  1. But the position he takes up in a situation where we are playing a high line is something that he surely has been told to do by one of the coaches, no? It wasn't the first time he has been that far out of goal and he continued to do it afterwards so if Mou has a problem with it, he would have adressed it sooner i imagine. And Mourinho's comments afterwards were about the fact that he didn't read the situation well and didn't have the right reaction, not so much about the position he took up if i remember correctly
  2. a draw would do it as well imo, the only way for them to win it is gain on us and gain fast so that game is a must win for the Arse
  3. To win the ballon' d'or he definetly has to score more goals. But to say Robben, Neymar are better because they are more deadly is just plain daft. They both play in superior teams who play superior attacking football with superior team mates. Neymar has fucking Messi/Iniesta/Rakitic/Suarez who can provide him with pin point passes. Hazard has Cesc/Oscar/Willian, nuff said. Besides, the only way to judge goals is how important they are to the team. Look at CR and his 5 goals against granada, everybody raving how special that is, but essentially they meant nothing to the team and only count towards his personal ambitions. They would have won that game without him and his goals just as easily. When you compare that to Hazard's performance against Stoke it's clear he was way more vital to us and without him you can easily see us lose points.
  4. And the only way they stand any chance is winning another 7 in a row. It's just very unrealistic imo. I would give them worse odds now of winning the title than i would have given them at the beginning of the season. There fixture list may seem easy on paper but alot of them are against sides who are well and truly mixed in a relegation battle. All this talk about Arsenal's good form is just a ploy by the media to keep things interesting while it's really not. My best guess is they will drop points at Burnley next week and that will be that. To me City are still the one and only threat
  5. I can't understand how anyone can consider Arsenal to be title contenders. Their max points is 84 and that is if they win all of their remaining games which includes us and United. It ain't gonna happen, they are a bunch of chokers. As soon as they get a sniff of the title they'll start dropping points again. Almost none of their players have the spine and character necessary to carry them through tough moments
  6. As it has been stated before me. The truth is Cech will be gone next season. The only way to make Courtois world class is to stick with him despite some errors. Valdes is judged to be high quality despite considerable flaws. The same with Neuer and alot of his stupid decisions. You don't just become world class, you stay it by support of your fans/coach etc. You can only become better when you make mistakes. So if you replace a player whenever they make a single mistake they loose confidence and you will go nowhere.
  7. No he shouldn't, because he is our future but i wouldn't be surpised if he will be because that's Mou's way
  8. I'm no Oscar fan. I usually stick with my first impression because it's usually the right one and when i first saw him play i never thought he was something special. He's a decent player that can complement a squad but that's it for me. But what i don't get is all the ambiguous comments on here. Yesterday he played almost identically to the way he played his 'good' games like against Swansea for example. The only difference is that he didn't score the opportunity he got. I don't expect Oscar to do some flashy stuffy. He is a worker, not a creator. Most of us expect different from a number 10 but apparently not Mourinho in this team and i don't doubt him with his record. So imo it's wrong to judge him on his goals and assists solely. He brings energy and comitment to the midfield that no one else (bar maybe Willain) offer. So whenever he brings that to the table he has fullfilled pretty much everything that i expect of him. Whether that is all you expect from a number 10 in this Chelsea squad is definetely open to discussion. There are definitely players that would improve us in this area which i expect to be adressed by Mourinho in the Summer but right now i don't see anyone else who could do a better job then Oscar/Willian/Hazard as our AM's and we just have to see it through to the end of the season before we change it and give Oscar all the support we can
  9. Thought his performance yesterday was almost perfect. Was lively throughout the game, direct and always looked to get a shot of in a good position. The only thing missing was his finishing. Perticularly one of the chances were he cut in from the right and shot with his left. It should have been more in the corner and it would almost always be a goal. It is his weak foot, i know, but it would be great if he could learn to try and curl with it as well and try placing his shots more. It would make him truly two footed and he could be a danger from the left and the right. It may sound critical from me but it's just because i truly expect him to be the world's best some time in the near future!!!
  10. One thing that has annoyed me these last few games: Why isn't Cesc taking all free kicks/corners? We scored like 8 corners in the first half of the season, have we actually scored a direct goal from a freekick taken by Willian ever?
  11. The one thing that is most dissapointing to me is that he is supposed to be a guy who never stops running but i have counted numerous of times where he took his sweet time running back and helping out the defense when we loose possession. If he would have at least a good workrate like Willian we would be able to give him some games to try and fit in, but right now he offers next to nothing and you can't give him game time because of it. Worrying....
  12. It wouldn't have been a goal if Thibaut was a little more alive to the situation. He got a hand to it so if he reacted a little faster he would have saved it. Two mistakes in two games now in Mourinho's eyes, and the way Mou is acting i can imagine he will avoid all risks and go back to what he is used to so I expect to see Cech next match. But all in all, isn't this just another sign of our incompetence of playing a high line which has been hurting us all season? The reason Courtois is that high, that long is because he has no trust in his defenders ability to recover from those positions because of the fact most of them are quit slow
  13. It's so obvious that i don't understand he hasn't been banned already
  14. That is what we were told but if you ever look at highlight videos on youtube you will quickly learn that his 'dribbling' consist out of feints and hoping the opponent falls for it
  15. Would really like to give motm to Willian but Hazard tops it a little for me
  16. Very impressed with him today. That first time pass to Hazard in the first half was sexy as hell and i want to see stuff like that from him more. Deserves to start the next match as number 10
  17. Wanted to give him some time before i judged him. But i'm making official what i suspected all along: We got robbed!!!
  18. HAHAHA DROGBAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU
  19. Hazard keeps putting them on a plate and they keep missing. We should be glad Remy scored his one
  20. And then i watch footballers attempt the crossbar challenge, not coming even close to hitting it and then this happens..............sigh
  21. 3 sloppy passes in the first minute, great start
  22. I don't see many solutions either that would actually fix our FB problems or improve the static nature of our midfield. KDB as a 10 seems the logical one but we tried that already and he has yet to give a memorable performance in that position. I see that Wilmots is trying to change things up a little and isn't too stubborn in how he goes about things so it might take him some time to figure things out and come to a solution but i don't think there is a reason not to give him that. It reminds me a little bit of what i heard about Low and thier golden generation. He remember him being criticized in throwing away their golden generation as well but they sticked with him and it paid off. Don't know the exact story behind this and maybe some of the german members can comment more on this
  23. people are going way overboard in their critique of Wilmots i feel. Yes he is a bit tactical inept but he took a team full of talents that wasn't doing well and turned it into what it is today, a team that lost only one official match in over three years now and is third in fifa ranking. No matter how you look at that, it is impressive. If we had those results, and were playing the way we are now under a coach with a bigger reputation like Hiddink he would get a lot of praise for that. Also, i don't think a new manager will change much. They are not miracle workers. Look at Mou, he doesnt turn certain players into gold (Schurlle, Salah, Torres...) etc., but he is very good at understanding what a team needs to have succes and he goes out and get it. With the national team a manager's job mainly consists out of man managment and motivation and you can't argue that Wilmots is very good at those things. Tactics has its place but it's not going to be the deciding factor i feel. We just have to realize we don't have the quality in some areas (CM/FB) to ever become a team that consistently plays great football. I mean, look at Chelsea, we have a great squad on paper and can bring almost anyone we want to strengthen it and still we are playing some turgid football that by no means is great attacking football at the moment but it is getting the results. The fact that we play slow is more down to our players than our coach. Benteke, Lukaku, Witsel, Fellaini, Dembele etc. are never gonna give you fast free flowing football. It is in their nature to play slow. Don't think you can improve them on it as a coach when you only see them a few weeks every year The players/formation we played against Israel is probably the one that works best for us, considering it brought us our greatest succes so far. If the players decide to be lackluster during a match, like against Israel, you can't tactically do much about it as a coach. Wilmots is not blind to what is wrong with the team btw, he is trying to improve and tries things out (KDB as a 10, Naingolan as the 6 etc.) so i don't mind him too much and will not judge him too harshly
  24. Seriously, go create your own personal KDB forum where you can keep living in your magically fairy land. And congrats on being the first person i'm gonna ignore on here.
