  1. We wouldn't need to worry about productivity with the former. Just look at what he did with a dire side last season. For reasons that can't be explained.
  2. I'm with you on the Alonso front, but there surely has to be another way. Take FDJ off their hands, if they're so desperate to sign the former. Danjuma would tick a number of those boxes tbh. A quick fix - Muriel or Ronaldo (if it's for no longer than a year). Long term options - Danjuma or the last remaining quality CF that's obtainable, Osimhen.
  3. That's just his fee. Add the cost of his wage (£200k~) on probably a three-year contract and you tell me if that makes sense financially. We need to stop throwing money down the drain.
  4. Are United just shopping around in the red half of Madrid? From Morata to Cunha and now to Felix.
  5. Sign a 33-year old for £25m who cost nothing a matter of months ago? This shouldn't even be a discussion.
  6. We have to tie him down to a new contract before we get too comfortable. I'd be surprised if we didn't move for Livramento, if he manages to return from his lengthy layoff and performs at a similar level.
  7. His European experience is solely EL. I think he's a level or two below ours. However, I'm surprised no one has moved for him despite his age.
  8. Their recruit always seems to be on point.
  9. As are the majority of the attackers we have here already. I'd happily take ASM for a fair price or even a swap of Pulisic, if their interest in him is genuine, as he'd offer something few players can whilst being young enough to still have room for improvement.
  10. Him and Eze are having a field day. It seems like such an odd decision by Klopp to start Phillips ahead of Gomez.
  11. COVID hit them hard & their poor form last season added to that. The days of making notable losses each window are behind them. I'm in total agreement; the idea of going for young talent is one I'm a fan of, but not overspending on average talent (£40m is far too much as it is).
  12. They have had financial issues for a number of seasons, so to say they don't need the money couldn't be further from the truth. A sizeable fee would probably reluctantly force their hand. I just hope it isn't us that are stupid enough to do it.
  13. That's the issue, though. If that isn't deemed violent conduct, we might as well wrap things up.
  14. That's incorrect - Video Assistant Referees Red Card Decisions Explained | VAR | Premier League
  15. Aren't straight red offences under the same bracket? I'm sure there has to have been a decision where the ref saw nothing which resulted in a straight red. Either that or the EPL has changed up the ruleset even more.
  16. I thought it was the total opposite. Doesn't VAR get involved and informs the ref of something he ought to look at (reason the ref waited before the second corner was taken and was clearly having a conversation with VAR)? I'd love to be proven wrong, though.
  17. No one is excusing Jorgi, but I don't understand this train of thought in the slightest. VAR gave a no call on Cucu being dragged to the floor. Two or five hundred wrongs don't make a right. To sum it up, Tottenham earned a point due to refereeing decisions.
  18. Just look at @Vesper post - Richarlison was offside & obstructing Mendy's view. Jorgi's mistake shouldn't have even mattered when all was said & done. Rules are supposedly in place to be followed all the time.
  19. VAR isn't the same everywhere, as the final call comes down to interpretation. Also, I'm sure if I looked hard enough, I could find information that states the way VAR is used is exactly the same across the continent. You might have a point, but what's the reason behind both of Spurs' goals? Did we give them two goals?
  20. You're talking about VAR in another country. EPL has had it for years, and those who use it still struggle to do so effectively or at all at times.
  21. There are no consequences for refs having horrendous afternoons unless they've been newly promoted, so this sort of thing will continue to happen. I hate it as much as you, but nothing is going to change in the immediate future. A total clearout should have been done years ago. It was supposedly "a different phase of play," so too far gone to review. There's literally no point in technology when those behind it are clueless.
  22. One less body to deal with makes a difference
  23. It's getting tiresome that such calls are what we're complaining about instead of what you mentioned. No decent attacker should ever miss chances like Havertz did.
  24. Do away with VAR. It's useless in this country
