  1. Tim Howard. He is also a proven goalscorer
  2. Feeling bad for the lad. Deserves playing time but where would he play? Ivanovic and Azpi are absolute undroppables at the moment. Luis Fabregas Matic I still think that formation would work in a tight game when Ramires is unavailable. He could play the role Di Maria played for Real Madrid last year.
  3. Heroic performance by Dave! Ridiculous that we have 3 fullbacks that would play in every team in the world as well as two goalkeepers who would play anywhere except Bayern.
  4. Cahill as a DM is honestly the worst case scenario. Rather play with two strikers of Costa and Drogba.
  5. Courtois; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry, Azpi; Ramires, Cesc, Luis; Willian, Costa, Hazard I'll be amazed if any other than those 11 names show up at the pitch in the start. The real question is what formation Jose will use this time. According to Daily Mail, the players had an extra tactical session at Cobham today (or tomorrow, can't remember). I think it means that something more than usual is happening, and my money is on us playing with a back-5, with Cesc, Ramires and Willian forming up a midfield trio and Costa and Hazard playing more free role up front. If we were to play the usual 4-2-3-1, the one below is my guess for the line-up: Costa Hazard Willian Cesc Luis Ramires Azpi Terry Zouma Ivanovic Anyways, the final formation will be really interesting to see. Let's also keep fingers crossed that Zouma gets the sport ahead of Cahill. And I really don't care who plays in goal as both of the options are better than what the opposition has.
  6. Costa Hazard Willian Ramires Azpi/Ake Fabregas Luis Ivanovic Terry Zouma Courtois
  7. Absolutely terrifying tackle and Matic is so lucky not be using crutches for the next 6-8 months. As what comes to reaction, it is obviously not a one the club wants to see but just because your weekly salary is of biblical proportions doesn't mean you should/could abandon all basic human emotions. And it was just a shove at Barnes, and not even a tough one. Just like Jose put it at Sky Studio today, the consequence of that shove for Barnes is absolutely nothing. Matic could have seen his life's work as a footballer flushed down the toilet. Either get a ban Barnes, or cancel Matic's 3-game ban.
  8. In bad form right now, something has to be done. If I remember correctly, at Inter Jose sent Wesley Sneijder for a week's vacation at Mallorca or something and he ended having the spring of his life. Maybe same should we done with this lad. Go sit under the palm trees for a week or two and then come back for the PSG game.
  9. As great captain and defender he has been and STILL is, it has to be said that he does limit our playing against tough opponents. We are unwilling to take the initiative and start possession play with a high-line defence as long as he is in our starting XI. Simply too slow for that type of play. What do you guys think, does JT26 still have one more year as our number one defender or has the time simply passed by one of the top defenders of modern football era?
  10. Costa Hazard Ivanovic Willian Cesc Ramires Azpilicueta Matic Terry Cahill And that's how the team is actually set-up
  11. If Cesc and Oscar are out, I can see Jose choose the kind of squad below. Costa Hazard Willian Remy Matic Ramires Azpi Ivan Terry Zouma Cech I do not believe Jose will pick Cuadrado to the XI so what other choices do we really have? That team would definitely be set up for the counter. We played good football against Everton with a squad full of speedsters. Only problem we had was that Cesc was out so creativity in midfield was non-existent. With Remy and Costa, we could seriously challenge their backline with intelligent runs, knowing that certain Luiz is there to cause all kinds of problems (for Thiago Silva).
  12. Cesc for me. Without Matic we can always change back to more defensive tactics and play Mikel-Ramires. Cesc has changed our game in terms of the games where we have to breakdown the opponent's bus. With Matic-Ramires pivot our offensive game relies entirely on Eden whereas Cesc is able to take our other attacking players (read: the striker) into the game.
  13. If we were to rest Hazard, my first option for that more free-roaming left-wing role would be either Cuadrado or Remy. Willian is perfect for right-wing and the no.10 as a hard worker but will be never be that player who will decide the games for us week in week out. That said, I feel it's great that our current best line-up of Hazard-Willian-Cuadrado could well be the one Jose might use in the big games as well. That is quite worrying for Oscar, and if he doesn't improve in that aspect (of being reliable enough for big games), I can't see him staying at the club beyond summer.
  14. Ramires is pretty useless player when we have Willian in the middle. Would have been a different game with Cesc in the starting XI. Fantastic performance!!
  15. Has been little bit off-form for the past couple months but was ridiculously good today! The man is a freaking beast!
  16. That team has enough speed to break the sound barrier. It's going to fun game, 4-1 my prediction :blue scalf:
  17. That phrase was in brackets for a reason. He isn't the worst in that perspective, but I do remember one incident from yesterday where we were setting up a counter-attack after winning possession. Our attackers, Matic and Ramires were all steamrolling into the attacking zone and all Oscar had to do was play a simple pass into one of our those players. Instead he tried to play a weird chip-pass between 3 Villa players and as a result he gave it straight to the opponent. Against PSG that kind of sloppiness might send us to early exit from Champions League. Point is that it is sometimes so frustrating to us play as we work so hard to win possession, only to give it away because one of our superstars was unable to play an elementary pass.
  18. He is just so incredibly sloppy in passing. Fact is that if our no.10 wouldn't the lose the ball so many times (in dangerous areas), our other players wouldn't have to track back so much and therefore waste energy. It isn't just Oscar though, many other players in our team lose the possession so regularly it seems they are doing it on purpose.
  19. Maybe we are not either? The club has always seen something special in KDB but thought he wasn't ready for Chelsea in a year or two. He didn't want to go to a yet another loan so he was sold. The difference in this situation is that Wolfsburg gives full focus to his development as well as maximum playtime, developing him as a player. As a loanee he would always be the odd man out and that wouldn't be so great for his development. So maybe our fantastic board thought through this scenario and decided to include a reasonable priced buy-back clause to the deal?
  20. This kid isn't just some player. He is from another planet and as a top club Chelsea should do whatever it takes to get him not only to our side but more importantly away of our rivals' sides. In a world where Di Maria goes for 60 and Suarez for 80, discussions of world-record beater sums isn't that far-fetched notion. As where it comes to him preventing Loftus-Cheek to make breakthrough, I don't believe it will at any means weaken his chances in comparison to our current setting. If Oscar is simply exchanged for Pogba, RLC still has to be above Ramires, Mikel and Ake, so in order to help his situation we should sell one of those squad players then? As Cesc won't be with us that long anyways I think, RLC has a good chance of making it here in 3-4 years so the best option for him in my opinion for next season would be a loan to Middlesbrough.
  21. Remy Hazard Cuadrado Willian Matic Cesc Azpi Terry Zouma Ivanovic Courtois
  22. Well this is a big game for Oscar. If he has an off-day and Cuadrado comes off the bench and makes something happen, we might well be seeing Hazard-Willian-Cuadrado regularly for the rest of the season.
  23. The summer of 2015 will be know as the Battle of Pogba. Chelsea, PSG and Real are IMO the only teams currently capable of paying for him. Is ManU ready to pay +80million euros for a player they let of free two seasons ago? I don't think so. If Real are getting Reus, I don't think even they can afford him, unless they sell Bale of course. From FFP point of view, how much would Chelsea need to sell in order to be able to pay possible world record for Pogba?
  24. When was the last time Chelsea had 5 star skiller in FIFA? Anyways, hope to see him today off the bench and possibly make the difference!
