They've had their historic comebacks in the past, so I'm sure he'll at least try to. No away goals certainly works in their favour.
  24. I don't think he has any other choice. Losing three on the bounce would be rather humiliating after all the talk about the quad not so long ago.
