@Vesper I don't believe we're in that dire of a state, just yet. The saga with Roman and the country is a different topic altogether.
The amount of uncertainty around the club will hopefully be addressed soon.
Provided that happens and Sarri gets sacked 6 months from now; are we going to get Hiddink in for a patch up job?
Not to mention the prospect of more youngsters being sold in the meantime.
Isn't keeping Sarri during a potential ban more of a risk? We have 41~ players out on loan and he's already said only two or three are ready. That in itself is a cause for concern.
Trippier could be off, so it will be either him or Aurier. Whether he ever gets a run to prove himself is a different story. Bale's reasoning is solely money motivated.
Walker-Peters is a youngster that started his career at Tottenham, born/brought up in the area and reluctant to leave London whilst Bale is willing to throw away what is meant to be his prime years. The two examples couldn't be further apart from one another.
Lampard being appointed just makes Sarri's appointment a farce and emphasises the lack of a plan from the board.
Talk of Lampard being appointed makes me believe there's more to our delay in going to CAS than meets the eye. If I knew the ban wasn't going to get frozen, I would be slightly in favour of the prospect for the reasons you & others have mentioned. However, we need to keep our expectations in check despite Lampard's decent start to managerial career rather than herald him as the next elite coach.
Sarri getting the sack and Juve actually coming after him are two different things (which was the orignal point).
Inzaghi makes more sense where Juve are concerned as well.
Very few managers resign where we are concerned. I'm expecting him to stay on, but I can see next season being a horror as things stand (Hazard off, transfer ban, extension of squad players, etc).
Mbappe's statements over the weekend could change everything. PSG need a big name French player and he's obviously on their list. There's been plenty of talk about this summer being crazy, the current transfer record being broken, etc. You can easily see things following into place should such players force moves.
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eden-hazard/leistungsdaten/spieler/50202/plus/0?saison=2011 I'm just against nothing short term fix. Whatever happens in the next few weeks, we need to change our ways in that regard.
Get £225m~ and spend half of it in 12 months? That doesn't sound like good business. I might have been a tad on board had we had a board that could somehow wrap up deals for the long term (like Keita).
