This is sort of a negative way to think this. Why throw away the things he has to offer as no8 simply because there is a much minor possibility of a misplaced pass. Again, not worth it imo, and obviously i am not saying we should go Matic-Fab all the games. Some games vs top teams might require Ramires there, but the majority should be simply Matic -Fab.

Today was not the day to judge Mikel. He needs to be on our subs list in particular games.

Not that quick indeed, but imo when you are no10 there's more pressure around you from the opposition in numbers and mistakes are more often. I think he rarely gives away possession when playing no8, his passing is also better there.

Painful to watch, but i am actually very happy we chose this kind of opposition. The point here is to give minutes to every player and have a good intense training and that has just happened today. Scoreline means nothing. Onto some conclusions: Our defence looks a bit shaky atm, but i am not worried since a) there's still time to stabilize (new LB and all) and b)theoretically, we will not need it to be that sharp and that hard working like last season's second period because we will be more balanced as a team (better up front and better midfield). Ake has impressed me the most this pre-season. I think he should be our real second choice LB and Azpi should stay RB if Luis gets injured or something. No more Ivanovic please. He can rotate with Cahill/JT. Costa is brilliant. He may be proved to be the most important one of our signings this season imo. Bigger than Fab. I want Fab at no8 position. Not that i don't like him as no 10, but i want that control from deep that he can offer. Hopefully Oscar is coming back all guns blazing. Matic will be 200% better this season.

This match needs to be very thrilling for ppl to wank here afterwards, or else meltdown will continue at Frank's.

He is primarily a winger and it's not that we don't have one thousand AMs. We even have Shurrle if you're looking for someone to play further forward in case of emergency. He is also a bit old and relatively expensive. I don't think he would be a good signing. I do like this player myself, but he is not needed here.

Well, you can't expect Jose to really go out on Sky Sports and say that we literally are unable to sell him for well-known reasons, so the 3 strikers thing was the next best thing to say.
