It wouldn't be surprising (Arab Cup is taking place in a matter of days). They postponed it early this year, so the changes of them doing it again will be very slim unless things get drastically worse in the next month.

Who should they take places from in that case? Qualification in CAF is already a joke and has gotten worse. I believe there should be more intercontinental playoffs; we would see who really deserves to be there rather than "names" being more worthy than others. Saying that, we'll have 48 teams in 2026 🙄

Why is signing Chiesa unrealistic? A number of reports circulating that we are going to make a big offer for him & the uncertainty around his situation should work in our favour.

You could use a number of superlatives to describe that performance. Almost perfect & that was without three of our main attackers. We are playing some of the best football I've seen at the club in my lifetime, with everyone chipping in, especially upfront. Top spot in our hands now.

Agreed. The generalisation is something I was getting at; judge each player on their own merit. I think that has become an issue in the last decade or so. I guess the overall lack of quality has a lot to do with that.

@Jase was referring to our attackers (correct me, if I'm wrong). They might be playing in different positions, but we shouldn't be reliant on them to score whilst players that actually play upfront remain abysmal in front of goal.

I agree. They would be much higher had they not thrown away leads late on against Brighton & Arsenal to name two.
