  1. Jose is neither an attacking or defending coach, he is a result coach. There are teams where the result rotates around their attacking or defensive football. Mourinho's teams rotate around the result. Chelsea will either be the most attacking team in the PL or the most defensive. It depends on what will get us the 3 points against each team. The sooner people understand this, the faster this debate of whether Jose is a defensive or attacking manager, will end.
  2. Top of the table and we're here to stay.
  3. Expect "the club which doesn't buy trophies" to go on a spending spree until the end of the transfer window. I predict at least the 60m Madrid is asking for Di Maria and the clause for Reus.
  4. Neither Cech's potential sale nor Costa's injury would trigger a "spending spree" like you are suggesting. Costa's injury would probably force us to spend at max 30m on another top striker but Cech's sale will open no room for another goal keeper. Chelsea has had Schwarzer as backup for Cech for years, we can have him as backup for Courtois too.
  5. When Mourinho joined the club the first time, there weren't many top players in the team. What else is there to spend on now? We have 2 of the best top 5 goal keepers in the world, we have the most solid defense in the PL, a world class midfield and one of the very best strikers in the world. Your speculation is foolish.
  6. The thing that is making me a little bit nervous about this guy is that he was massively criticized in Spain because according to them, he always starts the season fantastically and then drops in his performances completely in mid-season. The Barcelona fans claimed this happened every single season he was there. I'm really hoping it's not true.
  7. Imagine Fabregas sticking that one in on Arsenal. O.M.G.... I think I would die! :D
  8. You're trying too hard bro. Here is what you said: 1. This statement is absolutely ridiculous, no matter which way you put it. 2. First you say Mourinho wouldn't put a player like Marcelo attacking, then, when people point out how much ridiculous that is, considering Marcelo was an attacking beast under Jose, you claim he was actually just an exception. 3. Cahill was never expected to attack, considering the position he had to play in and Ivanovic is not known for his attacking attributes. Which means the fact remains the same: When Jose has a defender that has the ability to attack effectively (e.g. Marcelo and Maicon), he embraces it and makes the best of it. If he made use of Marcelo and Maicon's attacking skills, there's no reason to believe he won't make use of Luis'.
  9. Both Maicon and Marcelo had their attacking attributes massively exploited by Mourinho. Marcelo participated in almost all Real Madrid counter-attacks and there were some games where one could even mistake him for a second winger. And this happened even in games where the strategy was supposedly to park the bus. In this video, for example, you can see just how high Marcelo played on the field even against top teams: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OwoTDcNkpY It doesn't matter how many UEFA badges you have. You're claiming Mourinho "refuses to give his full-backs attacking roles" when everything about Jose's history as a manager shows exactly the opposite. So I repeat, on this particular matter, you DON'T know what you're talking about. Period.
  10. LOL! You've clearly never seen Mourinho's use of Marcelo at Real Madrid. You don't know what you're talking about mate.
  11. How so? If a group of fanatics from your own fanbase told you they were going to murder your family because you plan on leaving, wouldn't that ruin your night?
  12. Actually, when that happened, I remember the Portuguese media reporting he didn't celebrate because he received death threats against his family from some dumb Porto fans, who didn't want him to leave the club and go to Chelsea.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU4LZqLESi4 Having followed Bruno Alves when he played for Porto, I can guarantee you he was purposely and intentionally trying to inflict an injury on Costa right there. There is no bigger cunt in Portuguese football.
  14. Of course it's not their fault. The players of other teams just happen to like the color$ of Bay€rn $hirts.
  15. Bayern has plenty of interest in him. Just goes to show how much of a coward Guardiola is. Buying all of his rival's stars so he can have an easy league and focus only on the CL. Then some people actually have the nerve to claim he's one of the best managers in the world.
  16. This obsession with having a first team composed of homegrown players needs to end. This trash-talk originally appeared due to the success of Barcelona's academy, which was actually no more than the luck of having several talented players be a part of the same generation. The sofa-managers who still dazzle at this idea, don't seem to have noticed both Manchester United and Barcelona, two clubs which brag about "giving the youth a chance" have been splashing dozens of millions this summer because their academy is not delivering anything top quality now, thus proving that it has nothing to do with "giving more chances to the kids" but actually "having the kids who are worth giving a chance to". Mourinho introduces academy players to the first team just as often as any other top manager. At Real Madrid, he promoted Varane, Nacho and Morata in 3 years (I'm only mentioning the ones who had success, because he also gave a chance to plenty of others who failed to make an impact). In comparison, Ancelotti has so far only promoted Jese. Looking at Bayern Munich, Guardiola's rate of promoting youth hasn't been bigger than that either. The fact is that being promoted to the first team depends more on the young players than the manager. I have yet to see a young Chelsea player leave the team for not being given a chance and then become a star elsewhere, like it happened with Pogba at Man United.
  17. Over a decade building a legacy and then throw it all away for what? I respect you guys opinion but for me this is no different than your wife enjoying a one night stand with the guy you dislike most and then say it's no biggie because it was just one night. You guys may come up with all the theories you want, but for me there is only one explanation for this, which is attention. He is reaching the end of his career and he wants to make the headlines once again, cause a massive reaction on the crowds when he steps on the field. No other explanation makes sense. I never thought I would say this and I'm really sad to say it but fuck you Lampard. No Chelsea fan will be able to look at you the exact same way again. Your legend here will always be tainted for this. When our fans speak about how great you were, this elephant in the room will always be there... The last memory we will have of you in blue is in shittie blue... It's really really sad... Fuck you Lampard. Fuck you..!
  18. Couldn't find a thread about him here. - Hands down the best goalkeeper of the Spanish league after Courtois. - The Spanish media claims Real Madrid will terminate his contract within 72 hours (to make Casillas happy) and Chelsea is interested. So he would cost 0$. Personally, I don't believe this deal would make any sense unless Cech wants to leave the club. Before going to Real Madrid, Lopez was Sevilla's second goalkeeper, so I think he would be happy to be second to Courtois (even though his work at Real Madrid has shown he can be the #1 keeper at a top club). 19. So what if he signed for a club linked with City? I see nothing wrong with that. I would be shocked if he went to City though, but I personally don't believe it. He wouldn't do that to the fans, to Jose and the Chelsea board.
  20. Yes but Torres had it before. If it was possible for him to lose it, why wouldn't it be possible for him to win it back?
  21. If we are to keep him, do you guys think practicing alongside Costa and watching Costa do what a striker is supposed to do, can somehow give him back his confidence or make him relearn some of his old killer instinct?
  22. And what mistake did we make with Lukaku exactly? Buying Costa and not handing him over the first striker position, like he demanded? The difference is that Courtois is Champion of the Spanish league and CL finalist. He has proven himself at the very top level, Lukaku never did.
  23. Serious question, are you retarded? Why would you come up with such a sophisticated conspiracy theory about Mourinho wanting to get rid of Lukaku, when EVERYTHING about Lukaku's behavior (e.g. his provocative goal celebrations at Everton) and comments to the press, show that Mourinho is telling the truth about his arrogant attitude? In fact, very FEW people in this forum were surprised to hear his explanation about Lukaku's sale. Most of us had already figured it out beforehand. Just read through the old pages of this thread and you'll see.
  24. Mourinho explains the reason for selling Lukaku “The thinking behind the move was the fact that Romelu was always very clear with us, in his mentality, in his approach, he was not highly motivated to come to a competitive situation at Chelsea,” said Mourinho. “He wanted to play for Chelsea but he wanted to be clearly the first choice striker, which in a club of our dimension, it is very difficult to promise to a player. That reduced immediately his desire to come to us.”
