  1. Still in utter disbelief that this is happening.. Cech to Arsenal of all clubs.. ..worse still, there's not a doubt in my mind that he'll be against us in the Community Shield! Has anyone even thought about that??
  2. The way I feel about Petr Cech right now:
  3. So I'm willing to bet that the potential signing of Alex Song nullifies any chance of us signing Witsel, who is probably £25m more than Song .. .. I'm all in for this signing!
  4. Mikel isn't worth £32m is he? I rest my case!
  5. Well I just hope Financial Fair Play isn't a big issue, then.. besides, money can be used to plug up other holes around the squad, especially our central defence, and maybe even a left back!
  6. Yeah, but where do you get the money from to finance a move for Witsel? Surely Mikel is nowhere near the same valuation as Witsel?
  7. Southampton is the ONLY club I'd want Bamford to be loaned to!
  8. Only reason I'd EVER want to see this happening, is if Oscar gets sold to Juventus for a profit, (bought -£21.5m sell for £30m), and Zenit offer less than £30m for Witsel.. (keep in mind this is wishful thinking). Fabregas would then be pushed up to creative midfielder, Witsel and Matic would form a CDM duo, protecting the back four.. Won't happen in a month of Sundays however, so it's a no-go for me!
  9. I understand your point as far as Solanke is concerned. Bamford on the other hand, is playing like he deserves a big chance sooner rather than later. He didn't win Championship Player of the Year for nothing. If push comes to shove, maybe Bamford will get another loan deal to one of the Premier League clubs, but I'm just as excited to see this guy play as much as I did when Lukaku joined, but he got pushed around the team, and ended up at West Brom and Everton in loan deals, which later became permament. Now I don't want the same happening to Bamford, which is why I see Falcao being loaned to us as the better option (better yet, not at all). If it was a permanent deal, we would instantly have to say goodbye to Bamford because he'll never get games!
  10. Absolutely spot on!! It all goes down to the phrase of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ... if Remy is doing the business on the pitch, even as a second choice, and the attitude fits that, why change it? Why try to fork out more money on a bigger ego, when the latter is doing the job perfectly. Steve posted earlier that Falcao is someone he would have loved to sign some few years ago, and that's fine, but what guys like Didierforever fail to understand, is that this is a financial risk .. dare I say it again, Financial Fair Play needs to be addressed when moves like this at our club happen. £130,000 is a lot of money to be losing every week for a 2nd choice despite the big wage cut. On the other hand, you have Remy doing a sterling job and not costing us as much, so why make things harder for ourselves financially when there is no need.
  11. I'm just going to state, that the only silver lining to this cloud, is that we have no fucking idea how good or bad Falcao will be unless he puts on a blue shirt and performs! The fact that he was good for Atletico; the fact that he was bad at United is irrelevant! He won't be playing for any of those, he'll be playing for Chelsea! Whatever will be, will be.. we as loyal Chelsea supporters just have to roll with the punches.
  12. I honestly think you have a right to see that as an outright fear, as I feel exactly the same! I thought Remy last season fit the bill as a second striker to Costa. He literally scored every time he was either brought on as a sub, or played the entire game because of an injury to Costa. Remy is guaranteed a goal when he comes on! To put it bluntly, he's our super-sub .. I look at Falcao, and all he is to me, is a player that won't fit in anywhere, will need some time to find his form (which will probably take up half the season), and someone who, despite the huge pay cut, still has a big wage to pay every week!
  13. I don't need to read a lot of posts to understand this deal comes with its flaws. Not my fault I'm cautious about the club I support.. as Special Juan said.. it's my own opinion on the matter at hand.
  14. Am I the only one here who isn't favouring this move at all?? Falcao is not a player who will just fill Drogba's boots and be a bit-parter, he will actually want to be first choice.. we already have Costa, who got 20 goals last season, so why are we wasting money getting this guy? is it because we don't want Liverpool to sign him? Sorry for sounding negative, some people might see my thoughts as complete garbage, but I guess it's up to Mourinho.. if he reckons he can keep both Costa and Falcao happy at the club, and the club can keep within FFP regulations with this move, then by all means it's fine by me! I just don't want to see our club struggling to follow UEFA's guidelines.. I still think Lacazette is a better option to try and sign, rather than Falcao.
  15. Cech going to Arsenal as a possibility.. not gunna lie.. makes my stomach drop at the thought! Not only would it be heartbreaking to see a legend join a rival club, but also it really strengthens a club with their tails up going into next season, making them a major title contender. I can remember what he said days before he was expected to sign for us in 2004, "I can't wait to play for this huge club, I want to play here for a long time." That he has done.. but I honestly hoped he would stay for the rest of his playing career! Only silver lining to this cloud, is that there's no way he can score goals against us clearly since he is a goalkeeper!
  16. Most controversial - Henrique Most Analytical / Thought Provoking - LDN Blue Most Helpful - Alex - (Because as stated before, his post-analysis of matches put my mind at ease, and that helps! )
  17. Funniest Forumer - Spike - (Did not even have to think about that one) Most Liked Forumer - We Hate Scouse Wisest Forumer - Madmax - (Hugely tough decision for this one.. both Madmax and FB have been around a long time, I chose Madmax in the end though)
  18. Best Football Knowledge - Supporter Best General Knowledge - Alex Best Newcomer - Supporter Those are my votes! Supporter always thinks outside the box when it comes to posting, almost as if he writes articles! I love seeing them, that's why he has to be best newcomer!
  19. It's because our new contract with Yokohama doesn't start until 1st July I believe.. I could be wrong.
  20. --- TIBS --- --- ALDERWEIRELD -- IVANOVIC -- CAHILL / JT -- AZPI --- If Alderweireld picked up any form and looked decent for us, I'd be happy with this approach. Cahill would eventually take JT's place after one season should JT finally retire, and thus we would keep our ruthless defense mechanism!
  21. Walcott would seriously have to develop his football brain then, if Mourinho were to even consider him.. otherwise he'd hardly get a look in. Though it's hard to suggest that Walcott is willing enough to sit on the bench constantly after having been an Arsenal regular for a majority of seasons.. you'd think that he would have a point to prove after having finished last season on a strong note.. If any cloud had a silver lining, it would be that Walcott would be nurtured by Mourinho, making him more creative and lethal than he currently is.. AND that he would be a better option than Cuadrado.
  22. Cech going to Arsenal will actually break my heart in some ways! Arsenal were so strong last season that I was actually terrified they would overtake us at the last hurdle.. offloading Cech to them only makes them stronger contenders for next season, and when they're a local rival, it makes it all the worse! I'd much rather see him join PSG if push came to shove! Not to mention my entire family support Arsenal
